As a previous one star review mentioned here, my family and I had the most stressful and most unprofessional experience with Hugo and Joana. From being approved, putting a $13,000 escrow payment and then being told we needed another co-signer days before the last day of buying the house, we ended up loosing money, time and hopes of getting a house for my grandmother who has been searching for a home for the past four years. Now her charisma to finding a home has been lost due to the unprofessionalism. My family has lost many hours of submitting documents and pointless conversations since nobody was on the same page on the loan team, and me looking like a fool at work since he didn't check his email for the verification of unemployment. All in all, embarrasing to say the least of the entire experience. We had went through so many miscommunications throughout these last months and actually lost $1,600 at the end due to the lack of effort and unprofessional work on his end almost $13,000 if we took off the protection but thank god we didn't. Why would we send a escrow payment when we were never qualified in the first place? We were never supposed to pay for inspection and escrow if we never qualified in the first place. So un professionaI. I hope this yelp comment shows an inkling of what you may be getting into working with such individual. I recommend those trusting this company be aware of the practices being done because it will possibly end up being a huge disservice in your home buying experience. What an amazing experience, walked into his location in seal beach and from the start what a welcoming office Hugo has. From when my wife,son and I walked in we were greeted by one of his loan officers and quickly were offered something to drink and a snack. Having my son with me which is 6 at times could be tricky but this office was active and very helpful. Hugo put on something that my son could watch while we discuss our pre-approval. We had all documents available which he had let us know days in advance to bring and he had one of his officers scan all documents and by the time I finished my water, we were on our way out. We didn't take longer than 35 mins for the entire process, we could tell this is very common for this office in a world that is soo constantly pressed for time. My husband and I were both very disappointed with the outcome of this experience with Hugo and his team. We were selling our home and buying a home at the same time. Escrow and our other home were closing the same time, on a Friday(Memorial Day weekend) and Hugo and his team knew this. On that Thursday, after we've hired movers and arranged to take Friday off from work to move in, we get a call in the afternoon from Hugo asking for last minute information about our place of work and other info, then as he's on the phone with me he discovers we're short by $3,500. You're a loan officer. Shouldn't you have discovered this sooner? He says he'd have his associate look into this and call me back because he has a wedding to attend. Not only did he not do his job, he just abandoned us! His associate says we basically needed to come up with $3,500 or wait until Tuesday while they resubmit the down payment and all of the other information. So we had to pull $3,500 out of thin air or be homeless until Tuesday. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. It's not our job to make sure YOU do YOUR job. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. read more
