We would pay double!!…read more Though excited I didn't know what to expect the night we went to watch the preliminary 'clip' (or trailer) of our wedding video from Departing Line Studios. I knew they were awesome and a lot of fun while capturing our wedding day, but I've seen wedding videos in the past that were all very predictable and seemingly all the same. BUT after watching just the trailer alone - I stand corrected. Jeremy should be showing Kubrick and Scorcese how it's done! Our video trailer was truly EXCITING to watch and not just because it's OURS but because it is a piece of cinematic ART! I mean my hubby and I were there and obviously played a large role in the whole event but we were left guessing what was next, sitting on the edges of our seats completely enthralled in the video footage that played out in front of us wanting more! That being said... Once we were able to watch the entire video... WOW! Hands down it was theee thing that we were most excited about after the big day. It is something we still agree was the best decision we made when planning the wedding. Wedding pictures are amazing to have around for memories (believe me we had a phenomenal photographer and our pix are beautiful) but even our favorite photos pale in comparison to the wedding video. The video and trailer have several times allowed us to RE-live the moments from that special day. It's truly magical. When we watch the video (which we and our loved ones have done several times now) we find ourselves laughing, giggling, crying, kissing, laughing more, etc. Words cannot even describe the appreciation we have for Departing Line Studios with what they put together for us. We are forever grateful to them for capturing our story like they did and then to put everything together the way that they did afterwards to make it retell not just any story but OUR STORY. I know that many couples like us may be hesitant when booking videographers (and other large ticket services) as we all realize early on, prices add up quickly over the entire spectrum of planning an event. I understand, they do but please trust me when I say that if you decide to go with Departing Line Studios for videography there will be no regrets what so ever. In fact after witnessing their work... My husband and I would have gladly paid double. We have NOT ONCE regretted booking Departing Line Studios for our videography nor will we ever. All the remaining décor is in boxes in the basement, the dress ended up in a garbage bag when leaving the hotel the following morning (don't judge ladies yours might too... lol), the cake and leftovers went home with friends and loved ones but all in all after the BIG DAY we weren't left holding on to much other than each other. Now... With the video we can go back and appreciate the dinner, cake and the cutting of the cake. When I want to watch our guests mingling around the room with the decorations placed ever so carefully I can. When I want to look at my dress and watch how it flowed around the room/dance floor all night I can. When we want to relive the "I Dos" we can. When I want to watch the look on my hubby's face when my father walked me down the aisle to him - I can... over and over and over. I'm sure you get it. The video of our wedding day is amazing and is something that we will treasure forever and ever. I waited until I had our video and pictures…read morein my hand before submitting this review, in fear this company would somehow sabotage them in spite of me giving my opinion. Swensens is not worth the amount frustration you will deal with in using this company. Here is everything that went wrong. Poor lack of communication after receiving first half of payment for services. No communication and constant missed emails on Paul Swensens part after the final payment. Neither Paul or any of his employees knew 2 days prior to my wedding what we wanted for songs or pictures after we spent hours filling out paperwork and sent it in weeks prior. Photographers Mike and Yolonda threw personal belongings on the floor while photographing and didn't clean up the mess they created. Yolonda also fed herself at the reception before any of my guests had been called up, say at our guests table and ate in front of them. Completely disgusting in my opinion. The DJ ruined my whole day. Eric is unprofessional and way under qualified for working a wedding. 1. He didn't look at our paperwork because he asked before the ceremony what songs we were walking down to and at the reception he asked again for the songs we'd be introduced to and our first dances. 2. The DJ introduced us as "MR. MRS. BLISS" Our last name is BIST 3. He messed up the bridal party song 4. He messed up my Father Daughter dance 5. He did not play the one and only song my husband requested that was highlighted on the paperwork 6. His streaming source is YOUTUBE. 7. His music glitched all night. 8. He still has never apologized 9. His attitude was repulsive The videographer had horrible body oder all night and the photo booth tech had terrible breath. Six weeks passed by after our wedding and I had not been contacted once by Paul about the editing of our pictures, or to extend an apology for our night having so many malfunctions. It took a total of 75 days to have everything in my possession and he edited out the mess up from my raw footage. Sneaky and deceitful on top of sloppy. My friends and family all witnessed everything that went wrong. Several of them wrote a review on their experience. This pissed Paul off. He told me that because of the reviews and opinions of our friends and family, and because of the rating drop on Google, he was not going to compensate us for the DJ's many mistakes. In fact, he said that had we made the reviews go away or said nothing at all, that he would have threw money our way because he had "deep pockets". Paul told us we were lying about everything in this review. The validity of our complaints were not cared for at all. Again, he did not work my wedding but he'll protect his brothers good name at all cost no matter how horrible he is as a DJ. Please don't put yourself in the same position we did. Go somewhere else and spend more money. This clown car company will 100% take your money and ruin your day. Enclosed are several pictures of the amount of communications that went ignored or overlooked. As well, there is a picture of their sad attempt of an apology and a picture of Herb the videographer literally losing it over equipment failures. Lastly I've included a photo of my dress they captured. Off to the right you'll notice my Sketchers flipflop in the middle of the floor. That is the quality of work you get from Swensens. 75 days for them to completely miss this while snapping the photo AND editing.

I understand they are a small family owned business, but the excuses that came (closing on a house, weekends booked, holidays) and the lack of promising to reedit the pictures and not following through has left my niece so upset. The pictures are not ANYTHING what they advertised on their sites. The saturation was so awful they were either so red or so yellow and GRAINY. We will now pay for someone else to FIX what can be fixed. Also just a heads up...do not count on them to get all the typical shots a photographer should take. The only picture they took of the entire wedding party was the toast. Surely did not think that we needed to say hey get this shot get this shot, etc. They could have re-edited the pictures and sent them to her to make it right...but they did not.

The people in the office are very nice and helpful through the process of choosing your professionals for your wedding day, making payments, pre-wedding planning, post-wedding music selections... they were great on everything! We hired 2 wedding photgraphers and a videographer. They arrived at the location for pre-wedding pictures on time (actually they were early). They gave us very good direction during the photo/video session. In the house we were getting ready they even moved stuff around to make sure we would have great pictures. On the phone conversation with Ilze, our main photographer, I explained to her the big problem I have about having my eyes closed in most pictures. She listened and made sure to check that she had good shots with my eyes open. She was also very efficient through formal family and romantic pictures to make sure we could have the pictures done within our short time frame ( a bit over 1 hour). She was very friendly and the pictures turned out amazing!! Tracy, our second photographer, also did an amazing job! She took great shots of the guys before the cerimony. I also loved how well she captured the details of the decoration in the reception venue.. the centerpieces, the guest book, the cake, the gift table... all the details we spend so much time planning but we barely get to enjoy during the wedding and now we can remember them forever through her pictures. Patruck was our videographer, he was also very nice, from the phone conversation till the end of the wedding. We still didn't receive our wedding video, but i am 100% sure it will be amazing just like everything that Mike Staff have done.
