If you're thinking about booking a stay at HH - just do it! Absolutely beautiful property, wonderful service and attention to detail, and minutes from downtown. We called last minute and they were above and beyond with accommodating us in Ada's Cottage. We are considering this as a wedding venue, as well. We loved our stay.

    This is the main building.

Loved it. Great part of town for walking to everything but still quiet. Adorable hotel cat and a delivered breakfast. What's not to love? They had water in the mini fridge and our room has two balconies for sharing a glass of wine (H‑E‑B is just around the corner or bring your own. They have a wine opener). Only complaint is that the room needs USB plugs. Maybe one of those alarm clocks with a USB plug or something else. We'll be back!

Had some mixed feelings about this place. I think I would stay again but, would definitely make sure to pick one of the stand-alone cabins. We stayed in one attached to the great hall, which was fine since it was a week night. I imagine during the weekend it might get kind of loud. We checked in super late and didn't realize that the last 4 digits of your phone number are the key to your door. It wasn't stated in the email (if it was, I guess we missed it but, neither my boyfriend or I saw it). We struggled to get in but, once we called they immediately answered and assisted us in accessing our room. The room was cute and had a modern rustic feel too it. They give you tea and water bottles and provide a small refrigerator and dishes. The soap was also very high quality and smelt great. The breakfast is delivered promptly at 9:00 am. It will wake you up as they knock on the door 2-3 times to let you know it's there. If you like to sleep in, be aware of this. The breakfast itself was decent quality and as expected. It would be nice to have a little bit of sauce options (ketchup, hot sauce, etc.) but, it's just nice they deliver it to your room and is a cute feature of the B&B. The drawbacks were if you get a room by the great hall it only comes with a stand up shower! So if you want that claw foot tub make sure to book a suite/stand alone cabin. The shower in our room had a drainage issue and turned into a mini bath for our feet, which was gross and a big turnoff. Additionally, we were greeted to our room by a dead squirrel. It was just laying there across from the door to our room. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I have a sense of humor and realized it was probably one of the many cats on the property that left us this little gift. We did check in very late at night and the white cat was out causing trouble. Obviously, it's not the fault of Hoffman Haus but, was still kind of a gruesome welcome. On the plus side, the black and white cat was friendly and let us pet him. With that being said, giving 4 stars. I would try a different room upon returning and go based off both experiences.

We had a fantastic stay here on a Monday through Wednesday. We stayed in the Linden, which is a stand-alone cottage. There were three rooms - a living room with a TV, kitchenette, two armchairs, a couch, and a small table with two chairs; a large bedroom with king-size bed, TV, two nightstands, and closet with two suitcase racks (the ones where you can set your suitcase on there so you don't have to bend over); and a very large bathroom with shower and bathtub. There was also a shaded sitting area with two rocking chairs and a table where we ate our breakfast one morning. I loved all the space we had in Linden, especially the fact that there were two sinks with ample counter space in the bathroom, as well as two suitcase racks. The bedroom was large enough that it actually had two separate doors. Not your normal double doors but separate doors on opposite ends of the wall that was shared with the living. room. I amused myself by "apologizing" to my husband whenever I used "his" door (the door that was on the same side of the room as his side of the bed) to enter the bedroom. The lavender shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion all smelled amazing. One thing I didn't love furniture-wise was the chairs at the table were metal, so they made a ton of noise when moving them. I was afraid that I would wake up my husband if I sat at the table in the morning before he got up. There were a couple of delicious toffee candies and robes to use during our visit laid out for us when we entered the bedroom - loved the presentation and those little extras. Our breakfasts were also delicious and still piping hot when we got them at 9am - there was something savory, something sweet, and fruit for both days we had breakfast there. I would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!

Check in was quick and easy, we were in Ada's Haus. The room was big and roomy, clean and quiet. The shower had two large heads. There were plenty of towels, blankets and pillows. Breakfast was delivered each morning and was always a treat.

We absolutely LOVED our stay!! We were upgraded to a suite and breakfast was amazing!! Sitting on the porch listening to the fountain was perfect! Bed was comfortable and cozy! There were just enough dishes for us to use and coffee, with creamer went perfect with our delicious breakfast. It was so quiet and relaxing. Even the toiletries were awesome!! Highly recommended!!

Just got back from a Women's retreat here. It was super wonderful. Loved the feel of the place. We stayed upstairs in the main house but there were many cottages too. I really liked our suite-the Alamo Suite-because we had a nice bedroom and bath plus a front room with a couch and another half bath. It was nice because we had some privacy and each got our own bathroom (shared the master suite shower). The king bed was super comfortable! More comfortable than my new mattress at home. We had a coffee bar/frig etc between the two rooms. I loved their coffee in the morning. So yummy and strong. This bed and breakfast is so beautiful and was totally conducive to our event. I loved the main building where we had our meetings. The stage was really pretty and the room was perfectly tailored for our event. Their food was really good! The best breakfasts ever! And all the other meals were really good too. My sister stayed here a few years ago for a wedding and loved it too. I would definitely come back!

