They picked me up on time and got me to my destination after leaving my car in the shop, which is what I can ask. But half the reason I chose them was I had a 10% off discount card, which if you pull this out I guarantee they will refuse! It is good anytime on metered fares but they'll say it's only good if you're going to the airport (not true). Second, the driver will always say the CC machine is broken and you have to pay cash. Most common cab driver scam in the book, because they don't want to pay any portion of the fees or wait for their money. You're better off to call 999-9999 instead. read more

It's so easy to remember... perfect for those times when you need a ride and you are too inebriated to drive. However, when I needed them last week - they put me on hold for over 5 minutes, and then as soon as someone came on and I gave them the address I was at, they hung up on me. Stay away from these criminals! My first experience was quite memorable. We were returning to Newport Beach from Irvine. We gave the cab driver clear, explicit directions to our address. He failed to pay attention and missed our street at least three times, thus overcharging us. We offered to pay him a prorated amount that took these missed attempts into consideration. After he accepted our payment, we exited the cab. He immediately began yelling and started driving at us while we were on the sidewalk. He then waited outside of our residence for quite some time. Crazy, right? My second experience wasn't quite as dramatic, but still displeasing. We returned to a friend's place in Costa Mesa from Newport Beach. We paid the cab driver and gave him a fair tip. As we were exiting the cab, he pleaded with us for a larger tip. Are you kidding? YOU DON'T ASK FOR TIPS, MORON. Seriously, I'm tired of the crap these guys pull. I call them often to get me to John Wayne from Costa Mesa; it's only about a $20 ride each way. I have not ever had a problem with their service. They are always prompt & usually even earlier than I asked them to be there. The drivers have almost always been pleasant and helpful...only once have I encountered one guy who got woken up too early. Other than that, they've all been helpful & made every effort to avoid traffic. My tip: don't be a drunk jerk & you shouldn't have any problems. I wish there were another option, and if there is one, please give a sister a heads up! We almost always get terrible drivers. For example, one time our driver hit a dog, yes, a dog. He didn't stop, even though I was crying, telling him to stop, he just kept going, said that there was nothing that could be done. Or another time, when we got the call that the cab was there, we go outside immediately and he yells "Hurry the fuck up!" at us. Really, now? We have had drivers try to over charge, we have had straight up creepy drivers and yes, occasionally, we have had great drivers; but my overall opinion is that they tend to hire less than desirable drivers. Last Wednesday I tried to book a taxi online to take my Husband and I to the airport at 3:15pm. It wouldn't accept my address even though I confirmed with USPS that the address was being input correctly. (No my address isn't an odd one, it's a big complex and there's never been any trouble with mail/address confusion.) I figured, no problem, I'll just call it in. I called them up and they happily took down the address and time. I asked for a confirmation number and she said it was my address. Again, no problem. Even though I figure they do this all the time, I remind them it's an apartment so the driver can just wait out front. It's nice to have a heads up, right? 3:15pm rolls around and there's no call from the cab company. My Husband hit traffic and will be about 5 minutes late, so I'm a little relieved, but just the same, they should be there. So I get on the phone to find out where it's at, and potentially to let them know if the cab is out front and just didn't call, that we'll be there in 5 minutes. They put me on hold. My Husband showed up while I was on hold and he was picking up our bags to walk out front when someone finally picked up the phone again and then immediately hung up on me! (I answer phones and I've accidentally hung up on people putting them ON hold, but not normally when I take them off hold. Either way, bad timing guys!) By now it's about 3:20 and we check the front just to see if maybe they didn't call or got our phone number wrong or something, but the cab is a no show. We have no time to hail another cab because we have to catch our flight, so we drive ourselves to the airport and end up paying $94 dollars to leave our car at the airport during our trip. I will not be booking with this company again. Problem #1) Online ordering wouldn't accept my address. Problem #2) The taxi didn't show up! Because of a previous experience years ago where a driver threw my credit card out of the window into the bushes and the police had to come, I haven't used this company in years. Last night, my boyfriend called them not knowing and I didn't realize until we were in a conversation regarding a totally different situation where the driver was eavesdropping and decided to call me names and kick us out of the cab 2 blocks early for things totally unrelated to him. i've been calling cabs from this place for years. had some great drivers and some bad. i remember one crazy hellride where the driver clipped at least 4 parked car's mirrors on a little side street, showering me with broken glass. but i was drunk, and they weren't my cars, so it was pretty funny. but last night i was at a local drinking establishment well known for it's scantily clad hostessess and thier bizarre tip cup system, and the time came for me and my "date" to go home and, y'know, do things to each other worthy of a 5 star review of it's own, so i called this company to get us on our way. the driver showed up on time, called me and i was out the door and ready to go in less than a minute. my date, well, she had to run back in to get her lip gloss or something, so i sat in the cab by myself, and the driver asked where we were going. it's a short trip, about a mile, and normally i'd walk home, but it's almost impossible to do that with a drunk girl in tow. the driver got very upset that he was only going a mile, and began shouting at me in some form of english butchery; "i charge you twice! short trip! i charge you twice! you make me wait! you pay me twice!" i looked at the meter and it was already at 6 bucks, and we hadn't even moved. my friggen date wasn't even in the cab yet! so i got out and we had a pretty heated exchange of four letter words right in front of the bar. he was threatening me with violence and i was laughing and telling him to get cancer and die. fun times, lemme tell ya. ended up walking home. which we shoulda just done in the first place. now, i realize i was drunk, and i can relate to a cabbie's frustration, having to deal with drunken idiots all the time, i mean, i'm a bartender myself, and a great tipper, but his actions were so out of place, totally uncalled for, and if i wasn't such a happy drunk, both of us woulda been in the hospital or jail. that's the end of that story. now, in closing, lemme just say, as a bartender, i've called this place a coupla times a week for my customers and for myself. but never again. seriously. screw you guys. i wish i could leave negative stars. but i can't so you get one. and i wish upon that star, hoping it falls outta the damn sky and obliterates that jack ass cabbie in a massive ball of fire, but not right away. i hope you're still alive to feel your burning flesh falling off of your charred bones. read more

