Food and service were both excellent. The place was packed, the atmosphere was fun and energetic. Our large party ordered a variety of selections, burgers, special fried fish plate, chicken Florentine, nutty mixed up salad with blackened chicken. Try the brown sugar bacon salad dressing! The food was fresh, scratch made and you could tell that time, energy, and care go into making it. Hand breaded cheese sticks appetizer simply amazing! All our entrees came out together & hot. The menu has a great selection, something for everyone. Also, definitely try the rotating specials because they always offer something different and creative. Stopped in here after a few drinks at the Levee. Bit of a wait with line, which is hard to believe for Valdese, but we got suited soon enough. Staff was very nice. I ordered the Pimento Cheese Burger and thought it was great. The steaks that some tables were ordering also looked to have been cooked very well, so might go with that my next time I visit. I go 4 out of 5 because while the fiancé and I both enjoyed our meals and would return, it did mess our stomachs up a bit. We're not sure what it was since things were definitely cooked well, and it definitely wasn't food poisoning, but this was only meal we had outside of the house in the 2 days prior. I went here with a group of about 30 people. We had reservations, of course, and they were well prepared and ready for us. The food came quickly considering the size of our group. Went Saturday for lunch with my family, not packed so got seated quickly, most of us had the BBQ burger. We all loved it! My niece had the kids pasta and she didn't like it very much because it was fettuccini with too much marinara but overall it didn't look bad, it's just not a pasta place. The food was decent, which is why we revisited the restaurant for a second time. My major complaint is with the service staff, my father was moving out of a waitress his way, and happened to lean up against the table. The waitress made a point to stop turn, look at him, and tell them that people eat off of that table. That he should not be leaned up against it, because it was unhygienic. Unless you want to eat at McDonalds (or you're lucky and it's Thursday, Friday or Saturday and you can go to JD's Smokehouse in nearby Rutherford College), 100 Main is the only show in Valdese. Lucky for you, they're a decent option! The beer selection is what really wins me over here. The same people that own Crescent Moon in Hickory run 100 Main, so they always have a great beer selection. I'm talking Wicked Weed options, Highland's Cold Mountain, etc. The food is solid, too. Nothing outstanding but nothing awful, either. You can't go wrong with one of the soutissa sandwiches. Soutissa is a Waldensian sausage -- I don't think you can find it outside of Valdese. I also like the chicken BLT. Steak fries are good. Wings are tasty. Daily soup (if you get there before they run out) is also a good choice. The restaurant is massive but still manages to be cozy, especially in the front bar area. Service is laid-back in the small-town, no-one's-ever-in-a-rush kind of way. So, grab a table in the window if one's open and settle in to drink great beer, eat good food and watch life in Valdese unfold outside. read more

Pimento cheese burger was cooked just right, and the apple slaw had a good depth to the flavor. The peaches & cream stuffed French toast was sweet enough without being too sugary. Both the onion rings and steak fries were very good without being greasy. There is a decent selection of alcohol, but we didn't have any. read more

Was driving I-40 looking for a dinner place for my family. Holy cow, I'm so glad we stopped here!! An extra mile off the interstate and a whole other level of food!!! Food was excellent, service was super friendly and several house specials the were on point. Love the Ruben sandwich and the pimento cheese app. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. The place is very inviting but that's it. Our server was great. My club sandwich was not good. It had a small amount of meats except for the bacon which raw and seemed to have been cooked hours before being put on my sandwich and left out to become nasty. My daughter got chicken tenders which appear to have come from a freezer bag and void of taste. The pasta dish was eatable but nothing I would try again. This a small town local restaurant that puts sub par food on a plate and sends it out. We were charged for extra ranch and a charge of 1.50 for table food which I noticed after I paid the bill which was over 60 dollars with tax. The food source and cooks need to be changed. read more

I am happy the establishment did not remain closed! My partner and I enjoyed our delicious meals! My partner ordered the smothered chicken wit a salad. I ordered the large portion of chicken wings and a nice beer special ! Kelly was our server and she surprised me with a veggie sticks and a fantastic assortment of dipping sauces for the unusually big tasty wings! We visited 100 Main on a Sunday afternoon. The building inside is beautiful! The staff is fast and friendly. The menu is HUGE! Our group had sandwiches and burgers. We also tried the Waldensian sausage...not my favorite, but very cool to experience part of the local culture and cuisine. Everyone was very pleased with their selections. Location and vibe are really good. Seems like a great place for locals to meet. If we had 10 visits to grade this on it might be different but this was our 1st time there. Got there at 445. Ordered inside at the bar bc we sat outside. This is a horrible idea. Bad flow to this process. My friend ordered at 440 and we sat at the same table. Guest B sat down across from us at 5 pm. At 515 my friend got his food. At 525 guest B got his food. Same thing I ordered) :-( Asked the waitress at this point what happened. She had a bogus excuse and gave us our horrible appetizer. Pimento Cheese that was like caulk. By 540 we gave up and paid our bill for the drinks. We ordered 5 min after my buddy and 25 min after he got his food we had nothing and the guy who got there after us was done eating too. They didn't own up to the mistake at all. I heard the food is good so maybe this was a freak mistake but it really sucked. And there are way to many 5 star reviews for a place of this caliber. This place is great on atmosphere and the food was good. The only problem is "Father Time" must be in the kitchen. We waited a half hour for our food and it was not that busy. Fast forward 45 minutes, other tables were served and fed, still waiting? Finally flagged bartender down and asked her to check our order, and she did but never came back to the table to let us know anything. Finally at 6:28 am I told the bartender to bring us out bill for the app and we would leave, she said she would cover the app and walked away. Absolutely awful! Hear me out I've been meaning to eat here for awhile and we went Friday night. The bartender was great super courteous and eager to please 10/10 recommended the bar. On the restaurant side eh like 6.5/10, maybe hit the bar first. Fries were meh, as was the Ruben, sweet tea was absolutely atrocious, server was really nice tho and very helpful. I'd definitely try it again but I'd probably swing by the bar for a few rounds first, also bring your own A1 steak sauce and or Texas Pete, as they don't offer it and the replacements available are garbage. All in all not a terrible place & it's great to see some livelihood coming back to valdese but if the next time is a repeat of this time I'd probably just go to Myra's and call it a night. read more

Lunch today was outstanding. Felt like having soup today and they had two excellent ones. The Zuppa Toscana was a huge hit plus the Roasted Red Pepper & Smoked Gouda Bisque was full of flavor also. My family and I were in the area and this place was recommended by a local business. My hub had the MOSS burger which came on a very nice sourdough bread and I had the burger. They were very good and hand pattied. I like mine well done and this was well cooked without being dry. I am generally not a fan of steak fries, but these were thoroughly cooked and crispy. The roll was an actual roll with a nice texture and not one of the generic white grocery store rolls. My daughter had the chicken tenders and fries. They were full sized tenders and not little nuggets. Our server, Harriet, was friendly and attentive. She kept our drinks filled and checked back with us regularly. Overall we had a very nice lunch and would be happy to stop again if we were in the area. read more

Very disappointed in our carry out St. Patrick's Day dinner. For the amount of money I paid for this meal it was next to nothing. Food is really good! Got the 12 oz. steak, my boyfriend got the BBQ Burger, and our friend had the Three Little Pigs Burger! To drink I had the Southern Peach which is very good and not too strong. Our service wasn't that great. Our waitress was really sweet but we sat for a good 15 mins until someone came and took our order. Also no one came and check on is the whole time we were there until we asked for our check. Overall, our experience was okay but the food was great! read more
