I had rotator cuff surgery and went to 1st Choice for pt. Amy was my pt and she is fantastic. She got my arm moving again. It was a long rough journey but it was well worth it. She is so compassionate, caring and kind. Her expertise and encouragement helped me get my motion back in my shoulder again. I can't say enough good things about her except she is the best. 1st Choice is the only place I'd go to if I ever needed physical therapy again. I came into 1st Choice 7 weeks go broken and anxious for my future ability to be active and live a normal, healthy life. I suffered a herniation of the L5 vertibrae and was unable to get out of bed for 4 days and unable to walk for anither week. After 7 weeks of amazing hospitality and very intelligent, helpful medical advice and treatment from the staff here I can say I am now fully healed and feeling better than ever! the atmosphere here is very laid back and encouraging and the treatment I recieved was better than I could have imagined! I am going to physical Therapy after 2 Level spinal fusion. I had been going to ATI physical Therapy and was not satisfied with there program. I was referred to 1st Choice Physical Therapy and what a difference! The Therapist are very professional and actually care about you as a person and the attention that you need. My progress is improving although My Surgeon says it will be along road to recovery and I'm glad I have Amy and Alex working with me . read more

The treatment given by Dr Alex Kranz is superb. He has treated me for two different problems and my husband for two different problems and we have been miraculously cured! I wish to express my thanks and appreciation to Dr. Alex and your very professional organization. I fractured my L-1 vertebrae on 2.02.16 which led to minor surgery on 5.02.16 and then I went under the care of Dr. Alex. I was in extreme pain from the date of the injury up to when I first started seeing Dr. Alex. The first visits were painful but Dr. Alex listened to me and gave me advice and slowly but surely we started seeing progress. The in-office experience was comfortable and educational. Dr. Alex has a clam and experience air about him, he guided me through the rough times, and gave me very detailed instructions for my at home exercises. Today I am fully pain free, back to work full time and traveling weekly in my business. This accident caused a very difficult time in my life, but Dr. Alex guided me to full recovery. I am so grateful for your organization and Dr. Alex. It needs to be also mentioned that Kim and your administration staff were also a pleasure to work with, you have a great team in both your Elgin and Sleepy Hollow offices. Horrible Place, run by Bullys!!! Do yourself a favor - DO NOT pick 1st Choice Physical Therapy for the services provided, unless you are prepared to do most of it yourself. I was unfortunate enough to pick this place for rehab after knee surgery, and was treated with very little respect the entire time I was there. It became very obvious that the only reason I was there was the money I would bring - it had nothing to do with therapy, or helping patients - since they overbook everyone and I did most of it myself, meaning most of the time I was left on my own to do my own therapy - with very little guidance. They had scheduled and treating up to 2-3 other patients at the same time. They are constantly overbooked, which makes it hard to individualize any of their patients or their treatments. Once in a while, weather was a problem, such as the snow in winter - and when I missed a day because it was too dangerous to drive, I was met with disdain and disappointment on the phone when I called to cancel. I was pushed into making another appointment (for more money, of course...). On my last day there, I was left on my own - COMPLETELY - because there was another patient there that required much more time and attention than me or anyone else, because of obvious medical necessity. This is totally understandable, however it would have been a better idea to schedule this patient their own time without any other patients, or schedule a separate therapist for that patient's own treatment. The really insulting and ridiculous thing - about 30 minutes before I left - angrily I might add... because I was tired of waiting 10-15 minutes between each ridiculous exercise, or for ANY help with something, I was handed a bill from them for $1,300!!!, for their services. Afterwards, I never received a call of apology, well-being check - nothing, because my usefulness, otherwise known as THE MONEY had been worn out. I think should have been given a discount for doing most of my own therapy. Patients, their recovery, and their well-being are the last thing on their minds - the only thing that drives this company, is money and greed. Horrible, horrible place. read more

1st choice is the only place can be selected from my medical group to rehab my kneecap surgery, and I was hesitated after read above review. I started PT on 1/30/14 less than 30 days after my surgery, I had very little ROM and on both crutches and brace. Within 6 wks (2x per wk) of rehab, and I am already off the brace in the control environment and ROM at 120 degree. I did get more individual attention for the 1st of few sessions, but I was able to progress well and didn't mind to workout my own if I knew the routines. I believed PT just there to provide some individual attention but mostly rely on you to be persistent to workout at home and eventually continue workout at the health club etc. I worked very hard at home every day and had goal each week. Now, I am starting water circuit exercises at a health club and it's really helping on the pain relief or gaining strength... If the person needs lots of individual attention, and I agreed one-on-one that is needed like my 1st of a few sessions. Best wishes to all of your rehab... read more
