So they did not disappoint. The wedding day -- ... We had our Viet/Chinese traditional wedding where we had to wake up bright and early (5AM). 102 team (We had Hy, Jason and Huu) arrived on time or even earlier and started taking pictures as I was getting ready... The day was long - approx 16 hours and they were there throughout it all... I didn't have to worry about them, they followed us around like we were Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt making us feel like celebrities...The end result -- the photos came out beautiful and my parents were very please.... Wedding photography doesn't get any better than this. My (new) husband and I interviewed so many photographers and got to the point where we felt like we had to settle for someone. BUT THEN we met 102, who came recommended from a friend. And WOW. We were amazed from just the initial meeting! Hy and Jason had an impeccable attention to detail, showed us all of their work from beginning to end (not just highlights of their best photos), and spent time answering all of our questions. They were also willing to travel with us to Southern California, no hesitation. By the end of the meeting, we knew who we were booking. Our package included an engagement photo session. They suggested San Francisco and it was such a great idea! We loved how the photos turned out. Hy and Jason spent ALL day with us and took us to four or five different spots around San Francisco. They were so easy going, fun, artistic, and professional. They seriously go above and beyond for a good photo. By the end of the day, and after only seeing snippets of photos they took, we knew we made the right decision for our upcoming wedding. Our entire wedding party (8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, 2 flower girls) loved working with the team!! They were so much fun! They also gave direction when we needed it, showed us how to pose, and never missed a good photo op. The team jived well with our other vendors, including our wedding coordinator and makeup artist. Planning a reception in Westminster when you live in San Jose is SO tough. But I told my husband, if all else fails, at least we'll have amazing photos! And we do!! On the day of, I was stressed out with last minute changes and mini disasters. But 102 showed up that morning and it was an instant sense of reassurance. No joke. They make you feel so at ease! We had a couple of hours in between the tea ceremony and reception, so Hy and Jason suggested we go to Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach. Everything started back in September 2012 when I was looking for photographers for our engagement celebration in November 2012. Honestly, I contacted several photographers, and they were booked. I submitted a request form on www.102photography.com and got response within 24 hours as indicated on the website. Things worked out well, so we booked them with a thought (at the time) that we would just try them out for this smaller event and would probably find more popular ones for our wedding. On our engagement celebration, the two photographers Khanh and Hy arrived right on time and started working right away. I did email them the night before what I wanted to be captured, and they did not disappoint me. The pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL. We got compliments from family and friends and even strangers. Yes, we went to a wedding and some strangers said "Congratulations" to us and said that we didn't know them but they saw our engagement pictures online (Facebook), and they were so beautiful. We were so happy and satisfied with what 102 had delivered, so we decided to book them again for our wedding with a session of outdoor photo shoot 5 months before our wedding. We then met another photographer Jason and again Khanh and Hy. They were hilarious. They made the day flow so smooth and fun. They joked around to keep us comfortable and relaxed. It was such a fun day! I want to do it again. Oh, the day before the outdoor photo shoot, Hy asked me to send him pictures of all the outfits and props that we are going to use for the photo day. Also, he was there to get to know the bridal party so everyone will get along well on the big day. So on our wedding day, Hy and Khanh showed up on time to the hotel where we got ready. Both the groom and I (the bride) got ready at the same hotel, so we had to plan well not to bump into one another. And Hy was totally going along with me on that. As we were heading out to church, He walked first to make sure there was no groom around and made a signal for me to follow. And Hy and Khanh also drove me to church. Yes, I asked them the in advance and they agreed. So it worked out perfectly. The ceremony was at 11am in the morning at church and reception was at 6pm at the hotel. Khanh and Hy spent the hotel day with us from morning to mid-night. I felt so bad that they did not have time to eat dinner because we had a lot of things going on that they needed to capture non-stop. They were still very happy. And they said "work is priority" and told me not to worry about it. After the grand exit with sparklers, we planned to jump into the pool with our dress and tux on. So Hy and Khanh were also well-prepared for that. They were excited and all in even thou it was mid-night already. Hard work always paid off well. We got a lot of amazing pictures in the pool. It was one of the best decisions. Yes, we have worked with 102Photography on several big life events, and they never failed to please us. We were worried that this would ruin our photos, but the 102 team was very easy to work with as they are all very amiable people. They know how to make their subject feel comfortable, which is something you simply can't put a price on, especially for those of you who