Working with the team at 111 was a great experience, having the tasting menu and trying out the items in advanced allowed us to feel confident in our aps, dinner items and desserts. Corbin led us thru the tasting ensure we gave thought to other items and shared his experiences at other weddings to ensure the best outcome. The day of service was spectacular! Wow. What a pleasure it was to work with 111 Maine and eat their food at our wedding! A month later and guests are still telling us how great the food was. Not only was the food fabulous, but we were so incredibly impressed with the team - from the owner Jennifer to her staff onsite the day of.....they blew us away. They really thought of everything and the cocktail hour, dinner and bar service were just perfect. At one point during the cocktail hour, one of the servers came up to ask me what I wanted to sample and brought me a plate of appetizers - knowing how hard it is for the bride and groom to actually eat on their own wedding day. My husband and I are huge foodies, so food was something that was very important to us on our wedding day. Jennifer, Ian, and team were amazing to work with, and we were so happy with our wedding food! Between the tasting and our wedding day, everything was absolutely delicious. We felt like we had a full say in our wedding menu and were even able to come up with a few custom items that Jennifer and Ian so generously agreed to. Our wedding became a bit chaotic due to an extreme downpour just before the start of our wedding ceremony. We found out over a year later that the power supply had actually gone out briefly - probably making it even more chaotic! You wouldn't have known it with this team. Additionally, one of our guests needed medical help during dinner hour. Ian immediately jumped up to help by calling 911 and assisting. The 111 Maine team was outstanding - they truly went above and beyond to make our day amazing; Things like shuffling around bars because of the rain after set-up, rushing to pull down all of the sides of the wedding tent so that tablecloths and chairs didn't become wet, and I'm sure so much more that we never knew about. I recently hired 111 Maine to cater a memorial reception. All our contact was via email and phone as I was arranging this event from Boston and the reception was to be held in Harpswell. Amanda was extremely helpful and attentive in the planning stages. They arranged for and managed all the rental items (glasses, dishes, tables, linens) as well as prepared a gourmet buffet. The servers were seemingly invisible yet always attentive during the reception. The food was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. Each time a glass or plate was put down, it magically was picked up. September 16, 2018 our daughter got married in Camden, Maine. It was a beautiful day. The weather cooperated and after that the party started. Gina chose 111 Maine as her caterer. We are from Chicago and did all the vendor choices through reviews. We went to Topsham in April for a tasting. Wow, we were not disappointed. Appetizers were fabulous. The ravioli, well let's just say you must try these with their makers mark cream sauce. The beef and haddock were cooked to perfection. The fresh vegetables were equally outstanding. We can't thank Jen and her staff enough. When you ask someone how was the wedding the first thing they comment on is the food. This was the BEST food we have ever had at any wedding. Based on positive online reviews, I contacted 111 about catering my wedding next summer. Initially, they were great and easy to work with. They assured me that my date was available and we went back and forth on menu revisions for a couple months. Just as we were ready to sign a contract and submit a deposit, they abruptly emailed me to tell me they had booked another client for that date with no explanation or apology. There was no warning and we had been discussing and revising my wedding menu for the two months preceding with every indication that they would be our wedding caterer. I would have at the very least expected them to contact me if there was any other interest in that date instead of just sending a two sentence email saying they couldn't do it. I found this completely unprofessional and rude! It is getting much later in the game to find a caterer and they must know that. I'm usually of the mindset that unless you have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. BUT I want to warn future couples about this so they don't have the same misfortune... read more
