This was my first time at this movie theatre and I really enjoyed my experience. It was nice to go at 5:30pm for a film, it was quite empty and the calm atmosphere was great. We ate before so didn't get anything from the concession stands but they have a variety of classic movie eats and nowadays theatres have added bars with alcohol. Every time I go here now I have a bad experience with theatre etiquette. I wish they did more quality control and walk throughs so that they can catch these people being obnoxious and shut it down so that everyone else can enjoy their time. You can shush these people all you want but they really don't care and honestly should be removed from the theatre if they can't control themselves. read more

I've visited this place many times, and each visit was fantastic! The location is in a popular shopping location, near a Ross: Dress for Less, Burlington, etc. along with several food spots including Chick-fil-a & Portillo's. I have questioned the lack of attendance, as on multiple occasions I noticed the theater would be extremely empty. You'd be lucky to find five other people in the room, even if the movie is highly popular. I've tried to figure out what it is that makes this so, but I can't. The customer service is very kind, with some staff engaging in conversation about what movie I was going to see. The location is clean, the prices are typical among many cinemas- probably overpriced, but when you're going out to see a film, that's to be expected. I'd honestly pay for their popcorn over other theaters like The Loft or Roadhouse- they make it exactly how I like it: salty & super buttery! There's also an arcade near the entrance, perfect for birthday parties, and the screens in the theaters are functional. I would come here again. I saw the movie Warfare here yesterday in Auditorium 15. It was Discount Day (Tuesday), so the ticket was only $6.25. The movie was good, the theater and restroom were fairly clean, the seat in good condition. I still object to the endless commercials and trailers that play before the movie starts, and I still think it's too damn loud. read more

Although it seems like the popularity of seeing movies in theatres is declining, the service over at Century Park Place doesn't reflect that one bit. Every staff member that l've encountered has been very respectful and helpful. From the snack counter to the ticket checking stand, everyone is nice. I've recently been on a huge kick of seeing movies in theaters and it genuinely does elevate any film you are seeing. The lighting and sound quality in this theater are awesome. If you're on the fence about coming to the theatre or watching from home, take the leap and enjoy a great movie! Maybe even dabble in some movie snacks while you're there. read more

Came in yo watch Avatar, the Way of Water. Getting our tickets online was easy peasy, and the theater was reasonably clean and well-kept. It's been what seems like forever since we've been to this movie theater. The hubby and I were happy to be able to squeeze in a date night. There parking lot was insane! Apparently Target has some kind of construction going on which added to parking lot nightmares. Then, there was an accident that messed with the other side of the parking lot. We finally made our way to a parking spot and headed in. The girls at the front window seemed nice enough, talked a bit fast... But were friendly. The halls were a bit warm, not hot, but uncomfortable. Got in to our theater and waited for the movie. The picture was crisp on the screen and the sound was good. The temperature was just "ok". I am only giving three stars for two reasons... One I've mentioned already... Three theater could have stood to be about five degrees cooler. The second reason for the three stars is because of the seats. I don't remember the last time I sat in such a LUMPY chair! It was so darn uncomfortable! I say this way and that way and just for the life of me could NOT escape those lumps! I thought someone said the chairs had all been upgraded not that long ago? I love the new improvements--- especially the new serve yourself soda machines. You can fill and mix up all kinds of concoctions. I had a peach diet sprite mmmm good. Theaters are always clean lately too. The seats are great although Park place are a little better. I would like to see the ability to pick our own seats in all the theaters. I am going to Park Place more and more often because of that. Also would like to see more of a time difference between the various screenings at the theaters to give us more of a choice of times to see the same movie. read more

We went to see Rogue one in the XD theater. The renovated seats are very comfortable though would have been perfect if they reclined, but nevertheless, they were well cushioned and quite comfortable. The screen was floor to ceiling so even the last row would have a decent view. We were in row N which was very good. There are several rows close to the screen which I would not have wanted. Seats up higher put you in eye level view of the actors. The seats are staggered so you are likely to have a good view even with a taller person in front of you. We were there on Christmas eve and there was hardly anyone in the theater. There were some times when the sound was a bit too loud but not always. Good to be prepared for that though. Arm rests that fold up. Theaters and bathrooms are pretty clean. The concession stands were clean and had a variety of options. Typically priced. The rows alternate between seats so the chance so you getting stuck sitting behind someone tall is greatly reduced, which is awesome! The chairs are bigger than normal theater seats which is nice. this is a good local theater. you have options between standard showings, xd ones with reserved seating and even some 3d screens. i'm a fan of the discount tuesdays where tickets are $6. each time i've gone the staff has been friendly and the theaters are clean and well kept. i usually don't buy snacks because they're too expensive, but if we get the whole family to go I'll splurge for a large popcorn because you can get a free refill and that's way more than enough for the four of us. they do have more options than just popcorn, with pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream and lots of different candies. there are a lot of food options close by in case you want to eat before or after your screening. read more

