They get your drinks and order right away. The food comes out fairly quickly and it is delicious. This is what I would call southern comfort food. Last time we were there, I ordered the spicy fried chicken wrap with onion rings and my husband ordered the three-piece fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole and it came with cornbread. This place is on rotation for our lunch dates.

One of the things I appreciate most about this restaurant is that faith is clearly at the heart of the business. As a Christian, that makes the atmosphere feel especially warm, familiar, and welcoming to me. The service is also wonderful! Everyone is so sweet and attentive. They're always keeping an eye on your table, and it seems like the second your drink gets halfway empty, someone is already on their way with a refill. Great food, wonderful service, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. There's a reason we keep coming back!

This little bbq joint is dishing out some great food at ridiculously low prices - it's likely this is a family owned business with very manageable overhead expenses. The process is as simple as the food, park, walk up to the window place your order, pay, get a pager and find a seat under the pavilion and wait to get buzzed. We just happen upon this place while traveling from Lake Lure to Rutherfordton and now I can't stop thinking about the experience and how in world I didn't visit here several times while camping in the area. There's not doubt this is a local favorite and it's obvious there are no strangers here, the orders come out of the kitchen fairly quickly but there'll be plenty of time to strike up a conversation with one of the locals or someone visiting the area and who was lucky enough to stop in for breakfast or lunch. We choose the bbq sandwich which apparently everyone but me knows that means pulled pork with either white or red coleslaw on a fresh toasted bun, it was absolutely the best bbq'd pulled pork sandwich I've ever eaten, as filling as this sandwich was I probably could have eaten two of them or not have shared.