I went to the detroit bar last night for a great gig last night with a couple of friends. Unfortunately they had to return to San Diego due to prior constraints. I stayed for a while for some chit chat and to enjoy some more drinks when I called this other cab company 'Tustin Cab'. About 45 minutes later with no response from them whatsoever. I called and they kept saying they would be there. Assholes! I decided to call 1800-4-my-taxi. I was on the waiting line for a few seconds and let them know where I was. About 5-10 minutes or so later the driver called and said that he'd be there. Wow, nice and prompt. So he arrives and picks me up. I had a smooth ride home, I could change the radio station and enjoy the ride. The driver, this Indian man was very respectful and friendly. I'm glad that the cab was equipped with gps amongst other things. Overall, A great service. I don't think there is anything better really in the OC, knowing there are few cab services here and whatnot. So I will definitely be calling them again. read more

Every time my friends and I go to Downtown Fullerton bars, we have an awful mess of a time when we deal with 1-800-4-MY-TAXI. For example (out of the many that there are), last weekend for Cinco De Mayo we called a cab to pick us up from our place and they quoted us 30-45 minutes until they would be there. 5 minutes after hanging up the phone, guess who showed up? This happens EVERY time! At the end of the night, we called a cab to pick us up from the bars (before the bars even closed) and they said they would be there in 15-20 minutes. By 2:30am (everyone was gone by this point), we were alone outside, freezing, and still cab-less. We called the company three times- when we said we were wondering if our cab was still coming (since it was late), we were HUNG UP ON every time. The final time we called, the lady said the cab had picked someone else up so our cab order was cancelled and basically screw off. We luckily flagged down a car from Yellow Cab. So moral of the story, take a damn YELLOW CAB!!! read more

