I've found my new massage place! I will say, I think I got a deep tissue massage from Coco because I feel like I felt the massage deep into my bones. It was my mistake for not asking for clarification on the massage I was receiving, but I feel like a new woman three days later. I was so zonked that I literally walked out of the spa with the spa shoes on and had to go grab mine! You cannot beat the price, especially if you're paying in cash. As other reviewers have said, this place is very clean but you can hear everything happening in the rooms. It's relatively quiet, unless Michael is answering the phone or someone is entering. I hope to have another massage but I want to make sure I don't get the same massage I had as it was actually painful (I am envious of those who can withstand a deep tissue!!). I used to go to this place all the time, but stopped when I moved. I stopped by today since I was in the neighborhood and had a pretty terrible experience. I booked a deep tissue massage and massage therapist wasn't very good. She was on the phone 80% of the time, sending text messages and voice notes. The massage itself wasn't deep at all, but perhaps it's because she was distracted and only using one hand. I won't be returning. read more

Absolutely love this local staple. Wonderful customer service, no fuss and a great experience every time. Rooms are always clean and your masseuse will be waiting for you when you arrive! Rooms can be adjusted to accommodate couples massage as well. I usually see Leo for deep tissue and he is great and very kind. Excellent massage by Michael! I hadn't had a massage in well over a year because of covid, but now that I'm fully vaccinated I was so eager to go. I found this spot on Yelp and felt comforted by the positive reviews that they were taking covid seriously and that I would have a great experience. It's a pretty small place - I think 4 or 5 total rooms, which are all private rooms with doors. This isn't one of the spots with curtains separating you or anything - although the walls don't go to the ceiling so you can hear some noise from the outside, especially if the phone rings. Michael was the only one on staff when I went so he had to leave my massage a couple of times to answer, but he was so apologetic that he gave me extra time because of it which made up for it. It's mostly no frills as far as the set up, but the actual Swedish massage was excellent. Michael really knows what he's doing and used a great pressure while working out some of the knots and kinks I had in my body. The hot stones portion was especially wonderful. Lastly, the pricing was great - $80 for 90 minutes with hot stones is pretty incredible. I'll definitely return! read more

Mind you, they don't even live in Brooklyn and trekked all the way from the Bronx (multiple times) to get a massage here at 167 Lincoln Place Spa. I had to go! After my first visit, I was hooked! First of all, the price is unbeatable at $58 for a 60 min massage. Secondly, you are able to book an appt the day of for a slot just several hours later. And finally, the massage therapists are so GOOD. No nonsense and extremely effective. If you're worried about paying $58 for a light pat on your back for 60 min...boy, are you in for a surprise. The staff really know how to apply the PRESSURE. My only gripe is that there's nothing distinguishable between a Swedish massage vs a sports massage. There's a reason I've been coming here these past 3 years. Lincoln Place Spa is terrific! The massage therapists are super nice and great at their jobs. Best back rubs ever! I've recently visited during covid and can say that they take health and safety very seriously. Staff works super hard to provide a clean and comfortable space. Everyone must wear a mask when entering. Capacity has been reduced to only 2 massage therapists at a time in order to comply with guidelines (so book appointments in advance). The rooms are cleaned before and after customers arrive with disinfecting supplies. Health wise everything checks out. I'd advise that we just continue to be kind considerate and mindful as we all work to get back to some form of normalcy. And I hope our community keeps helping this small business operate during these tough times. Today I had one of the best massages of my life at 167 Lincoln Place Spa. Called at 11:40 and was face down on the table at noon. Michael is a master of his craft with a serious intuition that only comes with experience. He would check in on pressure levels throughout the entire massage - a huge plus and something that many others neglect. I am athletic and don't stretch as often as I should.. Nothing that a pair of magic hands can't sort out over 60 minutes of serious kneading. I floated out of there on a cloud. Only regret? That they didn't have time to accommodate another 30 min today. Been coming here on and off for a few years. I went back yesterday and got one of the best massages of my life!! (and I've had a lot), from Michael. Love the walk-in flexibility (though it is good to call ahead) and it's truly amazing quality for the prices. For full transparency sake, I'd probably give 4.5 stars if that were possible. for 2 reasons. First is that there's no sound insulation so if there are loud guests it can be distracting (it'd be good if they could put up a sign/remind people to please be quiet!). Second not all massages in the past have been *equally* stellar. But they've all been very good. I highly highly recommend, especially if you call to book Michael. This week made an appointment for a massage, politely on the phone, but the masseuse's skill not good enough, my pain spot not be found exactly, and my bones were hurt by their elbow. recommends below 1) masseuses need to be trained 2) room size is too small, so smelled something strange, need to clean everyday and keep the air fresh all the time. 3) masseuses were talking about the customer's tip during massaging on me, not professional enough, the consumer pay for the message, and need to be respected, even if other people don't tip you well. 4) there is a kitchen near to the massage room, but some noisy made when someone eating in there. 5) During my massage, the masseuse answered the phone twice and went outside, this was made me very mad. THEY ARE OPEN. I've been going here since they opened a while ago. Then Covid. After all of these months stuck in my body was desperate. I was so happy to find out they are open again. Following safe practices and I felt completely comfortable. Masks are worn and you never turn over (as an extra precaution) but they doesn't even matter because the massage I got from Coco was BOMB. Better then most massages I've gotten in all of my travels in world class spas. It's no frills but the price can't be beat. No kidding. Amazing local spot to go every week or 2, it's that affordable. Went for my first massage since Lincoln Place Spa reopened after the COVID shutdown, and it was amazing as always! I felt very safe - masks were worn, massage was face-down only, the room and equipment were sanitized before and after, and my boyfriend and I were the only customers present. Massage was incredible...after months of stress and staying in my apartment, Michael got all the knots out. Lincoln Place Spa was my go-to massage place before COVID - they're amazing and super affordable - and I was nervous to return after "re-opening." I am using my husband's yelp account (I don't have my own) to finally write the well deserved review for 167 Lincoln Place Spa. I've been a regular customer for at least 4 years, and even though we moved to a neighborhood across Prospect Park I still come back at least once a month as the services for the price are outstanding. I usually get a 1 hour deep tissue massage and have had several masseuses that are all very good. Don't be shy to tell the masseuse your preferences to maximize your overall satisfaction. For example, I always ask for lavender oil (instead of the default cream) and to not use elbows (which tends to hurt me) but to use only hands. I also ask for the right pressure and for spots to focus on. For the past months I've had Wendy who is wonderful. I once had a very tense neck but she managed to find the right points and I felt so much better the next day. I love that she also massages my face and ends the massage with a short exercise. Scheduling an appointment has never been a problem, just call a few hours ahead especially on the weekend. I also had the couple's massage (once with my husband and once with my mom who both liked it) and have recommended this spa to friends who also enjoyed their couple's massage. Really pleased with my first visit to 167 Lincoln Place, which I wouldn't have known about if it weren't for Yelp. My masseuse, Coco, asked from the beginning what level of pressure I preferred, and I said "hard," having experienced in the past that I have a lot of muscular tightness needing real pressure. I couldn't believe how strong her hands were, and how thorough the massage was -- literally from head to toe. Yet it wasn't the painful, overpowering type you can sometimes get in the Tui Na places in Chinatown. My masseuse knew just how much attention to focus on a tight spot to knead out all of the tension, without leaving me wincing in pain by the end. AWFUL couples massage yesterday. I took my husband here to kick off his birthday. It's a no frills kind of place so we weren't expecting it to be a spa like experience but we were looking to relax a little before our day of running around. My massage was decent, his was horrible. The women who massaged him left the room several times to answer the door, to make phone calls, and to assist with checking other customers out. She was more outside of his room than inside massaging him. I was so embarrassed. There was also work being done next door so the whole time we were there the ceiling was shaking and loud banging could be heard the during the entire massage. They apologized a few times but man it was so bad & impossible to relax. Worst massage I've ever experienced in NYC. I understand they couldn't help the banging but leaving to answer phone calls several times is unacceptable. I felt really bad and cut the massage short. She should have had another staff massage him or tell us to come back another time if she was going to leave every few minutes to answer the phone or talk to people at the front desk. Treating a customer like that felt awful and is truly unacceptable. We paid for an awful massage to be treated crappy. I would never go back. read more
