The lady who helped me was really nice. I couldn't be more thankful that she stayed 20 mins past their closing time so I can pick up my laundry. I didn't realize that they're closed on Sundays and I completely missed getting it last Saturday. I don't reside in Hayward but was staying in a hotel in the vicinity for about a week. I work in the airport (usual 8:00-4pm grind) so it's quite a trip for me to cross San Mateo bridge in the rush hour traffic. Of course, I also didn't ask if they have modified hours with COVID. Apparently, even if the receipt says open M-F 8am-6pm, they're only open through 5pm. Understandable. This is why I'm super thankful for the lady for going above and beyond. She even said don't worry about it drive safe and I'll wait for you until 5:30. Whew, I barely made it but got there around 5:20pm. She also made sure I check if I have everything I need. Thank you so much 1st choice cleaners! For that, you'll definitely be my first choice for dry cleaners whenever I'm in the East Bay Area. :) The wash and fold costs $2.25/lb but minimum 10 lbs. so make sure you have a lot to bring of laundry with you if you want to avail of that price. I've been to other cleaners before and they did not do as good a job as 1st Choice. This place has done a great job on all of my dry cleaning. I once brought them a white dress shirt that had old coffee stains on it and somehow they miraculously removed it. The turnaround time is usually pretty quick, and the pricing is very reasonable. I do not know the woman's name who I drop my clothes off to here, but she is also very nice =) . This is definitely my go-to cleaners! read more

They're located on Mission going towards San Leandro. the owner is kind and personable and will try to accommodate you as much as she is able to. I've been coming here sporadically for a couple of years now. They always are consistent and fairly priced. The lady that works there is very nice and personable. They don't take too long to get your clothes done, and if you need a rush job, they can certainly accommodate that. There are only 2 parking spots on the street in front of the joint and a couple times they are taken from other local businesses, so I've had to park quickly on the driveway next to them. I stumbled upon this place via Yelp search. I had never heard of nor been here prior and so I was a little nervous; however, the owner was kind and professional from the start. She answered my million and one questions, assured me top service and that is what I got! I proud my suit here to get cleaned within 48 hrs of needing it and they finished it before my flight, in a fast timely manner and it turned out sooooo great! It looked like new ! Because they did a great job I decided to bring our office curtains here to be steamed and ironed. I brought 12 large and tall curtains which were about $150 even to steam/iron and we were very impressed with how they turned out. Not to mention, they were done FASTER than I thought. I got a call the next morning after drop off telling me they were done! I saw they provide laundry service as well so I may have to look into that next! read more

I use dry cleaning services only a few times a year. I decided to go to this place because is the one closest to my house. So I took a coat to this place and when I asked how much they said "depends" apparently they charge based on the brand but yet they let you know they have no responsibility if your piece gets ruined, what the hell is that? Anyways my baby blue Ann Taylor coat cost me almost $30dls and I have to say the job was poor. They also said that if I could wait a few days because they're "very busy" so I had to wait almost 2 weeks because I was a new customer! I have to be honest this was over a year ago but I've always wanted to let people know about this place... 1. Extremely expensive 2. Their work is not good 3. We brought our beautiful, full-length cream-colored lined living room drapes in to be cleaned. When my husband picked them up, he asked if there had been any problems and was told "No." We got them home and realized that they must have washed them, not dry cleaned them because the lining was the same size but the drapes themselves had shrunk---so the lining falls at least four inches below the drapes, which are much too short. They will cost at least $1000 to replace. My husband is going there now to see how they will make good on this. They may be great for clothing, but don't have your lined drapes cleaned here. I'm heartsick. I am disabled and it is so hard to shop and choose new things---so hard when someone destroys something old and beautiful. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience with this cleaner. They took over a month to complete my service, it was due 8/26 and I wasn't able to pick up my gown until 9/11. I paid $240 to get my wedding dress cleaned a preserved. When I came to pick it up the first time the owner showed me this gigantic box with my tiny wedding dress in it that would fit a full tulle train ball gown. I told him I would need the proper size box (about half the height). He told me ok he will order it and I will come back in a week or two when it arrives. A couple days later they called me and told me there was a box 1 inch smaller I could use. I need a box 6 inches smaller not 1 inch, so I told him no thanks I will wait for the correct size box to arrive. Another week goes by and he calls me and tells me now I have to pay $36 more in order to get the correct size box for my gown. I told him I refuse to pay more when I have already paid him $240! The ending result was he would not honor his price for $240 and give me my dress in the correct size box. I took the enormous box and will never go back there for any future business based on my horrible experience with the manager imposing illegal business practices which is giving a price and then changing it after the fact -- bait and switch. read more

So...after many failed attempts over the years to find a good dry cleaners, we have found dry cleaning heaven at 1st Choice! Every time we pick up our clothes, they look like they are off-the-rack brand new...no...they look even better. The owner makes sure the clothes are meticulously cleaned and pressed. They do a PHENOMENAL job of dry cleaning here. The owner is AMAZING!!! She is nice and helpful. The first time we met her, she took the time to explain how they clean their clothes. They are a "green" dry cleaning shop. I also love the owner because she remembers her clients. When my hubby picks up the clothes, she asks about me. When I pick up the clothes, she asks about me. Right on Mission near a lot of industrial places (tire centers, etc). Parking is a little tight, and there's cars whizzing past you left and right, but I've always gotten lucky grabbing a spot in front. It was about $14 and change for a two-piece suit to be drycleaned and a button down shirt to be pressed sans starch and only washed, not DC'ed. Seemed a little pricey, but that seems to be market rate around here. The service was prompt, and they didn't give me the stink eye for forgetting to pick up my rush items I dropped off Thursday to get Saturday (I ended up getting them Monday, but at least now I have fresh clothes for the potential next interview).There's a decent amount of drycleaners in the Hayward area, but this one will likely gain my support for the near future. read more
