The service was great, the two gentlemen introduced themselves and were polite the entire time. They cleared all the items I had requested at a reasonable price. I've used them multiple times. The problem isn't the actual line labor. It's the dispatch, supervisor, manager, etc. tiers. The people above the people that are actually doing the labor. They have no clue what they're doing. This last situation caused me to never use their service again unless I have no other choices (which is rare). You book online, you choose a two-hour window. I was directly told that the window is for them to show up sometime between those hours. You know, that's fine...except that they don't tell you there's a significant delay until 15-30 minutes before appointment. That means they aren't planning their routes and schedules. The other issue that I called out is that they seem to lack trucks, because if they can't get to two-hour slots timely, they need to dispatch more teams to do the work. read more

So having a storage space and you're coming from out of town to clean it up in short amount of time is a stressful thing. We knew we would donate a lot but also knew we would trash a lot. Do they do the promised service as expected? I'm not exactly sure, due mostly to the quarantine everyone is experiencing. I had to gather all the junk I wanted to be rid of, so that meant I had to do all the actual work. Heavy items and little items, one and all, and I was the paying customer. My initial plan was to simply take it all to the local landfill and pay a fee to be done with it. But because my wife was concerned about recycling and such she insisted upon calling this place so she had clear conscience that the urine smelling couch wasn't going to fill valuable land area rather than be repurposed into something amazing by such places that do such things. I on the other hand I merely wanted the stuff to be anywhere else. I should point out also that I myself had to take the full sized sofa as well as its matching loveseat down the front stairs and into the driveway. The two young guys that showed up were very polite and that's certainly a bonus. The way the pricing schedule works is upon arrival, the senior of the team tells you the estimated cost starting at a steep bottom number and gives a few figures that are relative to the volume taken up in the cargo area of a large truck. I think the starting fee was in the range of $200 for the basic service. So if you only have one item, it most certainly better be really really hard to move to start. The top price if the truck was essentially fully loaded was somewhere north of $600. ! So it still cost me too much. Just beneath $400. Way too much, I could've taken it to the garbage landfill and saved $350 at least. Additionally the dump doesn't have an etiquette issue regarding getting tipped. But I gave them 10% gratuities. Seemed proper. So overall, I did get hosed, but I'd still recommend this place during normal times when THEY get to do ALL the work. read more

First experience with Got Junk and it was great. They were hired by Casper to pick up a mattress we were returning. Casper dropped the ball a bit, but Got Junk picked up the slack and adjusted. The team leader here, Andrew, and his teammate, were pros all the way. Prompt, reliable, efficient, courteous, thorough and well presented! Great pick-up experience working with Got Junk. Very happy that Casper chooses to work with solid vendors like them even for customers who are returning their Caspers. STOP!!! Don't do it. This company is misleading. The call center will quote you completely different prices in comparison to the local company. Ie: I was quoted $108- $323 when I made my appointment. They showed up at the wrong address- 20 minutes from my address. While they were running unapologetically late, I was called with an estimate 2 times the amount I was told when I made my appointment. A very disappointing experience :-( read more

I love 1 800 got junk!! We have used them four times and twice now I've been able to call and have them show up the same day. It is kind of expensive, $165 for 20 minutes of throwing stuff in the truck the last time I called. So as a home owner, yes maybe take the time to get rid of the stuff yourself. If someone else has to do it for you and they are not family it's gonna cost money. But for apartments this is a phenomenal service. I do agree they don't broom sweep. Think more anything the size of your toaster or bigger they will take. read more