I've absolutely HAD IT with this stupid company. Last Saturday, I call from my housephone and tell them my address, including apartment building number, give them my cell phone and tell dispatch to tell the driver to come to our front office gate. After who knows how long of standing on the curb, I see a cab an entire block away, parked on the other side of the street, at a different complex. I call dispatch who tells me the driver is 'there' and he will call me. After another 10 minutes (no call) I walk down to the cab. The driver was calling my house phone and then told me I should have given them the building number (not that it matters when you are at the wrong apartment complex.) After dinner, we call them again, for a pick up at the bar. A cab shows up and they instead pick up someone else. We call back and and then have to wait another 15 minutes for a cab. Fast forward to last night. Again, the cab is 10 minutes later than promised, so I have to call to find the status. The driver calls about 5 minutes later. He is at a car dealership down a block, on the wrong side of the street. I live at an intersection, so I give him the two street names, about 5 times, before he figures it out. Even still, he would have gone right by, if I hadn't stepped out in the street to flag him down. At the end of the night, we call for a cab. Again, late. When we get home, we see another cab, parked in our driveway, waiting for us. I guess when we called the second time, they looked at our phone number and just sent a cab to our home, instead of the address we gave them. What's funny, is that this person was the only one capable of actually finding our address. Here's what 800-4-My-Taxi needs to do: start hiring more competent employees (both drivers and dispatch), stop relying so heavily on GPS and learn the area and business/apartment complex names. I was driving northbound on Harbor Blvd in Anaheim by Lincoln around 2:00 am today when driver number 1010 cut me off and didn't use a turn signal. After honking at the driver, he/she showed me the middle finger. Then the driver changed lanes and almost side swiped a car that ended up hitting parking cone markers by the the park. After that the driver speed off so quickly that it was two lights ahead of me when I was driving 35 mph which is the speed limit in that area. I attempted to call the 800 number that you have listed. The woman that I spoke to told me to call Monday to Friday to speak to a supervisor. It's Saturday morning and I'm supposed to wait till Monday? There needs to be a faster chain of command and a more efficient way to report unsafe drivers. read more

1 hour and 15 minutes late and then a rude driver... I've never left a negative review for anything, but this level of rudeness warrants it. We recently used this company for a ride between Sunset Beach and Seal Beach. Our hotel recommended the company. When we called the dispatcher, they told us it would be a 15 minute wait. We had to call twice more to find out why we were still waiting. Each time, the dispatcher told us it would only be a few more minutes. Finally, the cab pulled up over an hour later. I was annoyed by the wait... but then incensed by the driver. The driver was annoyed with us. Instead of saying hello, he immediately asked, "Why didn't you call a Long Beach taxi?" Then he proceeded to complain about how long he had to drive. I'm sorry, but I simply called the number that our hotel provided. If you feel it's not worth your time to pick us up, then let your dispatcher know. How is it possible that I had to wait an hour on the street, listen to you berate me and then pay you? We still left him a tip, and he showed his gratitude by grunting at us. Use any company other than this one. read more

