I just returned from a 2 night "solo",stay.I couldn't have loved it more.I was in room 207 which is at the top of the stairs,in the back of the building. This room has a view of the pool. While the room is a bit dated, that really is the idea with this room.I loved the exposed rock wall in the room.Letting you know that all the rooms are all upstairs and the stairs are outside. This room has a wonderful, but very high bed.The bath tub is also very high, which could be a problem for some people. There is no separate shower. The tub/shower are wonderful... lots of hot water and great water pressure.Breakfast was delivered right on time and hot and delicious both days. There is parking, which is a real plus because Fred is so busy. The location is perfect,as it's right in town. This place is not fancy,so if you're after that, look elsewhere.I found it very comfortable and it was everything I was after.I will certainly return, one day.The hostess was very helpful with suggestions I asked her for.I did not use the pool but it was very well maintained and pretty.

Let me start off with the PRO's! Location is PERFECT! No need for Ubers - we parked in their lot and didn't move the car for 2 days. The room is absolutely lovely - beautifully decorated with a huge bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were heavenly. We loved that breakfast was served to our room each morning. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway.....this is not your place. If you are a heavy sleeper, you'll probably be fine. But if you're a light sleeper like me, you'll be miserable. We stayed 2 nights and both nights were nonstop noise. The corridor leading to the rooms was constantly noisy - loud shoes, people on cell phones, yelling back and forth, etc. The walls are paper thin and we could hear water being turned on in the room next to us. The worst part was the street noise. Loud trucks blowing horns and loud engines/exhaust all night long. Just be warned of this!! The other downfall.....housekeeping. The shower had hair on the floor. The glass doors into the restroom were filthy. They leave you dishes and silverware in the room. We used some of it on our first night to share dessert. The next day after housekeeping had come, the dirty dishes were left. All that had been done was the bed was made and fresh towels left. I felt that a little more housekeeping could have been done so that was disappointing.

We rented the Falling Star Retreat through Main Street Bed & Breakfast for my bachelorette party in March. I usually take a girls trip to Fredericksburg and stay at the main location on Main Street, but because of our large party, we wanted a more private space. At first glance, the house was beautiful and large, the perfect size for our party. Our experience went extremely downhill when we were getting into the bed in the master bedroom and found an old used (stained) female medical diaper between the sheets in the bed. We were disgusted and appalled. The medical diaper was picked up with a plastic zip loc baggie and put in a bag so that we could dispose of it properly. The girls sleeping in that room felt very uncomfortable and couldn't sleep. Upon telling the front desk (her name was DeeDee) at the main location on Main Street, we began to feel better as she expressed how "appalling" and "disgusting" finding the diaper was. DeeDee said she'd get the owner, Jennifer, in contact with us to remedy this ASAP. Jennifer said she would go to the house to inspect the diaper. We had left the diaper in a zip loc baggie by the bathtub in the master bathroom (because the diaper was old, used, and disgusting and we were very grossed out by it). Jennifer later texted claiming that she changed the bedding, but she believes that the diaper was "very wet and fresh" and she was "pretty positive you have a very embarrassed guest who it belongs to." All 11 girls can attest to the fact that the diaper was, in fact, old, and stained. All of the 11 girls in attendance were under 35, and were asked about the diaper before we told DeeDee. As the bride, and friend of all of these girls, I can promise that none of them use diapers, and if this was one of theirs, they would have been honest. Our entire group was not only disgusted by the diaper itself, but incredibly disgusted by Jennifer's reaction to the entire situation. Jennifer was incredibly defensive, saying that she "made the bed" herself and nothing was in it. The mistake we made was not taking a picture of the diaper, and trusting that Jennifer would trust us and help remedy the situation. I'm including screenshots of our texts with Jennifer to exemplify how incredibly rude she was to our party. I am a loyal patron of Main Street Bed & Breakfast, but I will not book with any of Main Street Bed & Breakfast's locations in Fredericksburg ever again and will caution anyone planning to use them. I fully believe the cleaning of any and all of their properties is horrifying, and Jennifer was incredibly unprofessional and rude to our party.

Celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary in Fredericksburg and trip has been made better by staying at the Main Street Bed and Breakfast. Our room is charming and cozy. Could not have hoped for a better place to wrap up a long day than in the comfort of our room. Would definitely stay here again.

