For the first hour it was easy to avoid other families, and get lost in picking out our berries, but when it got crowded it became a little harder, but not impossible to stay spaced out. Plus only 45 minutes from DC, it's a nice get-out-of-the-house, forget about COVID, and get-out-of-the-city activity, and you could even do it with friends you are distancing from and spread out while picking. And bonus - they plant and give to Maryland Food Bank. We plan on going regularly until the season ends, for sure.

Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day.