The BEST bed and breakfast. Everything was above and beyond. Great area, close to all the shops, amazing staff. Could not recommend this place more!

Wife and I planned a last second babymoon. We were thrilled to find they had a cabin available. The room was clean and adorable! The soaps were awesome! And the breakfast provided the next day was absolutely delicious. Some of the best French toast I've had. We would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful place to stay at. We had a one day stay over. Room was clean and cozy. Great customer service. The breakfast basket was such a treat and delivered at 9am like clockwork. Hope to come back and stay In their Victorian 2 floor house on the property. Despite covid restrictions this place would be a real gem for a celebration of any sort!

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. There are lots of options around Texas for romantic spots so that doesn't sound too hard, right? Well, it wouldn't be if you weren't dealing with a hormonal, PMSing girl with mad food cravings because she's trying to be good and eat low carb to squeeze into the size-too-small bridesmaid dress that she ordered. Too much info? I digress. We hit the wine road towards Fredericksburg and after seven wineries, 42 tastings, and six bottles later, he brought me to the most adorable place I've ever stayed at: Carriage House. In case you're wondering, it was just as adorable the next day when I was more sober (my photos don't do the place justice). The outside of the main house was pretty, but no, we weren't staying in the main house- he did better than that. Off to the side of the main house was a little cottage standing by itself. "EEEEE, we're staying in there?!" my tipsy self gushed. The girly squeals only intensified after I saw the interior of the cottage. Hubs had outdone himself. A few tips for first timers: Dogs under 30lbs are allowed to stay for an extra $10/night. You have your very own private parking spot that is literally right next to the cottage. Once parked, you will find a little gate about a yard in front of your car; the gate leads right to the front of the cottage. In addition to the usuals that are provided at a hotel, the cottage is also supplied with dishes, silverware, and wine openers. Just check the drawers around the kitchen sink. Towels and extra toiletries are located under the bathroom sinks, and there is a step stool located underneath the (very high) bed. If you're short, use it. If you've been drinking wine all day, use it. When in doubt, use it. You're not actually served breakfast in bed here. Instead, you're given $10 vouchers (one for each guest) that can be used at several popular brunch spots in Fredericksburg. If Carriage House had a cheesy slogan, I would imagine it to be something along the lines of, "Carriage House: Drink Wine and Fall in Love." So friends, drink wine, fall in love, and check this place out. But don't try to book on my birthday weekend. Because it'll be mine.

Thankfully, we found out that it's not quite as expensive as it looks, and we could afford to stay there, so we did! The room was wonderful and very comfortable. I love the stone wall! Only qualm I had was in regard to the shower/tub. The jacuzzi tub itself was amazing, but they put a "rainshower" head above it for showers. First of all, it was a regular showerhead pointed straight down, not a rainshower like those positioned that way should be. A sign asks you to utilize the shower curtain properly so there is no water damage... which is impossible even when using the curtain. It's just a very odd setup. There will be water damage just of how the whole thing was designed. Worst about it all, was how high the tub itself is- if you are in any way disabled (be it permanently or temporarily injured) or elderly, you are going to despise this tub/shower. I'm a 34-year old fit and active person, and I struggled getting in and out of this thing. It's awkward to start with but then add water and oh sh!t, you're going down for sure! We used the stairs for the bed and put them in the bathroom for this reason but it didn't help much. Other than that, everything else was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the fireplace which was SO cozy! Perfect for the chilly nights we had. They supply firewood and firestarters so it's very easy to make your own. During one of the days, it was warm enough to enjoy the pool too. Breakfast gets delivered in an adorable picnic basket and it's loaded! We expected the norm of simple breakfast options like mini boxes of cereal and muffins. Nope! Hard-boiled eggs, fruit galore, prosciutto, cheese, danishes/pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. It was different every day and delicious every day. Treat yourself and stay here! You'll be glad you did. If you fear the wacky tub/shower, don't choose room 10. That's where we were but all the rooms are unique and others may have a better layout in the bathroom.

