Nice initially to get the sale. I called the company for pickup and they told it would be 3 weeks before they could pickup the container, then another 10 days once it's picked up. Who can wait that long for their items? Please do not use this company if you want your items anytime soon. I've been moved for 2 weeks and still have to wait another 2 weeks to get my items. My long distance move has been delayed numerous times and no one has been able to give me accurate information on when my moving pod will arrive. I have waited on hold for hours only to receive no response from customer service. Not even a refund for the inconvenience they have caused me. Set up was easy over the phone. Received a damaged pod with a dent large enough for a small animal to enter in while being stored outside in my driveway. Had a hard time with the company and manager to get a discount. Tell me why would you expect a customer to pay full price for a damaged pod? Not exactly sure which location the damaged pod came from but next time I'd try PODS and pay the extra money. I will say, the drivers were nice. Called before arriving and kept me up to date with ETA. Had to be directed by my husband a little but to make sure to drop the pod in the right location. read more

The worst, most unprofessional company that I've ever dealt with. My unit was scheduled to arrive yesterday but never came. No one bothered to update me with an ETA or to tell me that they weren't going to come at all. I called customer service at 7pm and they told me that it was still scheduled to arrive and that they complete drop offs up until 10pm. But no one called to update me after that or to tell me it wasn't coming. I called customer service again at 9pm and was on hold for an hour and a half before they dropped my call. And this morning I've been trying to figure out when I'm going to get my unit and customer service can't even reach anyone at the facility. It's been over 2 hours, and I still have no idea what's happening. My movers are here and they have nothing to unload. It's the weekend, so I can't reschedule. I'll pay them for nothing and have to hire another set of movers due to Packrat being a terrible company. Please choose any other company but these unprofessional misfits. PODS are a little more expensive but I hear that their customer service and responsiveness are top notch. Huge mistake not going with them in my effort to save a few bucks. Not worth all of the hassle and headaches dealing with such an unprofessional, no responsibility company like 1-800 packrat. read more

We moved (4) 16' containers from FL to GA and the pickup in FL went great. But the GA delivery was horrendous. I called mid-June to move units from FL to GA. About 2 weeks later I called to check if they had arrived in their GA facility and was told they never moved them because they hadn't processed the payment yet. Of course no one notified me of this. So then they processed payment of $7,400 and said they would be moved to GA facility to arrive in about 2 weeks. On 7/7 I called to schedule the delivery from the GA facility to my new house with a set schedule for two of the containers to be delivered on 7/20 and 7/21. On 7/20 I called to check when they would be arriving as I was coordinating other aspects of my move and was told the containers had arrived in GA facility but they did not schedule them for delivery to my house because they had been too busy and the soonest they could get them to me was 8/4. Oh great! So no furniture or belongings for 2 weeks which keep in mind I'm moving from out of state so staying in a hotel with 2 dogs!!! After 2+ hours of begging and pleading (and yes, some crying) they offered me a $100 refund for "my trouble". Seriously???? What a slap in the face! Clearly that was not acceptable and told them I would come get my stuff and I demanded a larger refund. They were able to give me another $625 for their transport cost had they delivered to my house. Still not acceptable since I had to hire a moving company to go to their GA facility and clean out 2 of the 4 containers and deliver to me so I could at least partially move in and not have to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks. This was at my additional expense of $1,350 not to mention the aggravation and stress. Oh and to make matters worse, Nathanial, the GA Supervisor who had promised to have my 2 Containers available for the movers to pick up by 9:30am never told the warehouse manager and our containers were not ready until after 10:30. I still have 2 containers that are scheduled to be delivered on 8/4 and have no confidence in them at all. read more

Note I scheduled for the pickup before the billing date....they even told a whole lie saying I scheduled after the date......by 1 hour lol.... don't rent from them. I was quoted $500 for delivery of the POD to my residence in Georgia and then I would pay $500 remaining upon delivery to Florida. On the day I scheduled my payment, I discovered that would need $ 1,628.46 on the day of pickup in order for the POD to be delivered. Beware of this company they will scam you. read more