Two consecutive nights and two horrible experiences. First night they would not drive us because they claimed one in our group was too drunk. Three of them were lined up waiting for clients, not doing anything, not one would take us. Finally after convincing them we would tip, one of the drivers reluctantly took us. Second night after calling them we asked for a cab for seven people. When the driver showed up he said he would only take six. Once again we had to convince them with a promise of a nice tip. On the way back from the bar we got out and didn't tip. The driver actually said to me "call your friend I want to fight him" since he did not deliver the promised tip. I give 4 stars for their drivers a 1 star for their dispatch staff so a 2 star on yelp! Occasional you get a nice girl on the phone that knows what she's doing but majority of the time they're rude and do not get things right! We just called for two cabs on NYE and the girl quoted us 15-40 min which is fine, I realized they were extremely swamped but after 45 minutes the cabs still never showed. I tried calling and lines were busy for the next hour. Finally I sobered up and just drove us home, good thing I only had a few beers throughout the night! On many times I have called the night before and ordered a cab to head to the airport in the morning. Big mistake! They never send the cabs. I have even called an hour before needing the cab to make sure its going to come and again they never send them. Do not call ahead of time and schedule a cab because they can't deliver. The drivers are usually very nice and apologetic of their dispatch staff. I would recommend trying yellow cab! Four stars is the average of 3 for dispatch and 5 for driver/drive. Although I specified the address and the city of pickup, twice, the dispatcher told the driver the wrong city (which on a road that runs through 3 cities and has the same numbering in each is kind of a problem), and confirmed it even when he called her from the road to say there was no such business as the one at which I'd asked to be fetched. Dispatch = FAIL. On the other hand, I got a pleasant and polite driver who followed my directions home and loaded my stroller and bag into the trunk, after giving me unpressured time to secure Baby's car seat into the minivan. Wish I'd read the terrible reviews first! We rung this company to book a cab after another taxi company let us down. We were quoted $75 from Fullerton to LAX. When the driver arrived, he flipped and said $75 was way too low, that it was a $120 ride! "Watch the meter, it'll get to $120" he insisted. My friend wasn't having a bar of it and we settled on $85, which the driver was still disgruntled about but eventually accepted. Perhaps he thought we were stupid, but we're LA regulars and KNOW he took the long way. He could've gone straight down Imperial Highway but he didn't. He went through Downey before getting back on the highway! WTF?! And guess what? The meter only hit $88, even going the long way!!! We usually hire cars in LA and now I know why. My last 1800 driver essentially kidnapped us and I had to threaten to call 911 before he stopped and let us out... Read below. Definitely beware of this company and especially cab driver # 886 - the one who would not let us out. Recently I had been reconsidering my good feeling about 18004mytaxi. Wednesday night sealed the deal. Lately their drivers have been more and more shady and cab quality (actual vehicle) has been worse too. Drivers insisting that they do not take credit cards is on the rise although the company states that all cabs take cards. I believe they are required to take them in order to operate, but I don't know. Their company says they all take cards, so I don't like shady drivers who say they don't. They have also been in the habit of not starting the meter and attempting to over charge. Which takes me to last Wednesday. Leaving downtown Huntington after spending the day at the open and evening in having some drinks, we decided to leave the cars downtown and not risk driving although we probably were sober - why risk it? We get in the cab and after the first block I see the meter is not running. When I ask about it he says it will be a flat rate of $25. That's not going to fly... I'm not a tourist, I take cabs from time to time, it is always less than $9. When we told the driver as much, turns off of our route and away from both the area we started and my home. At this point we want out but he will not stop. He says he's returning to where he picked us up, which I'm pretty sure was BS since we asked him to drop us on the first 2 corners of streets we passed - either of which streets would have taken us back to where we started. After 2 more blocks passed I'm done with the games and told him to stop right now or I'm dialing 911 and actually held up my phone, showed him 911 on the screen, and held my finger at the ready to dial. This got through and he pulled right over. I have attempted to follow up with their management multiple times and although the operators are sympathetic, they always tell me that management will have to call me back. Both times I called I was told that a manager would call me back on the next day. Those next days have gone by and I have heard nothing. Obviously this is not a high priority for them. I have to catch my Tour bus at 7:30am. I booked their taxi on the evening before the departure day. They should pick me up at 7am. 7am, I was waiting for them to show up. I waited until 7:05am, so I called the company to ask where is my taxi? The operator lady told me to wait another 5-7 minutes. 7:15am, I called them again and the operator told me that she will send another taxi to us and we shall wait another 10 minutes. 7:25am, finally the taxi shows up without any apologize. He was speeding up and I catch the bus at 7:35am. Luckily the tour bus waited for me. On the way back. I had to use their taxi again, even by knowing that they provide this s*cky service. But I had little choice at that day. I called them to pick me up at 8pm. The operator lady were telling me that they will pick me up after 10 minutes. 8:10pm. it's getting cold outside, I am calling them again. The operate lady says, she couldn't find the drivers, so she send another one to me. And I had to wait another 10 minutes. 8:25pm, the taxi never shows up and I called them again. Again, the operator lady told me the same story again and send another one to me. 8:37pm. Finally the taxi shows up. He didn't apologize, he didn't open the trunk for me to put my luggage in the car and he didn't even help me out with my 2 luggages. But it was almost new years eve. I still tipped him double. He took the money and never said thank you. And again, he opens his trunk and watch me grab my luggage without helping . I AM SO DONE WITH THEM. I WILL NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE AGAIN AND I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF MY FRIENDS TO USE THEIR RUBBISH SERVICE! read more

