Years ago I had an SUV that just died while I was getting gas nearby. I walked to McBroom's since it was the closest shop (right across a side street actually). I asked if I could use their phone to call a tow truck, but one of their mechanics volunteered to come and look at my SUV and try to start it for me. This went on for about an hour until he finally decided to tow it with his own truck to their garage. The next day, my car was running so I picked it up and drove it to my side of town. It died after about 20 minutes. So why such a glowing review if my truck/SUV wasn't actually fixed? I was charged nothing for the time and effort that this mechanic put into my car. Yes, he didn't totally fix it, but he did what he could to the best of his abilities and for FREE!! Most people in the Houston area wouldn't even bother to look at one of your troubled autos without agreeing to a $75-100 fee first! I guess McBroom's is just proof that while we all complain about mechanics there are still some good ones out there. You may just need to get out to the suburbs to find them!

I took in my 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood for an alignment because I was planning on selling it and it was riding horrible. Not to my surprise the called me back and let me know that the car had other issues that needed to be addressed. I knew this already but was hoping that it would not come up. The car use to be bagged and I had another mechanic put in factory parts to rebuild a stock suspension but the car never rode right. I had several mechanics work on this suspension for repairs, checkups and to get it to ride properly but all told me that it was OK and that it just rode that way. I even took it to the Cadillac dealer of Spring, which had horrible service and did not provide any good insight at all. This place had all new Cadillacs there and it looked like they had never even seen a Fleetwood before. My bill with Absolute Suspension was fair, despite their labor rate of $90 an hour but it is totally worth it. I was kind of skeptical at first but when I got the car back, I was nothing short of amazed, to the point that I am now considering keeping it! They are fully staffed but they have a lot of customers so you might have to wait a little longer to drop off your car and pick it up but it was totally worth the wait. Highly recommended, I never thought my Cadillac would ever ride the way it does now. I will surely be going back for all my suspension needs, they are experts at what they do. They don't do much motor work, mostly under the car but that is why they are so good at it. So if you have any suspension work that needs to be done, I highly recommend you check out this place.

I went in to look at one particular model and before I knew it he had me looking at others. He was a great help at giving me different options and I even test drove several different models. I narrowed it down to a 2026 Tucson and he also assisted in getting my price as to what I was willing to pay. I finally decided which one I wanted and it was actually parked in the showroom floor with a fancy red Christmas ribbon on it. I came by later that evening with my youngest daughter and finalized the purchase. He has been the greatest and biggest help and I highly recommend working with him. I have been driving it for 8 months now and I am really impressed and enjoying my Tucson. I enjoy everything about it and have been on short road trips and it's been great. The ride is very comfortable and it's also loaded with many features. The stereo sounds awesome too! I really like the screen set up and all the cameras and its different angles. I stopped by to get an oil change at the dealership and Hunter saw me and came by to see how everything was going. I can't brag enough but he is a great person and very friendly. He is currently working in the OnLine Sales Dept and his office is in the front showroom floor. If you're interested in looking at vehicles I highly recommend talking to him. My two previous Service Dept visits were also great. My visits were for an oil change and also a system update. Audry and Mia were very friendly and kept me updated as to what the service Dept was working on and approximately how long the work would take. I found out that Mia is no longer working there but just wanted to also brag about her as well. I feel that my 2026 Tucson is a great vehicle and it's a solid one!

When my vehicle was returned, it had 1 mile of fuel remaining--not one gallon, one mile. I understand that dealerships don't normally fill up your gas tank after service, but when the service manager, Clay, specifically promises that the vehicle will be fueled before it's returned, I expect that promise to be kept. Instead, I was left wondering if I'd even make it to a gas station. Thankfully, I have AAA and was able to get two gallons of gas delivered. Without that, I could have easily been stranded. What made this experience even worse was the complete lack of accountability. No courtesy call to let me know the fuel level was critically low, no apology, and no effort to make the situation right. I even would have been willing to meet someone at a gas station with the loaner vehicle to put gas in my car if they had simply communicated. Instead, Clay suggested that I drive all the way back to the dealership in Spring to have them fill it up--even though he knows I live in Katy. That would have meant wasting a significant amount of gas just to correct a mistake the dealership made. Customer service is about keeping your word and taking responsibility when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, I experienced neither. Very disappointing.

