We stayed at the Twiggley's Tree House. The cottage was small but very cozy. Everything was tidy and well put together. There were three separate entrances to the other parts of the cottage so other parties wouldn't disturb each other. The cottage had a mini fridge and a small fireplace. The cottage was located conveniently by the main street (two blocks away) so you could easily walk to the main street. It was a lovely cottage and Dennis was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Fredericksburg.

The living room, kitchenette, king bedroom with large closet and bath were so nice to return to each day after touring the area. And, so nice that it's located just a few blocks from Main Street. The owner, Dennis, was very welcoming and helpful! He prepared and served a delicious gourmet breakfast each morning and is an interesting and delightful conversationalist with guests. He's an excellent cook and left cookies in our apartment each day. We look forward to staying here again!!!

I rented this cabin to celebrate & surprise my husband for his 40th birthday and not to toot my own horn but.....TOOT TOOT because my hubby was so surprised & really enjoyed himself!! :))) This wifey did good!! ;)) We rode my hubby's motorcycle to Luckenbach and the ride itself is so peaceful, very scenic, & it's guaranteed that you'll see lots of deer on your ride to Luckenbach Lodge so be careful & keep an eye out. The cabin itself was super cute and very clean! I chose cabin #1 because of the tub and I am so glad I did! Once you figure out how to turn on all of the features for this awesome tub it is sooooo relaxing! I'm talking "Calgon Take Me Away" relaxation!! ;)) My husband and I really took advantage of taking our "spa-like" baths together during our stay! :))) We also really enjoyed lounging on the back patio and listening to the live music playing at the Luckenbach music stage, which is literally across the creek from the cabin. The cabin did have a mini fridge stocked with complimentary waters & sodas (thanks Paul), a microwave, Keurig coffee machine, plenty of towels, a portable small grill, and tv. Just an FYI, the cabin only had a small wall barrier that didn't go all the way up to the ceiling separating the bathroom area from the bed area & no door so having privacy while in the bathroom really wasn't a thing so for those of you who are newbies in your relationship, my advice to you is to tell your honey to wait out on the patio ;)) while you have your one to one time w/ the bathroom or you can just take care of business over at the Luckenbach stage area where there are plenty of clean restrooms for use :)). We truly enjoyed our stay at the Luckenbach Lodge and for sure we will be returning very soon but next time we are going to be staying more than just 1 night! -Rebecca out

It was Heaven and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to return for our 21st wedding anniversary this past February 2022. This stay was for longer and we didn't think it could be any better than our 1st visit and yet it was. The weather was very cold but the days were beautiful and cabin 3 had a wonderful heater that warmed the cabin perfectly. Our 1st morning we woke up to find the Keurig coffee maker was not working. My husband sent Paul an email to make him aware of this just as an FYI knowing we would need to drive to the nearest store for our morning fix. We left that morning as we had a full day planned ahead of us and to our surprise when we returned at the end of the day there was a brand new Keurig awaiting us at the door!! My real rating is 4.5 stars, for "Annie's" cabin, which is where I stayed…read more I love, love, love the bathroom. Old stone floors and stone masonry around the tub, wow! It's just gorgeous, take my word. The only negative is that it must have been ages since anyone had used the jets in the tub - because the first night they kicked out a bunch of black goo :( And, there is a drain in the tub getting a bit worse for wear. But, it fits two large people and was very comfy :) One great thing about the stone floors is they are slip-proof. The main room is also lovely, very spacious, with two comfy armchairs for relaxing in and a comfortable king sized bed. I loved the colors and textures on the walls and floor. My only minor quibble here is that the upholstery and bedspread were looking a bit worn -- I know this is a 'period' cabin so I like the antique wood and brass furniture -- but when it comes to fabrics...I like them newer. Call me spoiled. That said, this place was lovely and we very much enjoyed the peace, quiet, privacy. The only reason I'm not rounding up to five stars is expectations others would have from a "five star" residence which is a bit more 'luxury' than 'antique' - though this was an experience I would not have traded away for a five star modern suite somewhere. Oh yeah - they have wifi included. Sometimes it was a little weak, but it mostly worked and got the job done (since some of us can't ever be 100% disconnected from our jobs, boo!) I liked that our cabin did not have a television, though some people might have an issue with that... but with a two person hot tub I would hope you could find something better to do!

Crazy chandelier made out of antlers. Barbed wire as tasteful decoration on the ceiling. Bathroom is bigger than many living rooms. Huge jacuzzi in it that we loved. Outdoor courtyard could fit 50 people, or, in our case, 2. We had drinks there in the evening and coffee in the morning. There's a lovely hammock. It's walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and music venues. The only thing that was a little odd, but sort of quaint at the same time was the fact that when the wind blows in the fall, and the pecans fall on the roof, it's very loud because it's a tin roof. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. (Note: when searching for a b and b in Frederickburg, be aware that there are over 300 to choose from and many of them have heart-shaped hot tubs and super tacky pink quilts on teh beds. This is much more tasteful than the ones we saw after an hour of research. Also, many of them require two-night stays and this one allows a one-night stay both during the week and on the weekend.)

We were looking for a place to stay while in Fredericksburg and stumbled upon God's Country Cabins…read moreon Airbnb AND through the management company Gastehaus Schmidt. Since it was Easter weekend and we were booking only 3 days in advance, we ended up booking one of the cabins for our weekend getaway. We were definitely happy with our choice. It was a good 7 miles from Main Street Fredericksburg which wasn't too long of a drive from town. However, it was definitely off the beaten path. You'll wind through some country roads before you hit a gate with an access code for the 4 cabins. The grounds were well maintained and the four cabins formed a little community in the gated area. We stayed in "Mercy" which was one of the middle cabins - there was a designated parking spot for each cabin and wooden walkways leading up to the cabin. The cabins were made completely of wood, including the kitchen island and the bar stools made to look like wine barrels. The rocking chairs on the porch and the wine barrel table was a nice touch. The cabins all contain a little living area with a small love seat, a TV, and a small kitchen complete with an island, microwave, sink and refrigerator. It comes furnished with a set of plates and silverware - enough for 2 people. The owners left us cookies and a nice little welcome note, which was a nice touch. The cabin each contained a king size bed and a bathroom with a spacious standing shower. The beds were a little uncomfortable, as were the pillows, but the sheets were soft. There are ceiling fans in both rooms (living and bedroom) and a small A/C unit, which we set to 68 at night but wasn't very cold. The water was also warm but didn't get very hot. The cabins provided towels and shampoo, body wash and conditioner. Overall, it was a nice space for a romantic getaway for 2. There is a shared patio space in the middle with a tiny bbq grill, like the ones you see at a state park, and a round table set on top of a wooden patio to be used for lunch/dinner, etc. It is lit at night and the paths are also lined with motion sensored lights for visibility. It was quiet and you do not hear your neighbors at all, especially since this is an adult only facility. We enjoyed it and liked the country feel of the cabins a lot! From the looks of it, the cabins were brand new and from the guestbook, only 4 or 5 other couples stayed here before us. Clean, new, and private with everything we needed! We drove into town for wine tasting and breakfast, and drove another 45 mins to a little over an hour to Enchanted Rock State Park and Pedernales Falls State Park in Johnson City!

Even booking.com had issues getting to them, and they told booking they wouldn't give me a refund. This is an issue. A nasty one at that. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend staying at this place. These are HUGE roaches!