Just went and saw Frozen with two of my adult kids on Christmas day for a matinee . The theatre was pretty full so we sat up front in the 3rd row. The screen is dominating that close, but it was still enjoyable. We all got a large drink and we shared a large popcorn. The concession alone was over $20. Seems like a lot for coke and popcorn, but you know your going to get robbed before you walk in. Just went tonight to see "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." Easy parking, good access to the theater. (As opposed to parking in the mall parking lot, then walking a distance inside the mall to get to the theater entrance, like AMC Lowes Foothills.) Clean. Awesome main snack bar (though I did not purchase anything). Ancillary snack bars in the wings. Clean restrooms. They have stadium seating and digital projection. The picture was gorgeous! Brightly lit and in HD. I really enjoyed watching the movie in this high quality. The only disappointment was that our buns were sore after a couple of hours. We were in a smaller theater (guess "The Hobbit" is not considered top box office anymore) and I'm wondering if the seats are better in their bigger theaters. I will have to ask. Because our derrieres took an "unexpected journey," I give the theater 4 stars. Tips: 1. If you view a movie in a smaller theater, the seating is offset because it only has one set of stairs. So what you THINK is in the middle is really not. You will need to actually sit 3 seats closer to the stairs to be in the middle of the screen, so if that is important to you, be sure to watch out for that. 2. If the movie you are seeing is still drawing crowds, but is 3 to 4 weeks after opening and now playing in a smaller theater here, be sure and get there on time or early. (20 min. of pre-previews before the listed show time, about 15 minutes of previews starting at the listed show time) If you don't, you will have a difficult time finding a seat because the seating capacity is smaller. We got there in time for the pre-previews, about 6:40 for the 7:00 showing, and from 6:55 to 7:15 watched people trying to find a seat. Larger parties of more than 4 had to break up and find 2 seats here, 3 seats there. Some had to sit in the neck-craning, nauseating front section. 3. Don't see a long movie (like "The Hobbit") in a small theater here. Remember my sore buns. read more

I've been coming to this theatre for years and the quality has stayed consistent. Tuesday's are great because tickets are $5. You can also show your student ID to get discounted pricing during other times. I like this theatre because of its location and convenience. However, there are other theatres in town with way more comfortable seats. The wheelchair seating at this location is less than ideal though. Specifically, wheelchair space is in the last row on the lower, flat level. This means you have to tilt your head up. I did notice the cup holders are fairly dirty too. This theatre could use a facelift, especially since there are other ones in Tucson that have been renovated or redone and offer similar pricing. read more

I would give this theater a fourth star, but it seems they're lagging compared to other theaters in town which all seem to be going toward recliner seating and upgraded concessions. There was a notice on the door indicating they had applied for a liquor license, so that is coming down the pike. AMC and Harkins have dropped their ticket prices to be more competitive, but Century has not. An evening show will cost you $10.50 each. I saw a matinee showing of Coco with my mom, and it cost $16.84 for the two of us with a convenience fee (I got her a senior ticket). There were long lines at the booth, so we didn't care to wait. I might've had I noticed it was a $3 fee. They usually have a good variety of movies as they have plenty of screens. They have relatively standard concessions. They do have coffee and ice cream and look to be offering alcoholic beverages in the future. Maybe they will upgrade the food as well. The seats were comfortable, but like I mentioned, just about every theater seems to be going to recliners. The one positive thing about traditional seating is that you can generally get into a movie last minute with no problem. Theaters with recliners, where you have to pre-select your seats, generally sell out quicker so you can't just show up last minute and find seats. By the way, Coco is a fantastic movie if you haven't seen it! read more

After the proverbial nuclear bomb that hit and slowly decimated El Con Mall over the span of a decade, Century 20 was left virtually untouched and somehow sustained itself as the measuring stick when it comes to Tucson mainstream cinema. This is your basic modern movie theater, but it's generally cleaner and less crowded than the theaters at Park Place or Harkins; while providing the same experience, sometimes better. I've been to so many movies at this theater over the years and I cannot recall one instance in which a bad experience occurred. I always receive exceptional service from their staff. From the people in the box office to the snack bar all the way up to management, the ensemble of employees are always up to par. I don't ask for much from a theater: Cleanliness (especially the bathrooms and the theaters themselves), adequate service, buttery, artery-clogging popcorn and snacks that aren't going to make me sick from both ends. If you can comply with those three requirements, I will return to your establishment. Century 20 El Con meets these expectations and then some. read more

This theater is in a great location, right on Broadway, next to food restaurants, and shopping centers. The staff is friendly, and the theater is clean. The seats are comfortable and I love it. I'm pretty crazy OCD and I have a specific area on where I would like to sit. Even numbers all the way through. Everyone is so understanding! It's a run of the mill movie theatre! It's clean (particularly the bathrooms), they have a good selection of snacks and the theatre seats are comfortable! What else are you looking for? They show good movies, including some smaller indie ones at times. Since it's a Cinemark theatre they also show some classic films, tapings of operas and ballets and other live performances. Pro tip: When choosing a seat, know that the rows alternate between seats where the armrest goes up, but the chair is stiff, OR seats where the armrests stay static, but you can recline a little bit! read more