We are closing on our house on July 27th and there is still a container in the MIDDLE of my driveway!!!!! They continue to tell me they can't move the container out until the 30th!!!! We've asked to move it to storage or another address even. JUST NEED IT OFF THE DRIVEWAY! My husband and I have been calling for three days! This is absolutely ridiculous. Talk about great customer service! This moving experience has been great so far thanks to 1800 pack rat and 24/7 movers. Jeff, the delivery guy, was great. He showed up on time and put the storage unit exactly where I wanted it. Then he picked it up as soon as I called him to tell him it was ready. They don't usually do same day pick up, but they kindly accommodated me. We will definitely use them again if we ever need a storage unit. We have just finished using the pod. The experience with delivery, set up and return was flawless. They were so easy to work with and the price was right. We ended up using the Pod for an Estate Sale and it was a great success. The Pod was used as an additional shopping area. We needed to thin out items in the house so shopper could see all that was available. When the day was done we simply stored the rest of the items on the lawn, locked the door and were ready for another day. Perfect. Woodstock Auction Company, LLC were our Estate Sale Company and Auctioneer. It was their idea to get the Pod and all went very well. I recommend both highly! read more

So, my life is in limbo right now, and I need to be mobile. So, I needed to put my stuff in storage. I didn't get along too well with 1-800-PACK-RAT online customer service, but when I called the local Forest Park location, Kent was on point and gave me the best deal out there. Not to mention, when my storage container was delivered Otis, the driver, was hospitable, on-time and spent time leveling the storage unit on the uneven driveway of my loft. I recommended them to my neighbors, and they used them too. A lot of people were moving out of my lofts due to the increased crime. So I'm sending a lot of business their way. I've had two units at this location for almost a year. Kent and his staff are top-notch. They worked around my ever changing moving plans and were friendly throughout. I am constantly having to get things out of the units and Kent is always willing to work around my crazy schedule and goes above and beyond to accomodate me if I can't get to the unit when scheduled. I call the Forest Park facility directly, as they are more helpful than calling the 1-800-Pack-Rat number. The drop off and pick up service is excellent and much easier than loading a truck and driving it somewhere. I recommend them to anyone needing temporary or long term storage. read more

From start to finish this experience has been exceptional. We were making a local move that required us to be out of our first property a week before we could be into the next property. There were delays, changing the closing date, time changes for pick up and drop off. Throughout the process everyone I spoke to on the phone was polite and pleasant to work with. The transportation employees were accommodating and even on days they were supposed to be "fully booked" they still managed to squeeze me in and accommodate my needs. I would HIGHLY recommend this company! The agents were helpful and responsove with our move from Atlanta to South Florida. When we realized that we weould need an additional unit just one day before we were supposed to pull out, the manager at the center (and the call center manager) were responsive and extremely helpful. They had an additional unit to us by the next morning. They literally moved mountains to help us. We hired movers and had them pack it up, then it arrived at our new home and we hired movers again...no driving across country, no fuss! This was the best experience we could imagine. Started off great through booking the container drop off and pick-up of the filled container. I now have a filled container at one of their storage locations and they will not pick up the phone for final delivery. The good thing - all my belongs were returned to me without any major damage. The bad things - The delivery and pick up was late several times. Even though you do not have to be present for all the deliveries the driver still calls because he is lost, or confused or late and it is very disruptive if you are trying to work. - They add additional fees that are not disclosed. But don't worry "it was in your contract". So the POD price comparison may not be entirely accurate. - After I got all my belongings in the unit, my door wouldn't lock. This company uses high pressure sales tactics, and has a "nonrefundable cancellation fee" of $250. It is impossible to get a quote without agreeing to a purchase. Our condo association bylaws forbid placing a mobile storage unit in the parking lot, which took us some time to find out. In the initial call to the company, I was told we would be charged if the unit was canceled within 5 days. I canceled on May 5 the delivery on May 9. When I called to cancel, I was not informed of the $250 fee. It showed up on our bank account and caused it to be overdrawn. The company is now saying we forfeit the $250. After I talked with Pack-Rat, my husband was told by a friend with considerable experience in mobile storage that the only company to go with is PODS. I can't say whether that is true, but I know our experience with Pack-Rat is unsatisfactory. Update: I received a call back. They couldn't find our original agreement, so the money has been refunded. Of course we are out the money for the overdraft. Be careful when dealing with this company. read more
