We rented a 1-bedroom corner apartment on the 2nd floor facing the beach. The view out all 3…read morewindows was of the ocean, just steps from the beach and boardwalk. Sea Downs also has a pool which was a nice addition since we weren't sure our son would like the ocean. The pool was just fine, although it didn't face the beach but rather was behind the building. The A/C in the apartment worked so well we found ourselves turning the temp setting up. There's free WIFI. The apartment was extremely clean and well maintained. The king bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels appeared new(er). The small kitchen was fully stocked with stove, toaster, microwave, coffee machine as well as pots, pans, dishes, glasses & silverware. The fridge is full-sized. The kitchen table doubled as our games table. The couch opens into a futon where our 7-year old slept. It wasn't as easy to maneuver than we might have liked but my son seemed comfortable. There was a desk (we mainly used the drawers as extra storage) and a TV in the living room area, as well as 2 additional chairs. The tub didn't drain very well which initially we attributed to the age of the building. However, when it stopped draining altogether, we contacted the office. Leslie was very pleasant and sent someone right up. Bob (?) worked on it for at least an hour and thought that he hadn't fixed the problem. We were offered the opportunity to move to a vacant apartment with pretty much the same layout but not the corner ocean view. We opted to stay since the water did drain after all, albeit slowly. Sue, who brings towels and empties garbage, is quite nice as well. We were really pleased that we chose Sea Downs and would definitely come again. A few minor issues to note: - Although the rattan furniture is well kept, the drawers are horrible. They don't pull out straight and it's too easy to pull them out when you just want to open one. - As noted above, the couch/futon isn't very easy to use. - Note that you need to send a check as a deposit an have CASH (or bank check) for the remainder when you arrive. The apartment we rented (in August) was just over $1,000 for 7 nites.

She initially tried to take away my last night after I extended my trip with her and already changed my flight. Her reasoning was the busy 4th of July weekend and wanting to charge higher rates. Her and I went back and forth on this until finally she realized I was in the right. I should have called it quits then and there. Not to mention she takes days to reply to questions. During my stay, the bathroom sink was clogged and continuously overflowed. The bedroom TV barely worked, there were like 5 channels. The Wi-Fi also DID NOT work and I contacted her about these issues with no response at all. She also claimed that there were "beach chairs" but instead I found small camping chairs that don't even recline. They were so uncomfortable I had to go buy one myself, which I left there so if you guys see a green beach chair, you're welcome :) The air quality in the place was also not the best - the ACs did a sub par job cooling the place and whenever I walked into the living room there was a weird smell from the AC. I got a little fed up so decided to try and cancel and leave a few days early to relocate somewhere else. I attempted to cancel online and the system would not let me - I had it in writing on my reservation cancellation policy that I was allowed to cancel and would be refunded the remaining nights 24 hours after I cancel. She was trying to fight this, sent me a nasty message, and I am still currently trying to get my refund. Overall very disappointed. This is also not the first review I've seen about bad communication by Carolina. Do better or don't do this at all! Not even some complimentary waters in the fridge! So many airbnb hosts have been better than this.

It is the closest one in the area to Fort Lauderdale Beach. And they offer "primitive" camping, i.e. in a tent, as well as RV/Camper camping plus all the related facilities. But it's been quite some time since I actually visited this park. Located just west of Powerline Road, you wouldn't have any idea that this 40 plus acre park exists unless you were looking for it. There is no entrance fee during the week, so we were able to come and explore for free. The driving road is one way in a big circle around the park. The park is packed with so much to see and do. For nature lovers, it is part of the Birding and Wildlife Trail. The woodland trail entrance starts from the road. It had been raining a lot recently. We decided it might be a bit muddy to walk as we hadn't come prepared to do so. There are lush green grass areas and shady trees in the main area of the park. For the sports enthusiast there is disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, and shuffleboard. For the kids there are wide open areas to run around in and playgrounds. We know a family who lives locally who recently visited here one weekend for a mini vacation with their new RV and had a blast here. And one of our fellow yelp elites visits often for disc golf. It's a place that can be enjoyed by locals as well as tourists -- whether you're looking to relax or for recreation. We had a lovely leisurely visit here. When the weather is nice, it is a quiet and peaceful retreat from the traffic and city distractions.

One of the best disc golf courses in south Florida…read more I was at John Easterlin park again just last weekend. A group up to throw 18 holes. I arrived right at 8 when they opened. After checking in its a a small drive around the whole park to the parking for the 1st hole. I was there before the others so I was able to get some practice throws in on their practice hole first. once everyone was there we started the round. There is about 3 water holes, and they are all at the beginning. They arent hard though, it's really about going around the lake. We made it through there fine. after that its a mix of open field joles and others that go through the woods. Almost every hole is doable. I'm not good and I can par most of them. In fact I had 2 birdies that day. The whole course is well maintained. Nothing too fancy but it's taken care of. There are other amenities like a playground, camping, basketball court, and more. But the central attraction to me is the course. Oh, and they have a bonus 19th and 20th holes! Can't beat that.
