I did my maternity, boudoir and twice for newborn with family photoshoot here. Vish and Kushali are amazing tandem they're very Hands on and give great ideas during our photoshoot with them. They give honest review about how to pose, the photo background and outfit and great ideas in between! My kids are hard to deal with during photoshoot but they handle it with grace and able to let my kids participate in our photoshoot. All of our photos came back amazing! Vish is great with editing and they're generous enough to re-edited our photos when I requested and give a bonus image when he forgot to edit some of my newborn's pictures. The wait of getting the pictures is a bit long but worth it! Two-thumbs up for their hardwork and skills. Disappointing Maternity & Newborn Photoshoot Experience We had a very disappointing experience across both our maternity and newborn photoshoots. For the maternity session, there was no proper pre-discussion about locations or outfits. We were simply asked to choose from previously taken images, which felt impersonal. During the shoot, the session felt rushed, and the photographer appeared disengaged, as if they wanted to finish early. From a 2-hour session, we could barely select around 10 usable images, which reflects the overall quality. We also noticed technical issues with the camera, including frequent error messages during burst shots. For the newborn session, we had informed them in advance that we would be about 30 minutes late due to our baby's doctor appointment. Despite this, one of the planned props was removed, which felt inflexible given the circumstances. There was also a significant delay of about four weeks beyond the expected timeline in delivering the edited images, without clear communication or accountability. After delivery, communication continued to be frustrating. We received emails indicating additional charges if image selections were not made within 30 days, which felt pressured--especially considering the delay in delivery was on their side. At the same time, when we requested a re-edit for one of the selected images, we had to follow up multiple times and did not receive timely responses. Additionally, some comments made during the newborn shoot were uncomfortable and inappropriate. Remarks about the baby's skin tone and comments regarding the mother's feeding choices were hurtful and unexpected, especially for a one-month-old baby. We expected a much more respectful and sensitive environment. There was also no prior discussion about props for the newborn shoot -- only a couple of setups were pre-arranged, and we felt limited to those options. Similar to the maternity shoot, the overall photography quality did not meet expectations. From a 1.5-hour session, we could barely select around 15 images, and the editing felt very basic, with some images appearing minimally edited. Given our experience, the overall service felt unprofessional, inflexible, and lacking in quality. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments, and we expected a much more thoughtful, skilled, and supportive experience. Also, please don't go based on Instagram followers alone -- our experience did not reflect the expectations set by their online presence. If you are looking for a photographer who communicates well, provides guidance, and creates a comfortable and enjoyable session -- especially with a newborn -- this may not be the right fit. read more

I got the newborn photoshoot of my baby done here and was extremely disappointed by the process as well as the quality of the pictures. Firstly the edited pictures took ages to come - 9 weeks!!! That too after I followed up multiple times over email and phone and many of those times got no response from them! My baby was no longer a newborn by the time I got the newborn pictures of her! When the pictures arrived, I was shocked how ugly and disgusting the edits were! They were super saturated and edited to make the baby look very unnaturally white! After asking them to make some specific changes to the pictures the pictures were slightly better, but still not good! By this my baby was past newborn phase and I couldn't even get another newborn photoshoot done at a different place. All previous photoshoot businesses I worked with for newborn as well as maternity were a thousand times better even though slightly pricier. I would not recommend this business just to a save a few bucks and lose out on the precious newborn phase captures of a baby! read more

I wanted to love photouncle so bad but unfortunately I have been left extremely disappointed with my experience. I got my maternity shoot taken on August 24th with my husband and son. The photo taking went well and they sent me a text telling me the vision/ editing we agreed on, very clearly. Fast forward 8 weeks I did not receive my pictures. Another week later (9 weeks after photo selection), I messaged them and received no response.. a few days later I messaged again. After an email as well I TRULY thought I had been scammed. Finally I call and was told they'd text me that day to give me an update, guess what? NO update. I texted them again the next day as a reminder and FINALLY I was told it would take another few days. At this point my newborn was a week or two old and there was no chance I'd even considering a new born photoshoot with them. I find it super unprofessional when there is a lack of communication. In my attempts to reach out I clearly said to just let me know if more time is needed, that could've required a simple 5 word sentence, "we need more time, sorry!". Especially if it's past the time frame you say photos will be done. Finally I received my pictures, which are NOT edited the way we agreed on.. Sure, they corrected the background to a few and added a few edited photos but that seems like a bare minimum. The edited photos just looked blurred with a background added, no further editing was done. (For example, my lighter skin belly didn't match my face, my undergarments were clearly visible-other maternity photographers will add a shadow). I later realized another picture was not edited the way we agreed on and of course, I've been ghosted yet again after 1 month- no response... I'm a reasonable person but ultimately the price, time to receive the photos, lack of communication, poorly edited photos have resulted in me feeling pushed to share this experience. We hired photo uncle team for a newborn photo shoot at the last minute before the baby was going to turn 2 weeks and we are so happy that we chose their team: Helpful consultation and Very Responsive: Their team is very responsive to messages on all platforms which is great given the limited window available for newborn shoot. They helped us schedule the photo shoot at the last minute, the initial consultation was quite detailed, all details regarding the package were properly covered and at the end of the process the understanding they had of what we wanted from the photo shoot was very impressive. Charming team: As parents you may go in expecting something specific from a newborn photo shoot but of course babies have their own wishes and they are the BOSS. Kush and Vishv were so patient during the long photo shoot, we could see how much effort it was to calm the baby and settle him in every pose. Photographers are artists. They either have a style of their finished product you'll enjoy or they don't. Photo Uncle (Kushali and Vish) definitely HAS IT! Kushali and Vish were very accommodating from the moment we made contact, to booking and sessions, all the way to the delivery of the photos. We opted for the package that had both Maternity & newborn photoshoots included. We had our maternity photoshoot, and the result was extraordinary. Special Kudos to Vish because the weather was not so great on the day of Photoshoot (well.. it's Bay Area) but the final pictures were so warm & bright. Result of our baby's photoshoot was magic again! Kushali is like a baby whisperer... baby kept on sleeping and smiling during the whole time. She single handedly planned, directed & posed so many cute photos of our baby. Super efficient. Not to mention she had a ton of outfits to choose from. Vish is one amazing photographer. Not only is he naturally good with the camera, but he is also great at capturing moments. Taking a picture is one thing (we all have iPhones) but capturing the essence of a subject is a whole other skill - one that Vish possesses and is superb at it. He keeps the mood light, energy levels high and the overall experience total fun. Kushali and Vish's preparation, patience, and professionalism was demonstrated throughout the process. Photographer was late to my appt. I had to call him to remind him of the appt and sit in my car and wait for him to arrive. Studio was jenky and on the side of a house (not obvious where to go when you arrive at the address) I told him what I wanted for a headshot, he disagreed and went another direction. Changing room minuscule. Took several photos but none were great or anything I would want to present. One followup afterwards but nothing more. Will stick with my former photographer who is more expensive but superior quality. read more

