Visited recently for a show and had a great evening. It's a smaller, no-frills venue. There were a few church pew benches around the perimeter of your want to grab a seat. We found convenient parking in the lot directly across the street, but you can also park on the street if you can find a spot. Appreciated that they had 2 NA beer options at the bar, and all of the staff were friendly. Restrooms were under construction while we were there so there were apparently porta-potties available if needed (we did not visit those). We'd go back next time we're in town if there was someone we wanted to see! read more

My partner and I attended a show our friend was in at 191 Toole. The space is large and the sound system is too (!). They kept the front doors open throughout the show, which made for a comfortable breeze. If standing for a long time isn't your thing, call ahead for handicapped seating or arrive early to snag the church pew-style seating along the walls. Restrooms are adequate, and they have a bar that also serves snacks. read more

Excellent small venue for concerts, essentially an unassuming warehouse looking location near Toole and 6th Ave. It has a small bar on left when entering, and restrooms on right. Stage is to the rear and right. Went here for a comedy show, Steve Hoffstetter & Friends, they set out small chairs (not very comfy) about 100, but could have held at least 50 more no problem. Great show and the staff were all great. Restrooms are typical dark bar/club, not very clean on men's side. Not an elite location, but sufficient for bands and the comedy event. Trains will go by and sound horns. They have craft beer, house margarita on tap. mixed drinks, popcorn. Good times. read more

Fun venue but the audio is almost always trash. Everything is turned up way too high with constant clipping and there is an obvious lack of care from whomever gets paid to do the sound. We shouldn't all be wincing every time the singer talks to the audience. It doesn't help that the venue itself is a brick box that really should not be used for live music in its current state. I'm genuinely surprised the employees aren't all deaf by now. Put some panels on the walls and cut the volume by a third and you'd actually have a somewhat enjoyable place for concerts. read more

First off, all of the staff at 191 Toole have always been friendly and provided good service, but as a live music venue this place leaves much to be desired. It's basically just a room with low ceilings that has been retrofitted to serve as a performance space. The stage is an elevated platform crammed into a corner of the room. Unless you are positioned center stage, within 20 feet, you will probably have an obstructed view due to the floor to ceiling columns in the audience space. In my experience, the sound quality was poor most of the time. I've seen about 10 shows at 191 Toole, the most enjoyable probably had a crowd size of about 50 people. Any more than that, and it starts getting cramped and you're more likely to end up behind one of the columns holding the ceiling up. Probably not a bad place to see a local band, but they regularly book talent would be better served to play someplace that can accommodate a bigger crowd and more capable AV rig. read more

191 Toole is a great dive bar-esque place for local artists. There's lots of interaction with the band on stage and room to dance. All the workers were also super nice and helpful with getting us drinks and/or water. read more

I finally made it to a show at 191 Toole and had a pleasant experience! Parking was much easier than expected with an adjacent lot and a lot directly across the street in the event the other is unavailable. Staff at the door checking IDs and proof of vaccine (required for the show I went to) were really nice and helpful. You can grab a drink immediately to your left upon entering the venue, bathrooms are to the right. The stage itself is in the back corner of the venue with lots of room to stand. The only drawback is you could potentially get stuck behind a pillar if you are standing farther back, but I think this is pretty avoidable even for a packed show. Sound quality was great during the show I attended, especially for the venue size. There is some seating along the walls if you arrive early or manage to snag a spot if someone gets up during a set. Overall I had a fun time and would definitely return again for a show! read more

My first time here at the venue and it was fun. Cool bartenders make the $8 Dragoon IPA an event in itself. Sound is above average for a small venue. Floorspace is decent, but those center pillars that hold up the apex of the roof definitely obstruct views of the stage. I went to see Red Fang with Spoon Benders as an opening act. Both bands performed well, but the board was ran by two different people for the acts. This resulted in a lopsided mixing experience with Spoon Benders being dialed in and the vocals and bass for Red Fang consistently being off. For an intimate venue it is great. I will definitely be back. read more

My first *real* concert since 2020 was a blast! After seeing so many ads for so many bands on my playlist here, I knew 191 had great taste and it was only a matter of time before I finally visited. I caught Twin Tribes here and I can barely remember the last time music made me so happy. The bar has all the essentials and the prices feel more than fair for a venue. Instead of beer, try the 3 Amigos margarita on tap, and get lit! The sound was absolutely impeccable. The interior isn't the prettiest so you might think the sound will suck, but getting blasted with an hour of brooding synths and earthshaking reverb made my night. No hiccups in the quality at all. Staff is incredibly kind and helpful as well. This is a real music scene for real music fans! read more

My Fav!!! Why because of the following. 1. A level wood floor. a. making it easier to stand for longer b. the sound quality is better with a wood floor. 2. Seating along the edges of the space. 3. Wide access to the bar. 4. Friendly and helpful staff. 5. Like Goldy Locks, just the right size to move up close or stand in back. 6. Clean! Simple! Not set up for comfort. It is an intimate setup. On this night the band did a terrible job either the sound. Poorly mixed and too loud. Even the employees commented that they were surprised how bad the sound was! They said the sound is usually great and on this night it was surprisingly bad. Bathrooms were clean. Refreshments were easy to get. They also sell earplugs. I had to laugh. So for further comments I shall wait for another visit. read more

There are a lot of great venues in Tucson and each serves its purpose but I think this one is my favorite. The location is great and there is free parking. They run large and small shows and even have rocked a double stage for some events. They also work with non-profits and give back to the community... Which is good. For a while they didn't have bathrooms inside the building which sucks but they have them now. The place looks great and it's pretty unique. read more

This is one of my favorite music venues in Tucson because of its size. It's the perfect place to see bands in a spacious area that still feels intimate. They have done a great job of remodeling the interior. Bookings have also been great, as the Tucson music scene grows and we start getting more bands passing through on west coast tours. They are part of the Rialto Theater Foundation. You can rent the space for private events (highly recommend it if you're seeking a venue) and the staff that handles that is very professional. read more

So I went to buy tickets to Wolf Parade. I've stopped by several times during the week but they weren't open. No biggie. But tonight they were open. The woman at the door didn't greet us she just started off rudely with "Are you 21? Cuz if you're not 21 you can't come in." I stepped in to explain that we were here to buy tickets for the next night. She stated that "the box office ain't open" WTF?!? How can it be open for business but not open for business. Just stupid really. Where is the customer service or manners in that? To buy the tickets online is a $6.21 service charge per ticket. Ridiculous. Add the lack of parking and it makes for a frustrating unpleasant experience. Which is too bad since I've seen good shows here in the past. read more

Great little music venue. Had a great time seeing Mike Gordon there. Food would be a nice addition. Staff was very friendly and fun.

Been here several times. The place is clean and the acoustics are great. Nice staff. Be prepared to stand. I'll be going back.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. if you are thinking about going to a rave here, I highly suggest to go somewhere else! the setup is AWFUL, as the building is shaped like a long hallway that is divided by a unsecured railing that keeps the bar separated from the under 21 individuals.. there is a major lack of security at the front and the whole thing seems so disorganized. the sound is alright but it's just a crappy stage setup with 2 big speakers to the left and right. there are no light setups or any effects at all! it felt like I paid a large sum of money to attend a high school dance!