Main Street B&B is a great escape in Beautiful Fredericksburg. We spent one night in room #201, which was spacious and comfy. The separate living room area is really nice. The breakfast was delivered at 9am to our door and was both hearty and delicious. The only drawback to this specific room (and 202 I presume) is the historic windows do not block any of the traffic noise. Cars not a big deal, but 290 has semis and motorcycles all throughout the night and both are quite loud. So that brings me to the customer service part of this review. The front desk manager (owner?) was very accommodating a and recommended the Enchanted Suite at their sister property just kitty corner from us. She let me check it out, and for the $20 and 100' increases, the difference was heavenly. This suite is more updated, larger and has a killer bathroom. Much roomier even if no separate living room. So overall a fantastic experience here!

When we arrived we were able to catch the front desk lady to check in with an actual person unlike some of the other reviewers experienced. The location was very convenient walking distance to all the shops & restaurants on Main St. The pool was not kept up at all it was full of leaves I guess during the fall/winter months they don't keep it up. We stayed there the first week of November, the hot tub was covered but I'm not sure it even worked. Our room was small, paper thin walls you could hear every-time someone walked by & their conversation. The room wasn't that clean it was dusty & there were hairs in the tub. There was no shower just a tub with a pull out shower head. Our second day there the toilet messed up, the chain came off the lever & we called the front desk lady @4pm ish & after numerous calls she ended up coming to "fix" it at around 9 so yes we were without a toilet for all that time. She didn't "fix" it she used a paper clip for a fast fix and didn't seemed surprised it had messed up. One of the only bright spots was the breakfast it was hot fresh & homemade - an egg item with bread & juice. They definitely take time out for the breakfast. Check out was different there was no one at the front desk area door was locked so us & another couple just stuck our door keys in their mailbox there. The parking is ok not a lot of areas to park, beware of the bump coming into the parking area from mainstreet especially if you have a low sitting car. I'm not sure how the parking is on the busier days we went during the week but the spots are small. I recommend just parking along the sidewalk area by the stairs if possible. Don't think I would stay here again.

This place was ok. Wish they offered bottles of water or snacks like other b&b. I spent $190 today on a Sat. One thing I really liked was the emptiness of this place. Towel in the restroom kind of smelled. Made me wonder about the cleanliness of the dishes in the room. The floors were loud, you can hear workers walking and banging stuff around. Wish they had better shampoo /travel size instead of fun size. Granted this isn't a hotel. Didn't really sleep well due to the noise but it was a quiet getaway from home so that was nice. For the price, I think next time I'll try somewhere that offers a little more. There are B and B here on mainstreet I reviewed while my stay here that offers free beer and wine, water, treats on Main Street. Sooo review before you book.

I've been coming here every year since 2012. It almost feels like a second home at this point. Up until this year it was managed by Main Street Bed and Breakfast but it looks like the owners are opening up to some other services as well this year. Breakfast is no longer included but that hardly matters because this place is so perfectly located near Main Street. You can easily walk to any number of eating places. You've also got a full kitchen so you can pretty much prepare any meal you want if you're looking to save a few bucks. A very nice living room along with 2 beds and 2 bathrooms make this a great place for a family to stay or even couples. There's also a hot tub in back although I've never bothered to use it. Bottom line is this is currently a great place to stay in Fredericksburg. Just don't book it when I'm planning to be here! ;)

Room 209 balcony table and chairs, comfy bed, beautiful doors and tile. Loved our stay
    Alyssa M.

My husband and I stayed a night here and it was beautiful and exactly what we needed for a night away. Room 209 is where we stayed, the entrance was on the balcony on the back of the building. We had a view of the pool and a very cute table with chairs where we sat to eat breakfast and read. Beautiful room, comfy bed and large bathroom made this quaint B&B the perfect place to stay on Main Street.

