That's how I found Louie's Cantina, and I'm so glad I did. We have two cars now, but I still make the Thursday drive every single week to celebrate the end of my work week since I'm off Friday and Saturday. There is just something about ending the week with a cold beer and a Mexican Candy shot with bartender Vinnie that makes life a little better. I can't say enough good things about this place. Louie, the owner, comes in from time to time, and you always know when he arrives because you hear his voice as he walks in. He says hello to everyone, is genuinely friendly, and clearly takes a lot of pride in his bar. And the Mexican Candy shots? So good. They come in all kinds of delicious flavors, and I still can't decide whether I like cucumber or mango better. I especially love that mine comes in a little snifter glass so I can sip it along with my beer. Speaking of beer, it is always cold, which matters! Vinnie is one of those bartenders who can talk about just about anything, from food to music, and he is just an all-around great person. The music is good, and they also have an AMI digital jukebox, so you can play songs right from the app, which makes it even more fun. Louie's Cantina is friendly, welcoming, and just a great place to unwind. What started as a way to kill time turned into one of my favorite spots of the week.

Zero out of two for the food that I was served. Again, the wait staff was good, but I have no reason to ever come back here for the food. The owner was also in the restaurant and you could tell he was not interested in being friendly or even smiling. You can skip this grill.

I chose this one on Golf Links to visit. First, I arrived about 1 pm on a Saturday. The place was fairly busy. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. My server, Pat S came over quickly and took my drink order. She returned quickly with my drinks and I gave her my order with specific instructions. Pastrami sandwich, no mustard, provolone instead of Swiss, a side of mayo, fries and a side salad with no onions and Thousand Island dressing. Boom! Salad out first, perfect! SCORE!!! The pastrami sandwich had a decent amount of meat on it (not as much as years ago, but that's the way things are now). Pat checked on me a few times, refilled drinks when needed. Karaoke here is fun and I love their specialty drinks that change on a fairly frequent (maybe…read moreseasonal?) basis. They have happy hour specials as well, and the bartenders are consistently friendly and accommodating -- if you want them to suggest a cocktail they will. Different nights will give you different results, just depending on the event or DJ involved. I've had some really great times dancing here and then other times when it was so crowded I couldn't move a step so there was kind of no point in being there. Maybe just try it out on different nights of the week and also pay attention to the happy hour times and prices to get great deals on fun drinks when it's not so crowded.