El Con mall is experiencing a renaissance which makes this theater more attractive all the time due to the central location. They have nice stadium style seating with alternating rows of rocker seats and "love seats" where you can raise the arm rests to be close to that special someone we all like to go to the movies with. Concessions are what they are. Be prepared to pay upwards of ten or eleven bucks for a couple of small popcorns or, my wife's favorite, kettle corn. But what's a good flick without popcorn? At least they don't hassle you about bringing in your own bottled water. That saves you at least a couple of bucks. The total whiner in me asks: Does is bug anyone else that you show up 15 minutes early for a movie to make sure you get a decent seat, sit through the drone of advertisements and then you see someone, just as the movie starts (usually a couple), standing at the bottom of the stairs staring up into the rows of seating looking for two seats together? There are plenty of seats in the first three rows of non-stadium seating but, even though they are late (by movie going standards), they still think they can snag a prime seat. Not a bad theater, not a great theater. It fills the need. The location is really nice, very central Tucson and easy to get to. They have a nice concession area, well set-up and easy to navigate. Theaters and screens are fine, and the chairs are comfy. I like that you can lift up the arms if you're there with a significant other. Wish they had another XD screen. Also, wish they had an indoor ticketing area. When it's 110 degrees out and you have to wait in line outside, it's not pleasant. read more

Arguably my favorite theater due to location, the fact that it's in a really decent mall, and it's fast lines. Overall clean, bathrooms are usually pretty clean, theaters themselves are clean. The sound in a few of the theaters needs help. The arcade games are decent but don't always work - though they are fast to give you a refund. Staff is okay - not friendly, but fast. Prices are so ridiculous. Maybe if they ran some specials occasionally? Either that or fix all the above problems and deliver perfection for the price. read more

I bought tickets on Fandango and chose the wrong theater. We were about to just pay to see it anyway but the very sweet polite customer service agent took care of it for us and we got to see out movie, she transfered the tickets. This kind of action goes way above and beyond what is expected. All of the employees were very kind and cheerful. I don't usually go to the Century 20 at the El Con because I prefer a smaller theater with reclining seats, but some theaters are so small the seats get sold out quick. At least at the Century 20 you can still walk up and see a movie and sit together. read more

I've been coming to the Century 20 at El Con at least annually since it opened. When it was the only theatre in town with stadium seating, and I was still in that core 18-25 demographic, I visited often. After a decade and a half, they continue to maintain it and keep it clean and looking new. They have upgraded the chairs, which are now more comfortable than ever. They also recline, and they're extra-wide. The biggest downside to this theatre is that you stand in line out in the sun to buy tickets. A shade over the ticket area would be a huge improvement, and this one flaw is usually enough for me to choose the Park Place theatre instead. Now I usually only choose the El Con theatre when they're showing something that isn't playing at Park Place. The other issue I have with El Con is that their pre-show programming is a little too loud, and the previews were even louder. Luckily, the movie wasn't bad. If you have a good pair of hi-fi earplugs, consider bringing them. Neither of these things was enough for me to rate the theatre any less than 4 stars. Enjoy the show. read more

The main two things I like about this theater is that it's close to my house and I don't have to fight through swarms of mall-goers just to get to the theater. It's nothing special. Just your average American movie theater. The box office windows face west so if you're walking up to buy your tickets anytime between 10am and 7pm between May and November, it's TOASTY HOT and the poor tickets takers stare directly into the setting sun. Food is average, people are nice, seats in the bigger theaters are comfy and roomy. If you're seeing a flick a little past it's prime, you're going to a smaller, less plush theater buried in the back of the complex. Love that exit doors lead you right out into the parking lot without having to do TOO much walking outside (kinda a big deal in Tucson in the summer). Security is always circling or stationed in the parking lot after dark - which I appreciate. Prices and quality are what I have experienced at similar theaters across the country. read more

I have been here a few times and I usually just thought it was your average nothing special theater. I must say today I was proven wrong. Me and my girlfriend both got off work early and decided to come see the new "IT" movie. Everything was normal until about half way thru the movie. We where pretty close to the front, but could hear people talking in the back. It was not that big of a deal until we heard multiple people tell the loud rude people to be be quite. There was a small argument and some people left. I could tell they where going to complain. When the movie ended and we walked out we where greated by managment and they apologized for the disruption and gave everyone a free movie pass. Management talked with the people that cause the problem, and I was very surprised that they took it as seriously as they did. The fact that they took a customer complaint as seriously as they did, and compensated people even thought they did not say anything is great. Customer service like this is few and far between now and days. If you where that female manager that greeted me at the end of the 2:15 showing of "IT" today (9/15/17), I give u mad kudos.