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

We really only heard traffic during the day, it was pretty quiet at night, and day traffic didn't bother us. The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. I will make note that you can see straight down into Winterberry from the door of the second floor cabin next door. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. Debbie was truly delightful, very sweet. She brought the biscuit basket we ordered for our final morning. The biscuits were really very good, they come in the cutest setup, with the biscuits sitting on a bread warmer. Great experience overall. After hearing that they are well known for their little B&Bs this one stood out among the rest for our weekend trip. We were going to be visiting on our 15th anniversary and lucky for us they still had some Saturday night reservations a few weeks before our trip. We originally had the Evening Star reserved but a lovely woman from the reception reached out to us upon seeing our reservation and asked if we wanted to be upgraded to the Weber House - for no additional charge! This was an absolute yes! What a nice gesture since they knew it was our anniversary - based on the questionnaire during check out. Some of the buildings are split with multiple room offerings- like the main hall- the Weber House however we stayed in was just us. We had a cute porch, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hugeeee bathroom with clawfoot tub and a screened in outdoor porch. Some of the bigger houses you can rent have room for multiple people but ours was intended for 2 people. They also have a cute library with some books and DVDs you can borrow. The property itself was VERY quiet. When we arrived we checked in at the little office upfront. The girl working even walked us to our little house since we had never been on the property before. Whoever stayed at the house the night before had broken the glass on the little table in the kitchen which was a bummer, so we could not use that, and maintenance was off on weekends. But otherwise it was the cute quaint place. Bed was comfy, central AC even though the buildings themselves pre-date that. Each one is unique too! We especially liked sitting on the screened in porch at night and enjoying a bottle of wine. In the morning they promptly left breakfast in a basket at 9am at our doorstep that was home cooked. There are lots of options around Texas for romantic spots so that doesn't sound too hard, right? Well, it wouldn't be if you weren't dealing with a hormonal, PMSing girl with mad food cravings because she's trying to be good and eat low carb to squeeze into the size-too-small bridesmaid dress that she ordered. Too much info? I digress. We hit the wine road towards Fredericksburg and after seven wineries, 42 tastings, and six bottles later, he brought me to the most adorable place I've ever stayed at: Carriage House. In case you're wondering, it was just as adorable the next day when I was more sober (my photos don't do the place justice). The outside of the main house was pretty, but no, we weren't staying in the main house- he did better than that. Off to the side of the main house was a little cottage standing by itself. "EEEEE, we're staying in there?!" my tipsy self gushed. The girly squeals only intensified after I saw the interior of the cottage. Hubs had outdone himself. A few tips for first timers: Dogs under 30lbs are allowed to stay for an extra $10/night. You have your very own private parking spot that is literally right next to the cottage. Once parked, you will find a little gate about a yard in front of your car; the gate leads right to the front of the cottage. In addition to the usuals that are provided at a hotel, the cottage is also supplied with dishes, silverware, and wine openers. Just check the drawers around the kitchen sink. Towels and extra toiletries are located under the bathroom sinks, and there is a step stool located underneath the (very high) bed. If you're short, use it. If you've been drinking wine all day, use it. When in doubt, use it. You're not actually served breakfast in bed here. Instead, you're given $10 vouchers (one for each guest) that can be used at several popular brunch spots in Fredericksburg. If Carriage House had a cheesy slogan, I would imagine it to be something along the lines of, "Carriage House: Drink Wine and Fall in Love." So friends, drink wine, fall in love, and check this place out. But don't try to book on my birthday weekend. Because it'll be mine.

The room was appointed in beautiful old world charm. It had a huge king size bed that sits high off the floor, an old hard wood cloths wardrobe and night stands on each side of the bed. It was also furnished with a couch that pulls out into a bed and also a coffee table. The bathroom was great , it has a huge jacuzzi soaking tub that easily accommodates 2 . Thankfully, we found out that it's not quite as expensive as it looks, and we could afford to stay there, so we did! The room was wonderful and very comfortable. I love the stone wall! Only qualm I had was in regard to the shower/tub. The jacuzzi tub itself was amazing, but they put a "rainshower" head above it for showers. First of all, it was a regular showerhead pointed straight down, not a rainshower like those positioned that way should be. A sign asks you to utilize the shower curtain properly so there is no water damage... which is impossible even when using the curtain. It's just a very odd setup. There will be water damage just of how the whole thing was designed. Worst about it all, was how high the tub itself is- if you are in any way disabled (be it permanently or temporarily injured) or elderly, you are going to despise this tub/shower. I'm a 34-year old fit and active person, and I struggled getting in and out of this thing. It's awkward to start with but then add water and oh sh!t, you're going down for sure! We used the stairs for the bed and put them in the bathroom for this reason but it didn't help much. Other than that, everything else was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the fireplace which was SO cozy! Perfect for the chilly nights we had. They supply firewood and firestarters so it's very easy to make your own. During one of the days, it was warm enough to enjoy the pool too. Breakfast gets delivered in an adorable picnic basket and it's loaded! We expected the norm of simple breakfast options like mini boxes of cereal and muffins. Nope! Hard-boiled eggs, fruit galore, prosciutto, cheese, danishes/pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. It was different every day and delicious every day. Treat yourself and stay here! You'll be glad you did. If you fear the wacky tub/shower, don't choose room 10. That's where we were but all the rooms are unique and others may have a better layout in the bathroom.