are shy. We are not very creative when it comes to posing so it was a great experience having photographers who could suggest poses that fit our personality. When we could think of a pose that we wanted to do, the 102 team would go along with it, never showing any signs of discouragement or annoyance. We just completed our e-session and had such a great experience we thought what would be a better way to thank the 102 team than to write them their very first Yelp review. I was extremely nervous about the photo shoot being that I'm always uncomfortable and awkward in front of the camera. My hands were literally shaking the morning of with the thought of having to pose the whole day. How do I stand? Where should my hands go? How wide should my smile be? Darn, this whole "modeling" thing is no joke. Nevertheless, I grew to enjoy the experience because the 102 crew was extremely patient with us. And toward midday we were actually having fun. Who would have thought? Below were the highlights of our experience with 102: 1. They're willing to spend as much time as you want. We were never pressured about the time limit. 2. They have a great 'can do' attitude. We had made props for the photo shoot and certain 'shots' we would like to do and they were very welcoming of our ideas and even suggesting their own takes on the ideas. 3. Throughout the session they would show us what they had captured and asked for our feedback. If you're not completely satisfied, they would gladly re-do it. We love what we see so far. 4. Jason and Hy have a great passion for photography and it showed in their work. And if you have the chance to talk to them about photography, you'll find that they continuously find ways to improve their techniques. Their different but complementary styles also mean that you'll get more options. Jason's strength is in landscape, whereas Hy's strength is in the details and portrait. In the end, you get the best of both world. 5. Where else do you get 3 photographers all to yourself? Hy and Jason have an assistant who helps them on their shoot. A passerby was in awe that we have 3 photographers. 6. Tien, the coordinator, was great with scheduling the day which helped make the day flow smoothly. I emailed her a couple of locations we wanted to shoot at and asked for help with the logistic details of the day. She emailed back with a detailed schedule with the timeline and sequence of location. They're relatively new to the wedding photography field so their rates are extremely reasonable for the level of their work quality. on September 22, me and my fiance had our engagement/pre-wedding photo-shoot. I had been nervous and worried for the past week leading up to the date, because I feel that I am awkward and not photogenic at all :p (fiance was pretty nervous/stiff as well). Prior to the date, I had contacted the 102 team regarding my worries and was assured that everything would be great and fun and not to worry. They even took the time to meet up to discuss the details of how the day would be like. This helped a lot because we had time to get to know a bit about the team and they got to know a bit about us and what we both liked and expected. Any questions we had were answered and Hy gave valuable tips and advice for a successful shoot. As soon as hair and make up was done, the team met us at our home, on time and ready to go. We headed to our location, and after Hy and Jason took time to scope out the structures/scenes we were interested in, shooting began right away. Hy and Jason gave simple directions on how to pose, and helped us each and every time. We felt really comfortable right away and never felt the need to question anything they were doing. We were also told to relax and just feel the moment and have fun with the shoot. Before they shot any photos, they made sure that everything about the shot was perfect, the angle/body positioning/lighting/etc. I am surprised at how many different poses they put us in, it is tough work! But the whole day was so fun and I could have gone on even longer :D The entire time of the shoot, they communicated with us and did their thing. We all laughed a lot as well throughout and felt very at ease. They never seemed rushed or annoyed, and ended the shoot when we were ready to end. Let me began by saying...I didn't think I would miss taking pictures! The thought hit me before my wedding. What if I want more beautiful pictures after my wedding? Lol. With all jokes aside. I don't remember how I found 102 Photography, but I did. I talked to at least 5 photographers before I meet them, then I met up with 3 that I like. My fiancé (at the time) and I picked 102 Photography solely because they don't do it for a living; they do it because it's their passion. I'm si glad we were able to book Hy and his team gor our special day. Hy did an amazing job with out E session photos and on the day of our wedding. I can tell that he's very passionate in the things he does. For our E sessiin, I didn't want to go to two location since I was lazy and tired but Hy was able to convince me to go. Quote "you're already doll up and it will be nice to shoot at 2 locations. Dont be lazy. Let's do this" (NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE). I was really looking forward to my consultation with this company but was incredibly disappointed when the day of my consultation arrived. I live in another state, and so contacted 102 in October of last year to set up an appointment for December when I would be in California visiting family. Tina responded right away and was very attentive. We quickly set up a meeting for a Thursday afternoon in December. I liked these photographers mostly because of their price- $1800 for 2 photographers. I'd done a ton of research on Bay Area photographers and