I was having trouble getting an Uber to take my teen daughter to LA for work. She's on our family plan and it should not have been difficult, but it was not working out so I started looking for other options. Two other reputable ride services were also not available - Lyft won't carry teens without parents and HopSkipDrive does not allow for late reservations. She could have driven herself, but I was not ready for her to do this yet. LOL! I looked on Yelp and found Dave. Not only did he drive her from Huntington Beach to LA with less than two hours notice, he was so nice about it. He kept me informed and my daughter said he was very friendly and professional. It cost more than rideshare options, but it was so worth it! I highly recommend Dave and would trust him with my kiddo again! We will definitely be back. read more

Dave is fantastic! I had an outpatient surgery appointment and needed to be picked-up at 4:30 am. The 4:30 am pick-up time did not phase him at all and he was right on time. My doctor's office had told me to be at the surgery center at 5:00 am and Dave got me there just fine, but the surgery center was closed and didn't open until 6:00 am. Total miscommunication by the Dr.'s office but not to worry, Dave did not just drop me off and leave. Dave drove around the area and found a Starbuck's that was open, busy, and only a block away from the surgery center. I called Dave at 4 in the morning hoping he would answer. He did!! We had to catch a ride to LAX and there was no Uber or Lyft available. We started sweating bullets but thought to check Yelp. Just on a wing and a prayer. Dave answered! He was very nice and inquired about our situation. As we were talking, we got an Uber hit. Whew! We went with Uber because it was close by. I work at an OC Hotel not too far from the airport. This morning I had a departing guest that was having an awful time getting transport to the airport. He'd scheduled a ride the night before with a rideshare company, but no one showed. And every time he would order a new ride, the driver would accept, then drop. Poor guy was in a panic. This had been going on for about an hour by the time he came to me at the desk for help. I tried my usual drivers, no answer. Then the local taxi companies, no answer there either. I feel really lucky to have met Dave and used his taxi service to LAX during a busy holiday week. My family and I, some of whom are very time sensitive (no fun when running late), and some have special needs, needed a very reliable ride. Travel to LAX on the 405 early in the morning can be time consuming and long term parking is not a great or inexpensive option. When contacted , Dave was kind enough to make sure his schedule allowed for time to get the airport, that we had enough time for our goals, confirmed the night before and the morning of. Our stress level was gratefully very low. If you don't get your taxi to LAX on time, it's no fun dealing with airline/airport parking changes. Felt safe and the price was as expected. My friend & I got off the trolley at the north end of Laguna Beach around 11pm and needed to get back to our Newport Beach hotel. Tried Lyft & Uber, no luck?!(which has been my experience during Covid, I guess drivers prefers delivering to-go food rather than obnoxious drunks!!) Found Dave on Yelp, he had great reviews so I gave him a call. Dave answered right away, i told him where we were and where we wanted to go. He said he'd just made what he'd intended to be his last drop of the night, but that I sounded so nice he'd do just one more : ) Dave picked us up a few minutes later and couldn't have been more of a sweetheart. I was trying to book an early morning trip to the airport from San Clemente and was running into issues finding a service I could count on. I called several other taxi companies and received automated systems with no option to speak to a real person. Then I called Dave's Taxi, and the next thing I heard was, "this is Dave!" Dave was courteous and professional. He helped me figure out what time I needed to be at the airport and what time to arrange the pickup. I needed to leave at around 4:30 am. The morning of the pickup, he arrived 10 minutes early and made sure I was on time. He had a plexiglass partition between the front and back seats for safety, and wore a mask for the entire trip. I've sweated it out before, hoping for reliability, but then being let down by lyft and Uber, especially during the pandemic.
