Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Melanie had a timeline of everything that needed to get done (even the little things) and she made sure we were on-schedule. She gave us excellent vendor recommendations (people told us that the food was the best they've had at a wedding, and the band was a huge hit as well!). She was extremely responsive and would even have us send her things we liked from Instagram for inspiration. Every time we got off the phone with her we would look at each other and say "I'm so glad we have Melanie on our team." She kept us on-budget and helped us understand what it was worth it to spend on as we searched for venues, caterers, bands, flowers, and more. During the wedding week and weekend, Melanie kept everyone calm and on-task. She made sure all the tents, tables, chairs, etc were delivered on-time and everyone was where they should be. She took care of all the "little things" that we didn't think of and even coordinated our rehearsal. The event was beautiful, and we owe a lot of that to Melanie's tasteful suggestions. (She also let us borrow a lot of her own things like signs and a cake stand.) Melanie was always one or two steps ahead of us on wedding day, and we didn't have to think about where we should be for photos or speeches- we really go to enjoy the day and be present. I communicated with John and his wife through email and phone. I met with them at the Jarvis Center on Monday before the wedding and went over final details. They were so nice and helpful. They let us decorate from 9 am until 9:30 pm the day before the wedding. The room was transformed and worked great. At the reception people danced all night. Their large commercial kitchen was amazing and my caterer loved it. I couldn't have asked for a better place to have my reception and I am 100% happy! We got exactly what we asked for because he was so thorough! Another big bonus was how fast we got the DVD with pictures. The managers help plan events but hosts may DIY the meetinghouse decor as early as the night before! I attended a summer wedding here. Staff provided coordinating and bartenders but every other vendor was hired by the bride and groom. They gave us space to prep and store appetizers, which was clutch. Josiah's Meetinghouse is along a major route, which makes it easy to find but adds traffic sounds to ceremonies outside. Cranking the music helped our party drown it out. As long as they're not busy, they're pretty generous with time.

Second; Parking Lot Lighting. It's an obstacle course out there in the dark. Third; terrible acoustics. A lot of this is probably on the band but; the sound level and quality were agonizing, at times. Fourth; Josiah's Management has made a decision that it's a good idea to shoehorn advertising into every opportunity on the Dance Floor. Neon Lights continuously flash their logo across the wedding guests. The epitome of tackiness and tastelessness. I've never seen anything like it. I'm not sure if it shows up in photos but; it sure was an eyesore in person. Overall, an enjoyable night, as Weddings usually are but; I sure wouldn't recommend Josiah's Meetinghouse. Especially for an evening affair with mixed age attendees.

My wife and I got married at the Seacoast Science Center last month. We ordered a dance floor,…read morechairs, tables, linens, napkins, bowls, and trash cans from Exeter. They have a lot to choose from, and the prices weren't bad. Exeter was willing to change our order when we needed to, and we got some discounts. They were amazing at setting up and breaking down what we needed, and our ceremony and reception venues looked great! The Exeter showroom is also nice. There was some staff turnover during our planning process, and it seemed that unfortunately some paperwork and details did slip through the cracks in the transition. The first person we worked with was fantastic, knowledgeable and very responsive. The second person was less so. We made a CAD layout of what the venue/tent should look like, but then our rep sent the incorrect layout to the delivery crew. Luckily, the guys intuitively knew it wasn't right and didn't start setup until they had procured the correct one from us. We appreciated their experience working events at the SSC, and we still ended up getting what we needed and had a wonderful wedding day, which was great.

The guys did a great job setting it all up. Everything went very smoothly, and our questions were always promptly answered along the way- we were able to add on items and each time received a full invoice- I never felt that we were being "upsold" at anytime for anything. We rented pretty much all of our items from them- the tent, tables, chairs, linens, plating, bar ware, grills, griddle, serve ware-- everything arrived clean and undamaged. If it is not raining, there is room for a tent, though we wanted a Bridgerton-esque feel with string quartet and all. But the barn was perfect, clean and our guest loved it. After out engagement photo sessions there was no doubt in our mind that we had found our Wedding day photographers. We never once had to follow up with them, like the many other vendors we did. From the very beginning, they were flexible. They worked with us on creating a custom wedding package that included full access to all the pictures as well as a coffee table memoir book. They were phenomenal at the wedding. We got so many comments about how they seemed to capture every image but were never in the way. They arrived hours before the wedding to set up and to get familiar with the ceremony/reception layout for great places to take pictures. Being prepared is an understatement of what this husband/wife team can do. They were the one aspect of the wedding that we did not worry about. Not only can they make the guest laugh but they make you feel like family. In short, we got married Feb 24th 2012. As I write this today (only one month later) I currently already have the CD with all images in my hand. Not only that but it came in a specially printed photo album cover (with our pictures on it) so that the disks can be proudly displayed. This is the type of detail that I am talking about, the type of detail one does not think about. Going above and beyond what a customer expects and blowing them away with every step of the process. The website with our photos was up only 2 weeks after the wedding and I have already received that proofs for the coffee table memoir book. They sent me the proofs and I did not need to change a thing. I actually forgot to include our vows so with a quick e-mail to them, they added it to the album and sent me the updated proof within 24 hours. How is that for first class service?