couldn't find any whose photos were as good as 102 for the price they charged. In the days leading up to my appointment, I still had not heard anything from them, while the other photographers I set up appointments with emailed me with reminders about our meetings. On the day of our appointment, no one showed up! I called Tina after 15 minutes of waiting and left a message. It wasn't until six hours later did she finally call back. Rather than apologize profusely first, she accused me of being confused because they all have "full time jobs" and "never book appointments during the week". I told her that she and I exchanged several emails in October about this meeting date and time. If they didn't book appointments on weekdays, why would she agree to meet me on a Thursday? She sort of apologized and asked if I wanted to reschedule. Really? I don't think it's appropriate or fair to me to have another meeting with you when I was already stood up for a meeting we booked two months in advance. If that's the level of professionalism they bring, I certainly don't want to have that at my wedding. 102 may have great photos and charge a really low price, but be forewarned: if you book an appointment on a weekday, they won't show up. read more

My wife and I hired 102 to be our wedding photographers and we got the full photography package. We had the outdoor photo shoot first and in the beginning, nothing was going to plan. The initial place we met at was too windy and none of the shots were looking nice. We decided to take the outdoor photo shoot to San Francisco. As we drove to the city, lucky us, there was a protest. We literally got stuck in one spot for an hour without moving. Please note, nothing above is 102's fault. We finally get to a destination at 1pm, original start time was suppose to be 10am. We were afraid we weren't going to have enough photos. When Jason first saw us, he said "don't worry guys, we will do another full day, but let's pick a weekday when it's less crowded." This is not Jason trying to sell me an extra day of his work, this is something they did for us completely free. He then went on and took us to 4 different locations and we ended our first outdoor photo shoot. Attempt two, outdoor photo shoot: Hy and Jason took us on a full day back in the city at another 4 locations and believe me when we put all the photos from the two days together, it was something amazing. In my head, there's no way the service can get better. I was wrong. Hy was the main photographer on our wedding day, but really he does a lot more than that. We had a full 16 hour day with two ceremonies, traditional outdoor ceremony and a reception. Hy arrived at the bride's location on time and Andy the other shooter arrived at the groom's location a bit earlier. Both families weren't sure how things needed to work during the tea ceremony, but Hy and his team always directed us where to go and what to do to make everything go smoothly. When we took a break for lunch, they took all the detail shots of the jewelry, gifts, etc...I literally had to tell them to take a break and eat. As this review is getting way too long, that was the kind of service we received all night. My wife and I couldn't be happier to have hired them as our photograph. We have not received our wedding photographs as our wedding was only two days ago but will update this review when we do. read more

As we were shopping around for a photographer for our wedding, we came across 102 Photography. We were very pleased at the initial meeting and decided to go with them. The pricing and their quality of work was phenomenal! Jason and his whole team will do what it takes to get that PERFECT shot for you. Jason was very patient with me as I waited months to finalize my wedding album. My wedding was in January but I kept pushing back on finalizing my wedding album and received it in July. Hy is extremely thorough and professional. during our consultation he kept asking us if we had questions and we kept saying no. it was because he was so thorough and on top of everything that we felt so at eased. you can tell hy cares about his work and his clients. hy is also detail oriented and has a lot of experience. unfortunately i had a typo and gave him the wrong date, hence that date was already booked. but even so, he gave us a referral for a similar photographer and would check in to make sure i got it. you know you're in good hands when you have Hy. i highly recommend him! read more

We're from Colorado, heard about 102 photography from a family member in San Jose, CA. With a small budget, we thought to give it a try and since the price was really affordable so we didn't expect much with the outcome (old saying: you pay what you get). Guess what, the team was too enthusiastic that we could not even keep up with, they are super friendly. Their passion and their work is extremely amazing. Pictures are awesomely awesome. EEEk! I cannot express how happy I am to have found 102 Photography!! I found them through a friend of mine and booked a wedding package with them. I was like whatever at first thinking their work would be okay...But on our first E session, they impressed me. I told one of the photographer Hy Le I wanted to do a SF city theme and also I want horses/fairy tale like shoot and boom! he delivered! They are so easy to work with. No complaints whatever unlike other photographers who would tell you no this and no that. Then on the second E session (i know, i know, they make me wanna take more and more), I told them I wanted to do vintage theme, which they have never done before, and they BLEW me away. We also got to shoot with a classic car. Again, these themes they have never done before but were willing to try anything and it came out like they have done it for years!