We are in town for a weekend away, and the hubby surprised me and made us a reservation for lunch…read more I had never heard of this place, so wasn't sure what to expect. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated us early, and our server was a nice gentleman who was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We started with the green goddess juice, which was refreshing (but a little too sweet for us normally. But we drank it!) We opted for the burrata appetizer and it absolutely mind-blowing and delicious. The quality of the ingredients is superior and the flavors just worked. I ordered the Hometown Fred Burger, and I loved it so much. The meat was thick and juicy, and it had bacon and PEACHES on it! Sounds crazy- but it was one of the best things I've had. The side winder fries sounded weird on the menu- but trust me- get them. Loved them. Hubby ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich, and he said it was excellent. He went with the sweet potato waffle fries, and they were also yummy. Overall- great value for this meal. The ingredients and flavors are upscale and such high quality. Honestly I felt like the prices were competitive based on the quality. I saw several menu items I'd love to try when we come back.

This was a mother/daughter girls trip. We made reservations to Hill Country Herb Garden restaurant…read morefor Sunday which happened to be Father's Day. We were seated immediately, the ambiance was nice, the gardens we walked thru outside were gorgeous. Our first waiter was aloof, he spilled water all over the table, cleaned it up...accidents happen no biggie but he seemed annoyed with us, when he was the one who spilled onto the table and into my friend's lap. Fortunately, most landed on the table. We had scheduled on line and the limit it showed was 8 on the first screen and then we were given a noted area where it asked how many people, we confirmed 9 people, we paid $180 for this reservation. It did charge for 8 (missed that in the email). When we arrived we asked the hostess ( young dark haired girl not friendly) she answered with an attitude and let us know we had booked for eight and NO they would not accommodate. Part of our group was seated. The rest of the group came in and saw that the two ladies on the end were so crowded at the narrow table it was going to make eating difficult. So I went to ask for a manager. The manager (Chris maybe, bearded guy). He was immediately, defensive and attitude-y. I asked him if it was possible for us to get another table moved over. "NO, the girl already told you. Not possible, we are booked ". Mind you I'm looking around and there are two tables in our room with people, us and another one AND Three empty tables. Each room had more empty tables than they did people. He tells me they are ALL booked. I'm like there is nothing. NOPE. I tell him there is no need to speak with that attitude and rudeness and then I go sit down because I'm not trying to ruin our trip. So a new waiter came, some ordered the lavender mimosas, peach Bellini, Bloody Mary, hot tea & champagne. The lavender mimosa got mixed reviews, very sweet. Bloody Mary and green tea were exceptionally good. We asked whether there was a sugar free coffee option, waiter didn't ever come back. We ordered chicken and waffles, salmon eggs Benedict, regular eggs Benedict and tuna ahi salad & a cinnamon roll. Chicken and waffles was cinnamon forwards but not really a Belgian waffle and the waffle was not hot, you got two chicken strips (the crust was flavorful but the chicken was a bit dry). Two of us paid extra for hot honey, it WASN'T hot or even flavorful! Both Eggs Benedict were cooked right but just warm. Tasted good but the classic breakfast fries could have been cooked longer. The tuna ahi salad was very good although the tuna was a small serving. Asked another waiter About the sugarfree coffee, he suggested and then came back with raspberry latte, tried it but it was weird...No one ever asked if it was okay, no one asked about the lavender mimosa even though we ordered another champagne and pushed it aside . The cinnamon roll was delicious but more of a bread pudding. Overall it was not a great experience. The customer service was lacking. I realize we showed up with an extra person( from the managers viewpoint) but they could have accommodated even if they said we'll try but if all the booked clientele show up then we will have to come get the table. Also after spilling the water on the table and some into a customers lap, the manager should have comped her champagne or something as an apology for the ruckus. Two tables in our section were empty the entire time we were there. There were multiple empty tables throughout the restaurant the entire time we were there. I can't recommend this place, very rude management and not at all accommodating, lacking customer service & the food was not up to par

