Took my car into this repair shop on October 14, 2015 for a diagnosis ONLY on a "whining noise" coming from under the hood. They advised that I needed a drive pulley and then they inspected the entire vehicle which then turned into me needing inner tire rods replaced as well. The repairs that was done on October 15th were valve cover gaskets, driver rear wheel bearing, inner tire rods (both), belt pulley, belts, front brake pads and rotors, rear brake pads and a right, rear lower control arm. I supplied ALL of the parts, like I normally do in any repair I have, purchased from a reputable company that sell foreign parts, BAPGeon), with the exception of the control arm, which TIM found a used one or me and charged $250 for it. I was able to pick the car up that day in which I paid $1200. The SAME day, my husband and I were driving, the car idled all the way down and started to cut off, we were almost hit by another car. We took it to Advance Auto and was told the crank/cam shaft sensors were bad. I called them back since they performed ENGINE work and was advised by Tim that it had nothing to do with the work they performed the DAY BEFORE, but advised me to bring it back in on Monday (OCTOBER 19th) and that the people at Advanced Auto were not mechanics. We debated over my car having NO ENGINE problems until his shop made all of these repairs. He miraculously fixed my problem by taking my car for a test drive and pulling it into one of their bays, I have not had that problem ever since. He then entered the waiting area and advised he could not find anything wrong with it, I then asked if I could get that in writing, he said just take my word that it should be ok, I then said my daughter and this other lady (KIM) was here and that his word should be VALID. I left with no paperwork but was promised my car was up and running 100%. There was then a thumping sound coming from my left side back, my husband then took it back up to the SAME REPAIR shop in which we had to pay $200 for them to replace the LEFT, REAR WHEEL BEARING. The noise has lowered but is still there. My car then started to make this "dry grinding" noise but it still drove find and I thought it was the belts due to the cold weather. On November 16th, my car battery icon and brake light illuminated but I was able to make it home. Today, November 17, 2015, I started the car, it was silent, and no noise under the hood but lights immediately illuminated and the "charge diagnosis" came on my navigation system screen. I drove my car one mile to the Advance Auto where it flashed OVERHEATING. I swore NOT TO TAKE MY CAR BACK TO 1001 Engines....so I had it towed to Indian River Auto and Transmission Repair. Per Mike, my car's pulley locked up and caused my RADIATOR, SERPETINE BELT, and TENSIONER PULLEY to fail. This repair will cost me $1100 for parts and labor. I am requesting that parts and labor be refunded back to me for my pulley repair that 1001 Engines performed. I called 1001 Engines...to find out all of the work that had been done to my car since OCTOBER 14th this is when KIM reminded me that I purchased my OWN PARTS and that I had a choice to get quality parts, I then asked if they purchased the parts, how could their parts person be any more reliable than mine, so I advised her their company was a sham, not trustworthy and not reliable. MY CAR HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL I TOOK IT TO THEM. ALL OF MY SERVICE CALLS ARE DOCUMENTED BY OTHERS but I guess, if you don't use 1001 Engines... parts guy and their shop, then NO ONE ELSE IN THE WORLD IS QUALIFIED TO DO ANY WORK. I am very disappointed in their service and workmanship. I will NEVER USE, NOR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE I KNOW. read more