1-800-Got-Junk was hands down the best junk removal company I have ever worked with. Although this was my first time using their service, it most definitely wont be the last!!! As a landlord I have dealt with the more than 1 mess left behind by tenants at the end of a lease, and in the past, I have gone through the hassle of getting a trailer, and removing the junk myself (which wasn't good for my back, or for my trailer - especially when I punctured my tire at the county landfill). After that debacle I tried the dumpster approach (which not only cost more, but also damaged my driveway). So this time I opted for 1-800-Got-Junk, and it was the best decision I could have made!!! The Madison Branch Manger was fast to respond to my call, very proactive in determining my needs, went above and beyond to ensure that my schedule and needs were met, and most importantly, made himself available, following up as promised with calls confirming the timeline before the service, and checking in afterward to ensure that I was satisfied with the job once it was complete. The day of the service I was contacted early by the driver of the truck that would actually be coming to my property (so I new the name of the crew members and the time that they would be there). Then they called when there were 30 min away (something I had asked for to ensure I was there when they showed up). The crew showed up right on time, they were professional in every aspect (dressed like pros, curious and ready to work). They confirmed the price and one of the crewmembers immediately started loading the junk that was in the garage, while the other walked around the rest of the property while I showed him each room, and pointed out what was "junk" and what wasn't. The crew then not only grabbed the items from every room that I needed to get rid of, but they even took out a broom and dust pan, and swept up each room. Following the job, payment was easy, they took my credit card, so I was able to earn points for the purchase, and I had an e-mailed receipt in my inbox within minutes. There is absolutely know better way to clean up a mess, or get rid of unwanted stuff, and I will definitely be using them again. Thanks for the help guys!!! read more

I just received a call from local manager and he was sincere in his apology for the miscommunication and gave me a $70 credit for the 2 bagsters that were thrown away. Awesome customer service follow up. The only complaint I have left is that they didn't sweep up the driveway after they were done but in the end who cares, it was no big deal. If you're stressed, short on time, or too tired/weak and would rather spend the money so you don't have to bring items to the curb for Salvation Army or the garbage truck to pick up, this company will do it for you. Be warned though, my experience was that the bit on the website about "[we] finish by cleaning up the area" didn't mean a thing. They said they were done, I said they hadn't swept or picked up the little pieces. They said they don't do that, I pointed out that the website said they clean up after themselves. They said that just means they haul away your junk. Granted, it was hot and they were young. I had heared them complaining to eachother earlier. They were obviously trying to get out of going up and down those stairs one more time. So I let them go. But I recommend that when they assess your stuff and go over the cotract, you verify that they'll sweep, etc. You'll be paying them lots of money and since you are already stressed/short on time/tired, you'll be happier if you don't have to finish up the job for them. read more

I wouldn't recommend this company. They arrived 2 hours late and the price was more then I was originally quoted. After they left, I noticed they damaged the door frame (took a chunk of the wood off) and they put scratches on my wainscoting. They were in a hurry, young and I don't think they cared about their job to much. I realize that sh$t happens, but when I contacted the supervisor about the price that I was original quoted and some damage to my woodwork, he seemed irritated. I was very happy about their services. We had been working to clean 50 years worth of stuff out of my parents house. We had moved it all into the garage. There was so much stuff that we were worried it would not all fit. They did an excellent job of stacking it all, filling in little air pockets with smaller pieces. We were so happy that it all fit! As for prices, they called the day before the appointment and gave me pricing information, including what a full load would cost. The price actually ended up being a little less. Was it cheap? No. But I had enough work just getting to where we were, and I didn't want to deal with all the cities rules about what can be thrown away and what can't. It was well worth it for me. Just as advertised, 2 men showed up to my home promptly. They were both friendly and professional. The only thing they didn't do was clean up after themselves. They left small chunks of mud and dirt throughout the house. I read that they clean up afterwards. However, I am not disgruntled about that, it is easy enough to do myself. One of the things I was asking them to do was to take a 52 inch rear projection tv out of my basement. They really struggled with this and the first attempt didn't work. I didn't think it would happen. They switched positions and strategies on the second attempt and got it up. I think they should have had belts of some kind like the guys who deliver your washer and dryers. I did inform the dispatcher of this but he assured me they would have everything they needed to do the job. I wonder if they are told this before they arrive. I was quite impressed; they didn't give up and they succeeded. That was no easy feat! I would definitely work with this company again and recommend them to anyone.