At the very last minute I decided I wanted to do a holiday photo shoot for my family. I found PhotoUncle on Thumbtack for an appointment within 48 hours. I requested a slightly-cheesey "JC Penney"-style shoot and Vish totally delivered! His in-home studio has a variety of backdrops and props, and he kindly provided water. The package he offered us included all of the RAW files which was a fantastic deal and enabled me to see that in addition to the "good" shots, the "outtakes" in some ways created the best story. His edits were generous and fast as well. This was my first experience on Thumbtack and I was a bit nervous about showing up to a stranger's house with my kids, but I had zero reason to be - Vish was great! Kushali helped us meticulously plan and execute the most perfect cake smash session at their studio. The decorations were simple, elegant and inline with theme (we've already received a ton of compliments from our friends and family) They made us and our baby feel comfortable, so much so that our daughter smashed the entire cake and created a giant mess.They were very patient during the entire shoot and did everything in their capacity to entertain our baby. I booked a newborn and family photoshoot with Photouncle for early sept baby. I personally visited there home studio and discussed with Kushali that I would like to do a family photoshoot as well after newborn. Everything was clear and she was so sweet to talk to. She was trying to sell us maternity package as well, which we politely declined as that was not in our budget. I had all conversations with Kushali either on phone or text, unfortunately no email. I paid $100 booking amount and confirmed her on text that I would like to do both newborn and family. I also mentioned and confirmed that family would include babies uncle, aunt and nephew, which she agreed for. Once our baby was born I texted her to let her know and fix our photoshoot date. I also asked her to let us know what time should babies uncle and aunt come. To my surprise she said that we are not including anyone except parents and started giving excuses that she has little kids and she can't have everyone in the studio. It got to my nerves as I was totally embarrassed in front of my sister and brother-in-law that my photographer is not ready to include them. I immediately called Kushali and she was so rude, at that time I hardly had any option and somehow I pulled some texts in which and asked her to look at those to prove that she had agreed for the family photoshoot with uncle aunt. The time we reached the studio, her behavior was so cold and was hardly welcoming. Had it not been for the newborn shoot (which is time sensitive), we would have left the studio without worrying about $100 advance. I knew I had no option and wanted to get the photoshoot done. The package had 2-3 props and she would rudely ask us to decide colors etc and start the shoot. For third prop I wanted baby without outfit pics, but she was in no mood to do third and would not put any effort in calming the baby or give us space to calm the baby. If you are looking for a session where you are provided optimum break times to calm new born then this is not the right place. Contrary to other places where they are very accommodating in the same price range. She just said your time for newborn is over and we should begin family photoshoot. I was anyway recovering post surgery and had no energy to push further. I had asked for a gown for myself and the gown I selected had a stain, for which she said it won't show up in pictures. I wonder why should I pay even to try a stained gown. Anyway I wore my own clothes. Unfortunately I had horrible experience with her. I am just writing this review so that if you are working with her, please make sure you get everything written in email. Vish did our family shoot alone and he is indeed nice to work with. His photography skills are good. Once we got the edited pictures, I requested them to edit one more picture within the time frame they had given us to ask for changes. They never responded to the request. I noticed some shadows in one picture and asked them to fix it. They never responded that email as well. The only good part about the photoshoot was that The pictures were good and I had to keep all my patience to get those. It really scares me that I could have totally missed on a well planned photoshoot of newborn because of her. I would not work with them in future or recommend them to my friends. read more

I had seen their ad on Instagram and was surprised that they were in my same city and while looking at his portfolio his pictures were stunning. I took my maternity shoot and they were really helpful in the creative process which I appreciate because I never have a sense of direction while taking photos and my my I looked gorgeous and stunning!!!