They are a busy shop - so don't expect a speedy fix, but they will actually fix it the first time correctly for a LOT less than anyone else in town. I had an older car - which was breaking down constantly for one thing or another. He figured out the list and told me how long I could wait to address certain issues, helped me budget all the issues to get my old beater back into shape. My son drove it another 4 years before it had to go back to the shop for ANYTHING. I love Terri and his mechanics. They are always busy - and there is ALWAYS another day or three to wait from the estimate of time, but when it is finished he sticks to his estimate and he makes sure it was done right. I am a customer for life. Speaking of which, taking that beater in for one more band-aid today. First time in 4 years it has needed fixing. It just has to hold on a few more months! Ever…read more Carpro Auto Repair is located in Baytown next to a couple of used car dealerships, a carwash etc. The block is filled with a lot of random cars that are questionable if they are operable or used for spare parts. Most likely, the cars are fixed up and 'sold' to the used car dealerships. Their office is dingy. Dirty and oily waiting room with no a/c and a disgusting bathroom. They do not have an answering machine for their phone line. The owner is out of the office 80% of the time which leaves for miscommunication between the employees and the customers. The employees are somewhat friendly. They'll joke with you. They will do business with you on a good ole fashion handshake. My situation: I took my truck there on July 1st based on a referral from a co-worker. My co-worker's uncle has taken many cars there and was pleased with their work. My truck has a problem with its engine leaking oil leading to smoke clouds coming out the exhaust. The owner took a look of the truck, started up the engine and speculated that it may be valve seals. He gave me an estimated price. I agreed to it and out of good faith gave him half the money for it up front. He agreed I could make payments on the repair. Very cool. He estimated the truck would be ready on July 6-7th. I rented a car so I can go to work. On July 7th, I called and asked of the status of the repair. The employees said that the owner has not been in the office and was in and out of the hospital and repair might not be finished until July 10th. On July 10th, I did not hear anything back from them so I called them up. One of the employees said that the truck was still being worked on. I drove to carpro and spoke to the owner directly. He apologized, said that the work was taking longer than expected and he agreed to have truck ready on July 13. On July 13th, I called Carpro and asked the status. They said it was 'ready' and that I can pick it up. So after work, I picked it up and drove it home. The truck still had the same problems. I drove it back to the shop on July 14th. The owner said the problem with the truck is further in my engine and would require more work. He said that if I leave it with him on July 15th, he would work the 15th, 16th and have it ready on the 17th. He apologized for the lack of communication. On the 18th, I called and asked for the status of it, the employees said the owner was not in the office for the day. I asked the employee if the truck had been worked on, the employee said no. When I called back 3 hours later, they said it was worked on and the employee just didnt know.. On the 19th, I called and the owner picked up the phone. He said that he was waiting for a tool to get deeper into the engine. He said Nissan engines were harder to work on. I asked him "If you knew you needed this tool, why are you telling me this on the 19th from me calling you? Why aren't you making efforts to call me" He apologized. I asked him for the name of the specific tool he was trying to get. He didn't know the name of it. After a couple hours, I called him and we agreed that I'd get my truck back to original and he'd refund me the money. On the 20th, I picked up my truck, my refund and I now have to start the whole repair process over with another mechanic. I've burnt over $700 in rental fees. I've inconvenienced friends for 'drop offs' at the place expecting to pick up the truck. And now after examining my truck, I noticed a scrape mark on my front right bumper. So in other words, I left carpro in worth shape than when I started. My co-worker is ashamed by even giving me that referral. Throughout the 20 days the truck was with Carpro, they have not made 1 outbound call to me. All communication has been initiated by me when they did not meet their own estimations. Horrible horrible service. If I had the time, I would consider a small claims court suit against them to recoup my rental car fees, the damage to my bumper and punitive charges. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Horrible.

What he does not do is try to upsell you stuff like windshield wipers, etc. that will be installed for "only $19.99" unlike other businesses in Baytown.

The team was fast, professional, and very easy to work with. While I was waiting, I remembered a strange noise my car had been making and asked them to take a quick look. They found that a bar running along one of the axles had come out of place. Without hesitation, they took it apart, fixed the issue, and had everything back together in about 15 minutes. The best part? When I went to pay, I realized they hadn't even charged me for the repair. I would've gladly paid for the work, but their honesty and kindness were such a pleasant surprise. After seeing a drop of oil on my driveway I dropped my car off to be evaluated. They discovered a…read morehairline crack in the oil pan. Since my car is a Hyundai, they had to order the new part. They went out of their way to work with me on scheduling the repair even to the extent of providing transportation to and from the shop. I took my car a second time because of the auto stop/start control. I didn't know my older car was equipped with that and wish it weren't. But Chris ( I believe that was his name) explained it thoroughly and told me of a way to turn that function off. The staff is very friendly, efficient and customer oriented. I have no complaints about the repairs. I'll be taking my vehicle there again.
