We splurged on the charcuterie board upon arrival which was 100% worth it. From 4-5pm they had happy hour with complementary wine and appetizers. The Inn owners were so nice and offered great recommendations for things to see and do in the area. We took their suggestion to have dinner at Salt and Cyprus with waterfront views and great cocktails. In the morning, the inn's breakfast was perfect. Fresh fruit, homemade muffin, coffee, juice, biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs. With our short stay, we ran out of time to try out their fire pits and take a bike ride through town. Next time we'll have to stay at least two nights!

There spare no expense to make the guests feel like royalty. First of all, high end coffee machine, fresh made cookies every day, ice cream sandwiches in the freezer... Then, the breakfasts are like dining in a Michelin star restaurant. Easily would be $25-30 in a restaurant. They have a happy hour(s) each night from 4 to 6 and serve 3-4 high quality wines and an assortment of local and regional beers. David and Tania are amazing hosts and we will definitely be back. There is lost to do and see in this area and the White Doe is a perfect hub for all things north OBX.

The original owner was very kind to people who needed a place to stay, so he would sometimes give tenants work. A way of singing for your supper. The art in the lobby was done by one of the tenants in lue of paying for his rent. When the business was sold, the new owners thought it to be a good idea to hold onto it for its historical value of this awesome hotel.

The one recommendation I will make is that the houses need mirrors in the guest rooms. That was a huge issue for the wedding party, family members and friends staying in the houses. We ended up buying some for our stay since the only mirrors were in the small bathrooms. Also, there isn't any area for guests to park and most surrounding areas are 'Tow Zones'. We found spots but they were 2 blocks from the house which was inconvenient. This is a wonderful location for large families, perhaps reunions, or just a vacation.

The grounds are beautiful with plenty of blooming flowers and green space to enjoy yourself and hang out. I had to go to the front desk and ask and while I was there another guy said, yep couldn't figure it our. It is in the middle of the mirror. 5-Large stain on ceiling. 6-Could use another hook for the towel in the bathroom. Only one hook to hang a towel is not helpful when you have two people and you want us to reuse your towels. Otherwise stay was pleasant, bed comfortable. I was disappointed that they didn't offer me a ten percent discount for not having Wi-Fi, a working phone, and a lock that did not LOCK. June 2025
