Love the wall of chianti bottles that lead to the bar and love that the staff dress up in casual Prohibition garb. Came here for girl's night and it was everyone's first time even at the restaurant but mine. I'd had dinner a couple times in the restaurant for my birthday and had the cheese wheel fettuccine alfredo. I asked if anyone was interested in trying it and so 3 of us split it which ended up being pretty perfect. It is hands down THE BEST fettuccine alfredo. We had many drinks come to our table, the first round being the homemade limoncello. Made with local Meyer lemons, it is deliciously potent. A must try. The bartender, Ryan or Brian, he made cocktails from the heart. A couple of gals ordered "dealer's choice" drinks and they were inspired by the drinker's stories. It was really a unique experience for them and I could almost see his mind working out the chemistry of the libations. Another must try, although I didn't because I had to drive myself home. I did have a coffee with Bailey's, Amaretto, and freshly-made whipped cream. Last must try if not on a coffee drink maybe on a dessert. One person in our party thought that the drinks were on the spendy side. Many of the ingredients were house made and all top shelf. I'm from Los Angeles so an $18 drink was a normal night at the klerb. Worth mentioning if that would be a deal breaker. Worth a go. I thought it was better than the speakeasy at the Sonoran House which was too bright and not intimate. You really like feel more like you're not where you're supposed to be at The Still. There is a curio cabinet with cigars that I think are for sale. The speakeasy opens up to the patio for all the smoke suckers. Great for a small groups or date night, maybe not the first date.

The food was great- loved the rice & veggies they used. She made and awesome mocktail- I think it was like a pear blossom or something? Really tasty! My only complaint is their restroom door is tough... takes a lot to open/close and it closes quick on itself. It slammed on my finger when I was exiting the restroom to go back to the patio. My finger was legit sore/bent/bruised for a good 2 months.. If you're leaving the national park, this is a great spot to grab a bite. I think they just need to calibrate their doors a bit so they open and close with ease and not high pressure. So be careful!

I really wanted to fall in love with this place because it sounded so wonderful, but I just didn't…read more I used their email to try to reserve a table with some certain accommodations. They got back to me right away and were very friendly and encouraging that they'd help me out. When we got there, it wasn't busy at all, so we didn't need a reservation. It was a bit disconcerting that the hostess didn't know anything about me having the reservation, but like I said, it wasn't busy at all. We put a couple tables together and had all the space we needed. The large garden setting was spacious and lit by strings of lights which created a nice ambiance. Every table was in the shade by the time we arrived, so if anything, we should've dressed warmer. Our server was friendly and answered our questions. The menu isn't huge, but there were a couple of things I could have with my dietary needs. I ordered the chili burger on lettuce instead of a bun. I upgraded to the Tuscan salad for my side for an extra $4. I asked for some ranch dressing on the side for dipping my burger. My hamburger was very well done, almost to the point of being burnt on the edges. It was hard to cut with the plastic knife I was given. The tiny bit of Tuscan salad was disappointing. It tasted ok, but was definitely not worth the upcharge for the amount I got. So, my meal was disappointing and unsatisfying. The people we ate with would probably rate the place higher than I did because they enjoyed their meals and I didn't hear much complaining. My husband got the Reuben with fries and enjoyed it. The sandwich had a sweet taste to it, perhaps from the apple on it or their sauce. The ones who ordered nachos got a gigantic portion of those. When we got our bill we saw that there was a charge for the little side of ranch dressing. It would've been nice if they'd told us when we asked for it. It might be fun to go back when they have live music.

We were seated and brought menus right away, for both cocktails and food. We decided to celebrate with margaritas: mango and strawberry. Both were delicious. Our server, a sweet and beautiful young lady, was so helpful, explaining things we weren't familiar with and offering suggestions. We decided to start with the shrimp and cheese-stuffed yellow peppers wrapped in bacon. They were so good! Although taking our time perusing the menu, I had already decided I wanted the whole red snapper with crispy skin. The owner came over to introduce himself and welcome us. We talked a bit and he said they had been open just a year and were still adding to the menu. For example they were going to make a quesadilla similar to the appetizer we had just enjoyed so much. He also brought the bad news that they were out of the whole fish and the next shipment was coming tomorrow. He said the fish filets were available and very good. He also suggested a combination platter of several things to try and that's what we went with. Before that came, a single Gobernador-style taco showed up: shrimp with cheese, onion, and bell pepper. Not sure how we ordered it, lol, but it was flavorful and delicious. We went with the mixed grill for two: grilled steak, shrimp, stuffed peppers, and marlin tacos, (minus the octopus - we just haven't reached the octopus level of sophistication... yet) with beans, rice, and flour tortillas. The beans were especially creamy and yummy. Everything was full of flavor and each item tasted different. The steak was well-seasoned but a bit chewy. We loved all of it, but the marlin tacos were our overwhelming favorite. The chef obviously believes in a little heat rather than spicy overload, so even those with a delicate palate should enjoy everything. So much delicious food but we couldn't manage any more, and packed up remaining steak, shrimp,, tacos, beans, rice, and tortillas.Looks like dinner for tomorrow. Even though we said we couldn't squeeze in dessert, our server brought a piece of tres leche cake for the birthday girl, boxed and ready to go. We couldn't resist a taste, so two tiny bites are missing. So creamy and decadent. The birthday girl took the rest home. La Perla's decor is light and inviting, with beachy colors and fish painted on the walls. The fish wallpaper in the ladies room is adorable. Bathrooms were immaculate, just like the rest of the restaurant. We are definitely going back soon.