We were greeted by a lovely hostess who seated us early, and our server was a nice gentleman who was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We started with the green goddess juice, which was refreshing (but a little too sweet for us normally. But we drank it!) We opted for the burrata appetizer and it absolutely mind-blowing and delicious. The quality of the ingredients is superior and the flavors just worked. I ordered the Hometown Fred Burger, and I loved it so much. The meat was thick and juicy, and it had bacon and PEACHES on it! Sounds crazy- but it was one of the best things I've had. The side winder fries sounded weird on the menu- but trust me- get them. Loved them. Hubby ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich, and he said it was excellent. He went with the sweet potato waffle fries, and they were also yummy. Overall- great value for this meal. The ingredients and flavors are upscale and such high quality. Honestly I felt like the prices were competitive based on the quality. I saw several menu items I'd love to try when we come back.

We were seated immediately, the ambiance was nice, the gardens we walked thru outside were gorgeous. Our first waiter was aloof, he spilled water all over the table, cleaned it up...accidents happen no biggie but he seemed annoyed with us, when he was the one who spilled onto the table and into my friend's lap. Fortunately, most landed on the table. We had scheduled on line and the limit it showed was 8 on the first screen and then we were given a noted area where it asked how many people, we confirmed 9 people, we paid $180 for this reservation. It did charge for 8 (missed that in the email). When we arrived we asked the hostess ( young dark haired girl not friendly) she answered with an attitude and let us know we had booked for eight and NO they would not accommodate. Part of our group was seated. The rest of the group came in and saw that the two ladies on the end were so crowded at the narrow table it was going to make eating difficult. So I went to ask for a manager. The manager (Chris maybe, bearded guy). He was immediately, defensive and attitude-y. I asked him if it was possible for us to get another table moved over. "NO, the girl already told you. Not possible, we are booked ". Mind you I'm looking around and there are two tables in our room with people, us and another one AND Three empty tables. Each room had more empty tables than they did people. He tells me they are ALL booked. I'm like there is nothing. NOPE. I tell him there is no need to speak with that attitude and rudeness and then I go sit down because I'm not trying to ruin our trip. So a new waiter came, some ordered the lavender mimosas, peach Bellini, Bloody Mary, hot tea & champagne. The lavender mimosa got mixed reviews, very sweet. Bloody Mary and green tea were exceptionally good. We asked whether there was a sugar free coffee option, waiter didn't ever come back. We ordered chicken and waffles, salmon eggs Benedict, regular eggs Benedict and tuna ahi salad & a cinnamon roll. Chicken and waffles was cinnamon forwards but not really a Belgian waffle and the waffle was not hot, you got two chicken strips (the crust was flavorful but the chicken was a bit dry). Two of us paid extra for hot honey, it WASN'T hot or even flavorful! Both Eggs Benedict were cooked right but just warm. Tasted good but the classic breakfast fries could have been cooked longer. The tuna ahi salad was very good although the tuna was a small serving. Asked another waiter About the sugarfree coffee, he suggested and then came back with raspberry latte, tried it but it was weird...No one ever asked if it was okay, no one asked about the lavender mimosa even though we ordered another champagne and pushed it aside . The cinnamon roll was delicious but more of a bread pudding. Overall it was not a great experience. The customer service was lacking. I realize we showed up with an extra person( from the managers viewpoint) but they could have accommodated even if they said we'll try but if all the booked clientele show up then we will have to come get the table. Also after spilling the water on the table and some into a customers lap, the manager should have comped her champagne or something as an apology for the ruckus. Two tables in our section were empty the entire time we were there. There were multiple empty tables throughout the restaurant the entire time we were there. I can't recommend this place, very rude management and not at all accommodating, lacking customer service & the food was not up to par

Think about an olden house with modern amenities like fridge, hot tub, TV, microwave, and electric fireplace. Thankfully, I didn't even have to churn my own butter. Just a few miles off the strip we arrived at the barn. One of four options when staying at the farm. Makes no sense to even beat around the bush, the goats, nearby donkeys, and the deer....WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Provided breakfast food from Lupe included casserole style muffins with sausage, eggs, cheese, and hash browns. Next days breakfast was similar with ham, eggs, and cheese muffins. Both served with sour cream, Serrano based red salsa, and fresh fruit from the local HEB. Nothing like strawberries and cantaloupe with a pinch of table salt. Again, old school meets modern. I knew the salsa wasn't made by a German! Finally, we escape from our own personal ranch to get away from our extremely needy cats and child. What do you get as temporary residents of said property? Old Mouser Cats! The herd was 60% I'm not even gonna let me touch followed by a few tidbits of love and screaming into the door you just entered to settle down. PET ME NOW!!! Sweet creatures. Made this weekend perfect! Note the Yelp pics of the diverse movie selections for your viewing pleasure. Young Guns was still in the DVD player followed by the wife's selections of murder mystery...murder mystery...followed by the local forecast. Hot tub was used by the wife; I had to abstain due to a recent surgery. Next time we visit the barn we will be in full force!

