Cross Creek Animal Hospital - Baracko is here for a sudden cloudy eye

I decided to reach out on a…read moreFacebook group "What's happening Fayetteville?" asking for a Veterinarian they recommended. I just felt something for Cross Creek Animal Hospital and chose them. My 16 yo pug has IVDD so he was my main concern in finding a good veterinarian. The front office sent for his former records from Lumberton. I made an appointment with Dr. Weatherman. I read about her on their website but that's all I knew. Let me just start with the phone call to the office. Immediately I felt at peace. Her voice and patience with me during my spiel had me feeling good about my choice. Entering the very clean lobby I was greeted by some happy welcoming young ladies. It was time for Baracko to go into the room now, and I asked for help carrying him. No problem and done. Asked if u needed help with him. Very nice. A very nice vet tech came in and asked all about Baracko and what he needed. She was so patient and kind with him as he's handicap. She was gentle and he appreciated her. Dr. Weatherman walked in and I was mesmerized by a beautiful young woman. She has the sweetest calm voice. She was so gentle with Baracko and thorough. She talked to me about her feelings about moving forward with Baracko's health plan moving forward. She is so sweet and will sit down with you and have a chat about your baby. I can't say enough about her and I'm so glad Baracko is under her care. The ladies at the front desk are so accommodating and helpful. Each and everyone of them. I have needed refills and help with my appointments and they are so willing to help, they make you feel like you matter. I needed help getting Baracko outside and to the car and I didn't feel bothersome at all because the young lady was happy to help. I have got to say that all in the months that I have been with this veterinarian office I haven't once had a negative feeling towards one person or the hospital ever I made the right decision 100% and I could name names but each and everyone of the staff Are really awesome people.

Very uncomfortable and chaotic environment. It may have been a crazy day. Two aggressive dogs approached me and my calm dog and nobody intervened or did anything about it. I broke my shoe in the process and then was told that my dog couldn't get his nails trimmed by Dr. Brown (which I requested when I booked). My dog has had an iffy past and trusts Dr. Brown only and I was highly disappointed. I left with no nail trim and barefoot from fighting dogs off my dog in the waiting area.Unfortunately, the way I was treated left me with not wanting to go back to this vet for services.Very disappointing.

The staff at five points was wonderful with her and went the extra mile to ensuring that she was safe and stable throughout her stay. They made sure she was comfortable and keep a close eye on her at all times. Upon our return, Georgia was active, alert, and enthusiastic to see not only us but the staff members when we went in to get her. In order to assist her with her mobility issues, they tried various mat and rug configurations to make sure she was okay throughout the night. I have to admit I was concerned leaving her but whenever my husband checked the video feed she seemed content. It was a relief knowing she was so well taken care of and seeing her happy when we picked her up. They even had a detailed sign on the door of her suite outlining all of our concerns and her issues. It was reassuring to know that everyone who cared for her knew our concerns. We just hope that they enjoyed the time with Georgia as much she enjoyed spending with them. Five Points Pet Resort is more than two hours from our home and we have initially chose them because they had someone that checked on the babies in the evening. Little did we know how kind and caring everyone on staff would be. This was our second time staying at Five Points and the long drive is work every minute knowing our girl is being well cared for. Thank you again. PS. I can't believe how busy she is today; she clearly feels good.

Dr Japeth was so kind and patient in making sure we completly understood the TPLO surgery our Miller required. Once we went to the clinic, the staff made sure the entire process was simple and efficient. We received updates during the procedure and the discharge process was a breeze. Our Miller is recovering nicely and improving every day. I would definately reccomend this clinic to everyone, even if their pet doesnt need surgery. The entire staff is awesome!

I almost never write reviews, but after what happened today, I simply could not let this day pass…read morewithout writing one! I am a veterinarian myself, although I have worked with horses for over 30 years, not small animals. I have a 3 1/2-year-old Boxer/Golden Retriever mix (90 pounds) who is probably the sweetest and most loving dog I have ever had in my 50 years of life! For the past two months, he has been struggling with gastrointestinal problems and difficulty tolerating his food, we tried different diets, including professionally formulated homemade food and commercial foods marketed as natural, but it has been a very difficult experience! During this process, he lost about eight pounds. Yesterday, he suddenly had the worst stool I have ever seen from one of my own dogs, with a significant amount of blood! Shortly afterward, he vomited food he had eaten about six hours earlier, I spent the night beside him while he had nausea and very loud intestinal sounds. He was still alert and was not severely dehydrated because I had been caring for him, but I knew I could not simply wait for him to become worse! I needed a small animal veterinarian with experience to examine him, run some basic tests, and help me decide what medication and food he needed. At 7 a.m., my daughter and I went to the veterinary clinic where I have taken my dogs for more than five years, they could not see him and recommended an emergency hospital, I had already called the emergency hospital the night before and was told the wait could be seven to eight hours! Another option was to leave my dog there in a cage all day and someone would examine him whenever they had time! I could not leave my nauseated and uncomfortable dog in a cage all day waiting for someone to have time to see him! Never! We called clinic after clinic that morning! Everywhere we called, all we heard was, "Sorry, we can't see him." At that point I was desperate! I prayed and asked God to please open one door for us and help my dog! That door was Highland Veterinary Hospital!! The woman who answered the phone was incredibly kind! She listened and understood what was happening, Instead of simply saying "no" and "sorry", she spoke with the veterinarian, and although their walk-in appointments are normally for established clients, Dr. Josh Barkman said, "Bring him in! I'll see him!" I will never forget those words From the moment we arrived, everyone was wonderful! Not only Dr. Josh, but the receptionist, technicians and assistants, every person treated us with kindness and compassion!! Dr. Josh listened to me, examined my dog, ran the tests we needed, including bloodwork, fecal and pancreatic testing, prescribed his medications, and helped me choose a therapeutic food he has personally worked with for years!! By noon, I was already home with my dog! His tests had been done, he had his medication and new food, and finally I knew what to do! He ate, his nausea settled, he became comfortable and peacefully went to sleep I cannot adequately express what that meant to me. After more than 30 years as a veterinarian, I have always believed that when someone comes to us because an animal is suffering, compassion has to be part of our profession!! Animals cannot speak for themselves, and their owners are often frightened and do not know what to do! Today I experienced that situation from the other side not as the veterinarian, but as a desperate owner trying to find someone willing to help my dog! Highland Veterinary Hospital reminded me today what compassion in veterinary medicine looks like! I will be forever grateful to Dr. Josh Barkman and the entire team at Highland Veterinary Hospital!! You have earned not only my trust, but my deepest gratitude! May God bless Dr. Josh, his family, and every person who works there! Thank you for opening your door to us when we desperately needed someone to do so! I will never forget this day.