Think about an olden house with modern amenities like fridge, hot tub, TV, microwave, and electric fireplace. Thankfully, I didn't even have to churn my own butter. Just a few miles off the strip we arrived at the barn. One of four options when staying at the farm. Makes no sense to even beat around the bush, the goats, nearby donkeys, and the deer....WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Provided breakfast food from Lupe included casserole style muffins with sausage, eggs, cheese, and hash browns. Next days breakfast was similar with ham, eggs, and cheese muffins. Both served with sour cream, Serrano based red salsa, and fresh fruit from the local HEB. Nothing like strawberries and cantaloupe with a pinch of table salt. Again, old school meets modern. I knew the salsa wasn't made by a German! Finally, we escape from our own personal ranch to get away from our extremely needy cats and child. What do you get as temporary residents of said property? Old Mouser Cats! The herd was 60% I'm not even gonna let me touch followed by a few tidbits of love and screaming into the door you just entered to settle down. PET ME NOW!!! Sweet creatures. Made this weekend perfect! Note the Yelp pics of the diverse movie selections for your viewing pleasure. Young Guns was still in the DVD player followed by the wife's selections of murder mystery...murder mystery...followed by the local forecast. Hot tub was used by the wife; I had to abstain due to a recent surgery. Next time we visit the barn we will be in full force!

The cabin is well appointed with everything you need and super clean. The daily breakfast is so delicious and the owners are open to dietary modifications if you need them. We stayed in The Roost cabin and ate on the back porch each morning. If you get up early you can have your coffee on the front porch while watching the deer. Or watch them while enjoying a glass of wine at dusk. I'm sure we'll be back as the cabins are close enough to Fredericksburg to see the sights but far enough in the country to give you time to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Steve and Glenda (the property owners) were AWESOME. So kind and welcoming from the minute we arrived. When we pulled up to our cabin and got out we were greeted by a friendly bunch of chickens, they actually ran up to greet us. :o) The cabin was picturesque... there was a screened in sitting area on the back porch with comfy rocking chairs and additional chairs and a beautiful covered front porch with rocking chairs and a chiminea. When we walked in the cabin looked just as it did in the pictures online. Beautifully decorated and very clean. A king sized bed in the main area with a small kitchen equipped with; microwave, small refrigerator (freezer had 2 ice trays and fridge had 4 waters), plates, wine glasses and opener, cups, coffee mugs, keurig (coffee, tea bags, creamer and sugar), dish washing soap, etc. The bathroom was the perfect size with a walk in shower (it was very clean). The loft upstairs was perfect, again very clean and super cute. It is a small space but perfect for climbing in for a good nights sleep. There was an oscillating fan in the loft which helped with the air circulation. Very cozy! Both beds were very comfortable. There was a flat screen smart TV in the main area, we were able to watch Netflix or regular television. The AC worked great. In the evening we sat on the front porch and had a fire in the chiminea. Steve and Glenda stopped us on our way in on our first night there and asked how we liked our eggs prepared, they also asked if we had any dietary restrictions. They told us that they would deliver our breakfast to our door the next morning between 8:30am-9am. The next morning they were right on time and did not disappoint. A beautiful display (see picture)... fresh eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, homemade biscuits, homemade apple butter (to die for), fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a WONDERFUL, down to each little detail. The next morning we had another great breakfast... fresh eggs, sausage links, french toast w/ strawberries and bananas, walnuts and more fresh squeezed orange juice. Glenda also made us a sweet treat (individual chocolate lava cakes) that Steve delivered to us on Saturday afternoon. YUM! We had a memorable weekend in Fredericksburg... a wonderful place to stay, a great wine tour (290 Wine Shuttle), good food and laughs. I will come back and stay at this beautiful place again. Thank you Steve and Glenda for providing us the perfect home away from home for the weekend!