The cabin is well appointed with everything you need and super clean. The daily breakfast is so delicious and the owners are open to dietary modifications if you need them. We stayed in The Roost cabin and ate on the back porch each morning. If you get up early you can have your coffee on the front porch while watching the deer. Or watch them while enjoying a glass of wine at dusk. I'm sure we'll be back as the cabins are close enough to Fredericksburg to see the sights but far enough in the country to give you time to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet.

What a JOY to stay at this beautiful cabin. Steve and Glenda (the property owners) were AWESOME. So kind and welcoming from the minute we arrived. When we pulled up to our cabin and got out we were greeted by a friendly bunch of chickens, they actually ran up to greet us. :o) The cabin was picturesque... there was a screened in sitting area on the back porch with comfy rocking chairs and additional chairs and a beautiful covered front porch with rocking chairs and a chiminea. When we walked in the cabin looked just as it did in the pictures online. Beautifully decorated and very clean. A king sized bed in the main area with a small kitchen equipped with; microwave, small refrigerator (freezer had 2 ice trays and fridge had 4 waters), plates, wine glasses and opener, cups, coffee mugs, keurig (coffee, tea bags, creamer and sugar), dish washing soap, etc. The bathroom was the perfect size with a walk in shower (it was very clean). The loft upstairs was perfect, again very clean and super cute. It is a small space but perfect for climbing in for a good nights sleep. There was an oscillating fan in the loft which helped with the air circulation. Very cozy! Both beds were very comfortable. There was a flat screen smart TV in the main area, we were able to watch Netflix or regular television. The AC worked great. In the evening we sat on the front porch and had a fire in the chiminea. Steve and Glenda stopped us on our way in on our first night there and asked how we liked our eggs prepared, they also asked if we had any dietary restrictions. They told us that they would deliver our breakfast to our door the next morning between 8:30am-9am. The next morning they were right on time and did not disappoint. A beautiful display (see picture)... fresh eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, homemade biscuits, homemade apple butter (to die for), fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a WONDERFUL, down to each little detail. The next morning we had another great breakfast... fresh eggs, sausage links, french toast w/ strawberries and bananas, walnuts and more fresh squeezed orange juice. Glenda also made us a sweet treat (individual chocolate lava cakes) that Steve delivered to us on Saturday afternoon. YUM! We had a memorable weekend in Fredericksburg... a wonderful place to stay, a great wine tour (290 Wine Shuttle), good food and laughs. I will come back and stay at this beautiful place again. Thank you Steve and Glenda for providing us the perfect home away from home for the weekend!

I don't know about you, but I'd rather not stay in a hotel room all weekend since that doesn't feel better than staying home. That's what led us to The Gathering. We came upon their listing via a post on Instagram about interesting places to stay around Austin, or within a short drive. I fell in love with the decor and the privacy! The Gathering is a collection of cottages or houses that each have their own style and although the houses are close to each other, they share no common walls, and each has a private outdoor area, and hot tub, in addition to delightful homey touches. There is a kitchenette for meals, but no stove or oven, but we found November the perfect time to make sausage dogs over the fire pit. We toasted s'mores and sipped champagne, spent time relaxing in the hot tub, and even rinsed off in the outdoor shower. By the time our stay was up, we were both wishing we had booked more nights! We stayed at the Hideaway house, which is the farthest property from the street and really enjoyed how alone we felt despite the adjacent houses also having guests. We enjoyed a game of basketball on the court across from our cottage and gathered pecans from the huge trees for a mid day snack. Deer were seen scampering across the back meadow and the gentle baas from the sheep nearby added to the bucolic scene. The only negative for me was that I found the mattress to be a bit firm for my tastes, but since that is purely a personal preference, I would not deduct stars for it. We will definitely book another stay, soon! Thanks for the Texas hospitality!

Check in was easy, we had no problems getting in. Property managers are communicative if you need anything but also give you complete privacy if you wish. There is free uncovered parking, park on the quiet street out front and there's a small, short path that leads you to all the different properties. The area is off the main streets of town to afford you comfort and quiet, but also close enough to get to everything easily via a short car or bike ride. I appreciated all the little modern, homey details of this place. A couple things of note: Wifi is very spotty so don't count on that if you need it for anything. It wasn't a big deal to us because we were there to relax and disconnect anyway. Not sure if it had anything to do with the Hideaway being the last property farthest from the entrance. If you want to use the fire pit, bring your own fire wood. Though there is a starter log provided and a gas fireplace available. Lots of shampoo and body wash provided but bring your own conditioner if you wish - only a hotel size tube available in the bathroom. Walgreens and HEB/Walmart are very close by if you need anything! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
