I can't recommend Delano (and his whole crew) enough. We just purchased a house with 20-foot…read moreceilings in the living room and needed help painting those walls/ceilings. I actually ran into the owner of this franchise of Paint's on Us at the Home Depot getting materials for another job, asked for a card, and we went from there. Delano (and his dad) came to the house, gave us an estimate, and started on the work a couple of days later. They protected our floors, walls, trim, and household items while still laying down two coats on both the ceiling and the walls. They did all the work in less than a day, and even helped by putting up a piece of trim above the fireplace which had been taken down by an earlier crew working on the house. On top of that, they quoted us a fair price and provided a written receipt for all work completed. These guys are kind, considerate, talented, and really hard workers. If you have painting to be done, I highly recommend getting in touch with Delano. We did, and it worked out beautifully.

We employed Jacob Channel Painting Inc. to remove the carpet and install 1300-square feet new…read morehardwood floor in our new house. The project started in late December in 2013 and ended the first week of January 2014. Even though there were multiple spots that the wood had not been securely glued down to the concrete and caused unleveled flooring, we paid Jacob Channel in full on Jan 6 based on his promises to come back and fix them really soon. And after several contacts reminding this unresolved issue, his team came back on Thursday Feb 13th to fix other spots but failed due to lack of appropriate tools. Before they left, they said Jacob would be in touch with us to schedule another date. However, he never got back to us or return our messages. On Feb 21th, losing faith in him, we contacted our general contractor who worked with Jacob and he told us that Jacob said he would be back in three weeks to fix the floor. We patiently waited another 3 weeks before we contacted our general contractor again. This time, Jacob promised to drop by on the coming up weekend (March 15 & 16) to get everything done while no one at all showed up and no notification was made. Due to the unattached floor, we cannot put any furniture in the room or live in there. So we still crap on an old mattress for 2 and a half months by now. In addition, the old carpet that should have been removed months ago (in December last year) still stuck in our carport at this moment. What we couldn't stand the most is, before payment, he replies very promptly. After that, very slow or no response at all.

The three of them were excellent workers in very difficult weather (HEAT) conditions. They were polite, professional, and very focused in their work. Joe also carefully explained each step in the project. I will use this fine team again, and I strongly encourage you to use Crafty Designs when you may need help with a variety of projects.

I requested the popcorn ceilings to be removed from my home. I invited Joe of Crafty Designs over…read moreto view the home. We set up an appointment for Thursday at 11. I should have known when he came at 11:40, that there would be problems, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He said he was running late and the GPS, took him the wrong way. He came in viewed all the ceilings. We spent close to an hour with him telling me how his company would remove the popcorn, give it a smooth finish, and paint. He gave me a cost of $2800, I told him I didn't want to pay that much, because no one is living in the house, I'm not sure what I want to do with at this current time and when my husband gets back in the state he's going to have the entire house remodeled. He then said $2000, and I said fine. He said the project would take 3-5 days. We agreed to meet Saturday at 9 to let him and his crew, and to hand off a key to the house. He texted me Saturday morning to say he had gotten a flat tire and could not get the until 10, but end up arriving closer to 11. He let his 2 person crew view the house and stated they would get right on it. I told them that this was a project that I was handling on my own and would be back later to check on the progress. I went back to the house at around 5 and no one was there. I went the next day which was Sunday and no one was there. I skipped Monday, and went on Tuesday at around 11, and no one was there. You could tell someone had been in the house because it had been prepped with plastic and a pole sander was in the back bedroom. I started to get worried and lose confidence in the company at this point. I had not seen any more workers no matter what time I showed up and the popcorn was still on the ceilings. I called Joe to ask what was going on and he said that the ceilings could not be taken down as he originally thought with warm water and dawn. He said the ceilings had been painted over and they would have to be sanded down, re- mudded and then painted. I told him that there was a new hole in my kitchen ceiling that was not there before he started. He tried to tell me that it was due to water damage in my ceilings. I told him no, the hole looked like it had been punctured with a pole. He then said okay well my guys will fix it. I was really nervous at this point because my husband is a general contractor but is currently in a different state for the nest year. My husband wanted to see progress being made at the house, but I didn't want any criticism from him, so I keep things to myself. Crafty Designs ended up taking two weeks to complete a 3-5 day job. I was left with sheet rock mud all over the floors and walls (because they didn't clean it up), splotchy, uneven mismatched ceilings because they did not completely sand down the ceilings, but just tried to mud over everything. They were supposed to prime and paint the ceilings but some spots just looked primed and not painted. There are air bubbles in the small bedroom which was supposed to be fixed but weren't. They didn't even remove the vents or fixtures, but just went around them. Some of the ceilings looked as I eventually showed my husband via video call, and he was upset. I called on a three way call with Joe, so that my husband could speak with him. His reasoning was he gave me a lower than normal price because he was trying to HELP ME out since I wanted to put it on a credit card (even though it says on Yelp that he takes credit card payments). It is my personal preference to pay in card for accountability purposes. He said he was losing money on the job at this point (even though he did a walk through before starting the job and agreed on the price), and its his fault because workers were never there during the day and it took longer then stated . He said the reason the fixtures and vents weren't removed was because I told him that I was going to get new fixtures when my husband does the remodel in the future. His worker told me that the mud comes off with water, I could just get it up. He and my husband got into a small tiff on the phone. They argued about the quality and incomplete work. Then I got fussed at for trying to do this on my own! I just went ahead and paid him because I can't stand confrontations of that nature. But, to top it all off I never received my door key back and will have to not only get this mess repaired but also replace my locks! I have more pictures and video also of before and after!