If I could give this cab service negative stars, I would. Like the other reviewers have mentioned, this cab company has the worst service. I left my phone in the cab and realized it after about a half hour. I called my phone and the cab driver picked up and said that he was "driving other customers." and that one of his customers "found the phone in the cab." Unfortunately, I did not get his name or cab number before I got into the cab so I tried to get this information while speaking to him on my phone. He would not give me his name, telephone number or cab number. I ended up giving him my address and an alternate phone number and he agreed to drop off the phone after he was finished with his customers. Not to my surprise, he did not go through with this. I called my phone again and he hung up on me and then turned it off (I was at 97% battery life before I lost my phone so I know that it did not just die). I called the 1800-4-MY TAXI office and was directed to a voicemail that told me to submit a lost ticket online. The next day I went to their office and spoke to the manager. It was clear he couldn't care less about it and wrote my name on a post -it... how encouraging. For the remainder of the week I continued to call the company to see if the driver had a change in heart and turned in my phone (why would be answer a phone if he was going to steal it??). My phone was never turned in. Bottom Line: I should have never left my phone in the cab BUT that does not give the driver the right to steal it. Unfortunately this instance reflects badly on the company as a whole and I will not be using it again. read more

Awful awful awful awful service. The cab was over 45 minutes late to pick me up. When I tried to call, the phone line was busy. The cab driver took me in a giant circle and when I tried to call him out on it, he accused me of calling him a "cheater". He got all defensive and started speeding up. I have been using 18004mytaxi for cabs for more than 10 years, but last time I traveled, the driver ended up using my credit card to make a purchase at sears.com to the tune of over $800. And I can't get the company to even talk to me. They keep sending my call to a full voice mail box. I would think they would care, but they do not so I will be switching. Stay away from the company. Your security is not a concern. I have filed a police report but it probably isn't enough money for them to pursue it. read more

NEVER AGAIN. My experience here was absolutely awful. PROBLEM ONE: Overcharged Why was I overcharged? Because despite the GPS in front of my driver, he missed the proper exit twice, and had to back track, there by increasing the mileage. He also had to ask me for directions multiple times. PROBLEM TWO: Misquoted Tying in with the overcharge, I called the company in advance to ask how much my fare would be. I was told $33. I arrived at my destination. Meter reading? $46.50. PROBLEM THREE: Mistreated I have a coupon for the company for $5 off a fare above $35. Upon arriving, I hand the man the coupon, and he tells me he can't accept it. It has no expiration date, the logo on it even matches the logo on the side of his cab, but he insists that he cannot take it. I went back and forth with the man several times, but because I am young he decided to take advantage of me. After handing him the money ($47), he said "This is only $47." That's more than the fare is, so I just got out and told him "It's my payment for the fare." In addition to all this, the operator I spoke with mumbled, was rude, and generally unhelpful. This was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I am still incredibly upset that I was taken advantage of. So far, no response from the company, despite posting on their Facebook, emailing, and calling. NEVER using this company again, and I'll make sure my friends don't either. read more

This is one of those reviews where if I could give it negative stars, I would. 5 negative stars. This past weekend I had 2 different bad experiences with them. First on Saturday night we called to go 3 miles from my house to Main St HB. I was told the cab would be there in 20 mins. TWO minutes later the cab shows up!! What?! I told him that we weren't ready yet and he came back in 30 mins. That wasn't so bad. The next day we call from the beach to get a ride back. The operator is extremely rude. I wasn't intoxicated and was speaking very politely over the phone and all she did was give me attitude. I was told that the wait would be 15 mins. Ok no problem. 20 minutes later and still no cab so I called again. She was rude and annoyed again and said that the cab was 5 blocks away. Again we waited.....for 25 more mins!!! at this point the sun is down, everyone in my group is freezing and we are very annoyed. I call one more time, she tells us the cab had been waiting for 10 mins. She gave the driver the wrong address!!!! So we ended up walking 5 blocks to the cab driver. Inside the van the smell of fumes was so bad we had to roll down the windows. The cab driver then cranked up the music so loud I couldn't tell him where to go. He was also swerving around like a drunk person and waving his hands in the air. Everyone in my group started getting worried and told him to slow down. Once we were dropped off we paid and left a tip. It obviously wasn't good enough for him because he laid on the horn, flipped us all off, and screeched off!!!
