DJ Jodi was everything we could have imagined and more. She was communicative and responsive throughout the planning process and just an overall nice person. After our initial meeting we knew we were in good hands, and that was all reaffirmed on our wedding day. She perfectly curated a playlist that included all of our favorite songs, while also reading the energy of the crowd and keeping the dancing going all night long. We had people aged 19-88 on the dance floor until the last song played, and even then it was hard to get everyone off the dance floor. We hired Jodi to DJ our wedding this past June for a wedding reception in Watertown, MA. Working with Jodi prior to the BID GAY (Day) was effortless. She basically became our wedding planner. With her years of experience, she provided advice on day of coordination since we were planning a party from another state. She showed up early to set up and everything worked out really well. Amazing. She DJ'd my brother's wedding and mine. She met with us ahead of time and went over what we wanted, didn't want, and had great ideas about things we weren't sure of or hadn't thought about. Answers questions/emails/phone calls promptly. She wasn't familiar with a radio station that we cited as a "we like this sort of stuff" resource, but she researched it and nailed what we were looking for. On the day of our wedding, she was on time and flexible. When we had unintentionally changed a few small details, she just rolled with it and kept everything running smoothly. She pretty much ran the day after the ceremony ended and kept things on schedule. Very professional, polite, can read a crowd. Everything we expected and more, and very reasonably priced. My wife and I got married on October 1, 2016 at Lake Parlin Lodge near Jackman, ME. We knew exactly who we wanted our DJ to be; we had been to several DJ Jodi events and always had an absolute blast! DJ Jodi went above and beyond for our wedding! We can't thank her enough! We met a few months before the ceremony and talked through the overall atmosphere we were hoping to create, our musical preferences, and so on. We wanted a cool, laid back vibe for our cocktail hour and an upbeat, dance club feel for the main reception. Our goal was to keep the dance floor full the entire night, with no slow songs if at all possible. Jodi delivered! All of our guests told us what a great time they had and how much they loved the music. Mission accomplished! Jodi was also super helpful as we thought about the music and setup for our ceremony. She offered some suggestions and answered all of our questions around equipment for the ceremony site, which was lakeside near the water and slightly removed from the lodge where the main dance floor was. Everything went off without a hitch and Jodi helped keep things moving smoothly through the ceremony processional, recessional, reception intros, dinner and onto dancing the night away. Out. Of. This. World. We worked with DJ Jodi for our Portland, ME wedding this past weekend and she knocked it out of the park. From the prep beforehand, to communicating with the venue, to managing our complicated bi-cultural (US/English - Colombian/Latin) playlists, she nailed it every step of the way. Jodi turned out to be our de facto wedding planner, as she works through extremely helpful planning documents with you ahead of the event to make sure things flow without feeling forced. She kept really careful notes on exactly what we wanted, but also managed to get more than just the technical pieces - actually capturing the "essence" of us and our event. She managed our toasts and special elements (like la hora loca) seamlessly and with flexibility, given we were playing much of the evening by ear based on when the kitchen would be ready with dinner and late-night food. The main thing we wanted from our wedding was for people to dance their faces off - and that's exactly what happened - even beyond our expectations. The music was impeccably mixed. Song order brought the party along perfectly. The sound was excellent. Jodi played for 9 hours and was on point and happy the entire time. Jodi is also just a super nice and cool human! Very professional without being impersonal or stuffy. We loved having her around. Not only did WE love her, but our guests cannot stop raving about the dance party. When people tell you "this is the best party I've been to in YEARS," and "the music is LITERALLY perfect" you know your DJ is killing the game. My wife and I got married 10/20/12 and wanted to write this review as soon as we got the chance. DJ Jodi was incredible! I am a huge lover of music and had very specific ideas about what I wanted musically from the pre-ceremony music to the final song. She sat down with us and from the very beginning assured us that we could have as much or as little input as we wanted about the music. She was extremely professional and detail oriented. She asked what we envisioned for our wedding day and got to know us as a couple. We were in touch as the time went by and we met about a month before and she wanted to go through the ceremony step by step and make sure that she had everything correct and ready. She is extremely good about reading the crowd and keeping the dance floor packed. She played pretty much all of the songs that we requested and people raved about the music and dancing. She also helped out with announcements we wanted made about birthdays and an anniversary. She was such a pleasure to work with and we will recommend her to anyone that needs a DJ for any event.
