Considering there is a shortage of decent restaurants in KM, this is a nice little gem. If anyone visiting our if town asks where to eat, this is my first suggestion. The service is fantastic across the board. I appreciate that they change their seasonal items so things don't get boring. What we found when we arrived was a delightful little modern place, clean and friendly, with a number of good, simple choices. We had a fish sandwich, a burger, and a beet salad, and each of us was pleasantly surprised. We got more than we expected, enough that we mentioned later in the day how much we'd enjoyed our meals. So we original we drove up to King Mountain to go to Thai Hut but they decided to close early so we made our way to 133 West. We were existed to try this place cause it was recommended by a friend. So we walk in and decide to sit at the bar; which we tend to do. Bartender is super friendly, but we wanted Manhattans, she starts to make them but realizes they ran out of sweet vermouth....ok no problem "do you have blue cheese stuffed olives, for Martinis?" .... "No we don't"....ok so i just do a Jack and Coke. We order appetizers, Korean Ribs and Fried Green Tomatoes...ribs came out cold and under cooked and the green tomatoes were nasty and basically were no tomato.....mini tomatoes maybe. For entree i ordered the Short ribs with mashed potatoes and my partner had Butternut squash ravioli. The short ribs were salty as hell, dry, and disgusting and the mashed potatoes were just full of overwhelming horseradish. I didn't even finish it and through it out when i got home......my partner ravioli was under cooked and had no flavor at all. The ambiance was ok, could use a little uniqueness. Very cold environment and needs an interior designer or something. What a waste of money. read more

My friend and I were looking for a new place to try this past weekend and found 133 West on Yelp. The atmosphere was nice -- both inside and outside. It was a nice evening, so we enjoyed the large outdoor seating area. I ordered the 133 Burger. It was cooked just right and the unique toppings made the burger delicious! However, the truffle fries served with it were not warm. My friend ordered the "August" chicken which was half of the smallest chicken breast/wing I have ever seen. It looked like half of a Cornish hen on a bed of Southwest rice. It was served on the smallest plate I have ever seen an entree served on. We could not get over the small portion of his food. I wish I had taken a picture to really capture how minuscule his meal was in size. So that he would have enough for dinner, I cut my burger in half and gave it to him so he have a sufficient amount of food for dinner. So there were several positives: great atmosphere, nice outdoor dining area, service was great and burger was wonderful. However, 133 West needs to strongly consider giving customers a satisfactory portion on the chicken entree for $26. It was just not enough food. read more

My family and went to 133 West for the first time on Mother's Day. I can honestly say that I don't think I have ever felt so ripped off when I left a restaurant as I did leaving here. There were barely any protein options on the sparse Mother's Day menu. They were out of the bananas foster waffles and the not so friendly server told us that as soon as we sat down. We paid 12 or 13 dollars for a Bloody Mary that when you took the ice out of the tall glass I would swear there was enough of a drink to fill a 4 oz glass. My daughter's drink didn't even have any vodka added to her drink so it was so thick she couldn't suck it up through a straw. she had to go up to the and tell them. They said they ran out of house vodka so they did make her a new drink. Before we ordered the $21 salmon eggs Benedict the not so friendly server announced that they were out of it and wondered if we would like crab. What could we say? We answered yes and also ordered the berry salad. A few minutes later the server came back out and said that the Gouda cheese grits were gone and would we like home fries. Sure... I guess that's fine. Our food came and the kids said the chicken tenders tasted like fish. The berry salad was a very heaping mound of spring greens. A few blackberries, a few blueberries and strawberries and a a tiny bit of feta cheese. It certainly wasn't proportionate to the amount of lettuce that was supporting it. It was very disappointing. The dressing was terrible. There was zero flavor in the dressing and it mostly tasted like oil. There wasn't even salt and pepper to season the salad which it needed badly. The 'salmon' that was replaced with crab was terrible. It was like someone threw a few fingers full on the English muffin and put medium to hard poached egg on it. It was such a small amount of crab and such a small egg that it didn't even cover the muffin. The home fries were cold. The ham and poached pear sandwich had a glorious description and it was literally some slices of ham with what seemed like canned pears on it. AND to top it all off there was a hair in my daughter's salad. They did not adjust the bill in any way, shape or form for the fact that they didn't have enough food to serve their patrons. They didn't even offer. 133 West is terribly overpriced and the food was less than mediocre. My family and I will not patronize this restaurant again. read more

I've been to 133 West twice and both times my experience was similar. First and foremost I agree with most of the other reviewers, there is potential for some really great food here. There is definitely some extra attention placed into the quality of product being delivered. Both meals I had almost knocked my socks off. The downside, service can be quite slow. Tends to be a bit of a gathering around the host stand by employees when they could be used better keeping up with customer needs. It is a fairly small venue with limited indoor seating. There was a live performer there on my second visit and it was nice. He wasn't too loud and blaring out our conversations and we were at a table near his performance area. Lastly, the portion sizes can be a bit small for the price. Overall I recommend you give them a try for the quality of the meals. read more

Great small plates. Had the chicken Milanese and the chicken collard green egg rolls. Both were tasty and delicious good sized. The scallops and corn was ok. There was a very large portion of corn and I don't know if they're using frozen corn as the base, but it was juicy corn like fresh, but instead shriveled and hard to eat because the corn skins kept getting stuck in my teeth. Really love this new gem came to town during the pandemic. Bistro serving 5 star dishes with a hometown feel. Have yet to have anything I haven't loved!!! The wings or piglet appetizer are great. From the pork ribeye to the filet and grits to the risotto entrees. All superb dishes. Upscale wine selection- full bar- patio- music- and the desserts are out of this world. Not impressed, unfortunately. A very limited menu, the food was overpriced for the quality and quantity. Chicken salad was a small scoop on lettuce, and contained gristle. Delicious! Our first visit to 133 West did not disappoint. My husband and his friend both had the fried fish sandwich which was crisp and tasty. The fries weren't special but were good enough. The pasta salad was delicious - it is the best pasta salad I've EVER eaten. I had one of today's specials, a pulled pork/pimiento cheese quesadilla. Yummy! Ice tea was fresh. Service was great. I came here for the first time with my boyfriends parents. It was the first time collectively as health care workers we went out to dinner. We sat down and listened to the waitress of almost a full 10 minutes go over the menu. Than every five seconds she kept asking me if I needed a refill. The food came out and it was scallops. Corn. And strawberries. And beans. I shat for days and half my rectum came out of my butthole. Never again. Who puts that all together and makes it 30 dollars a plate. I rather have McDonald's. read more
