The case manager handled all logistics seamlessly, ensuring continuous coverage during vacations, illnesses, and unexpected situations. She was also a valuable source of practical advice throughout the process. Unfortunately, our experience with the nursing staff and telephone support services was very disappointing. After our loved one passed away, we waited nearly three hours for a nurse to arrive and officially pronounce the death because only one nurse was available that day. When the nurse arrived, she did not check for a pulse or heartbeat. Instead, she simply pulled back the sheet, looked at our loved one, and stated the time of death. We felt this lacked the dignity and respect our loved one deserved, as well as the compassion our family needed during such a difficult moment. Since then, I have attempted to contact the company multiple times to discuss our concerns, but my calls have not been returned. In addition, we were left with several controlled medications and were not provided with instructions for their safe disposal. While we greatly appreciated the care provided by the social worker and CNA, our overall experience with VITAS did not meet our expectations for hospice care, and I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

We are extremely happy with their service and glad they are helping us through this change. I highly recommend them.
