1981 nails is a very nice Nail salon. I go to Selena as she does my nails really well I get a dip and it last for a month. They have a very nice set up for pedicures and just got new very comfortable pedicure chairs.. the owner is a very nice man and helps out, when it's very busy and all the workers their are very friendly.. this is one of the best Salons I have been to since moving to Ocala, it is my go to place for a good manicure and pedicure.. btw choose the Firewalker. Over charge for things you never had done and totally rough to the point my cuticles got knocked. Never listened to what I wanted and lied about the price. Like I said I would go back and I did! I made my appointment with TIFFANY!! I love how she listened to me. She takes her time! When I say Tiffany takes her time she removed my old acrylic nails and I got a new set. We talked and laughed and she made my nails perfectly square and a perfect length. I love this nail spa because the vibe and atmosphere along with the colors and the offer of complimentary water or soda and the soft music in the background. Tiffany is the best. This is the second time I've gone here for a pedicure since it opened. The first time was fine, the technician thorough and did a complete job lasting about 40 minutes. I had asked for the basic pedicure as described in their menu of services. I went last week and nothing could have been more opposite than the first time. The technician in the 15 minutes it took her to do the worst pedicure I've ever had, not only tried to upsell me on 1. A more expensive pedicure 2. And eyebrow wax 3. A special treatment for dry skin and something else I couldn't quite understand. When I flinched at the police, she stopped and did nothing to calluses. She put a little cream on my legs, almost none on ,y feet. All in all it was a joke. The absolute worst, and I really didn't notice to the end, her clippers etc. came out of her kit, not in sterilized separate bags, but just in there. BEWARE this place over charges for everything! I just paid 55. for a set with gel polish. my nails were cut to stubs. I complained and she said it cost more for longer nails. I typically get active length, but my nails are stubs. I would have paid more to keep them longer if it were offered. read more

I got my nails done here on Saturday, 2 days ago, and I will never come back to this shop again. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and it was not what I expected. First off, after soaking my feet and chipping my toes, the nail tech proceeded to paint my toe nails first before actually cleaning my feet. Now I'm no expert but I have never had that done in that order in over 20 years. Then she did my gel manicure and after only 2 days it's peeling. Like really!!! Lastly, I got my eyebrows and lip waxed, which at this point I should have stopped any services with her, and it was a total waste of money. My eyebrows were not ached correctly and she didn't even wax in between my eyebrows like everyone else before her has done. Now to put the cherry on top, she kept asking if I wanted my chin waxed and after several no's I asked her why do you keep asking me that when there's no hair there. She rubbed her hands across my chin so she knew that already. All of this cost $170 which was by no means worth it. I really wanted to love this place because it's new, clean, and close to home. However, Jessica gave me the worst manicure I've ever had. Literally, I went home and removed the polish myself and did a much better job than what I left this salon with. Jessica did the first coat of polish perfectly. The second coat was a mess and you can see from the picture she did not start at the cuticle, the whole thing was uneven. I didn't want to make a scene because the place was packed, but just decided then and there that I wouldn't return. There are too many competitors who are much more careful of the work they do and the care they take. read more

I went in two weeks ago today for a pedicure and manicure . my pedicure was ok but the polish started peeling off in two days . I left the country for my son's wedding . When I returned I called and asked to speak to boss \ owner . He was not here but left message to call me on my manicure (gel)upset.He never called . Today I called again . . I was given Tom's number to call . When I spoke with him , he said I should have to returned to shop when peeling started . I was not in the country . His only recourse was to come back in and have someone else correct bad manicure at a reduced rate of 50 percent off . This was not acceptable to me . Horrible! Worst pedicure in my life. Called ahead to see if they could see 3 of us at the same time and was told they could. We get there and they had us go right to the chairs but they didn't even let us soak our feet while we waited. It was one person at a time with 15 minutes before my sister got hers and 30 minutes before my mom. That's why I called for an appt...too bad receptionist lied to us. Also It was sooo warm in there. They're in such a rush to get you done they don't even take the time to do a good job. The guy that did my sister didn't even clean under herNot that I would return but if I had thought about it I had no idea the name of the person who did my nails. I went to salon I got a mani plain no polish just clean up cuticles and file. $25 that is outrages I usually pay at other salons $10 to 12 When I questioned the charged they looked astonished. Here I am a little over a year later, once again vacationing with my family. As is typical, my mom, daughter, and I went for mani-pedi's. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in, they made sure we were all happy with our nail color selection, sat all three of us together and brought us a cold drink to enjoy while we were getting our pedi's done. All three mail technicians were very polite and sweet! Made sure we were comfortable and that the amenities were customized to each of us. Loved the result of our mani-pedi's! Well, about four days after getting my nails done, I chipped two nails - completely my fault, lol! Polish only holds up so well when working with horses and cleaning gutters and roofs, lol. So this morning I went to have them fix the two nails I messed up. They were able to get me right in and seated, got the two nails all cleaned up and repainted, looked really great again! I went to the register and they said "no charge". I told them I have no expectation that this would be for free since they were providing time and service, but they declined to charge me. I told them I didn't even have cash on me to at least tip them for their time and service, they still smiled and shook their head and wouldn't charge me. They wanted me to be happy with my nails and to be a repeat customer. So, with all that said, yes, I will always get my nails done here when I'm down visiting. I have been very happy with their work every time I've gone there! Such great technicians that are so polite and do beautiful work! read more

When I arrived to my appointment, I was kept waiting for about 10 minutes to then be told Katelyn had an event at her child's school, so she isn't going to be in. No one had the decency to call me before I drove over. The owner rescheduled me for 2pm today. When I showed up for today's appointment, I was told Katelyn wasn't in. Came here for the first time because my regular technician is still out of town and I think I'm in love. This place recently opened in a newly constructed plaza. Tom is so wonderful. First, he greets every single customer. He actually looks up from what he's doing and acknowledges the customer. I get a lot of nail art and designs. Sometimes I'll have a vision in my head and in the middle of my artist being at work I might want to change something. This happened today. Tom was so patient and understanding. The gentleman doing my nails did a very sloppy job. Gel builder uneven in places, parts of my nails not covered. He did not do my cuticles until I asked and then did not do a athorough job.. I have never had anyone put three coats of olish ad the coats of clear on my nails. When filing my nails, there was no towel and the dust was going everywhere. read more

Terrible place to have a pedicure done at. Had a tech named Julie and she was worthless. The tools she used were in a silver suitcase and the cuticle cutters were laying on a dirty piece of paper tool on her top shelf. I didn't have to worry about it because she did the bare minimum and didn't use them. The chairs are on top of one another it's a good think I am small or would not have fit into it. I have bare spots on the polish that she used and the colors to pick from were minimum. Such a let down because not a lot of businesses in this little area to choose from. They didn't deserve the 1 star. read more
