    Chinquapin - #14
    Brooke P.

Terri greeted us when we arrived for a weekend visit recently; there was a slight snafu with our reservation but she quickly found a resolution. We stayed in Chinquapin the first night, and the cozy stone walls and super comfy bed made for a great evening. We moved to Winterberry the second night, it was a little more spacious with a much larger bathroom - can't wait to return in warmer weather to try the outdoor shower! We spent time by the firepit one evening and visited with other guests while enjoying wine and a cigar (him not me!). They have poker chips in your room you can redeem for a margarita at Los Tios, a nearby walk and a welcome change after all the wine! Don't miss out on the biscuits one morning - tasty and butter, jam and honey on the side, as well as fresh OJ. We will return on our next visit to the area to enjoy this hidden gem with easy, walkable access to the heart of downtown Fredericksburg.

What an adorable hotel to find smack dab in the middle of town. We stayed at Trueheart for two nights last weekend and had a great experience. We were in the Winterberry room in a standalone casita and it was super cozy. Big bedroom with high ceilings and a huge bathroom with a wonderful tub. Service is pretty hands off and they only come to the room upon request which I really enjoyed as I am a big user of a do not disturb door hanger. The location truly could not be better. We were walking distance from basically everything we wanted to do except for the vineyards which were an easy 10-20 minute drive from town center. Would highly recommend to anyone heading to Fredericksburg.

Our Go-To Fredericksburg Getaway We've stayed at The TrueHeart multiple times, and it's hands-down one of our favorite places to escape to in Fredericksburg. The property is incredibly quaint and serene -- you'd never guess it's just one block off Main Street. It truly feels like a peaceful retreat. The staff is always so attentive and welcoming, and the décor throughout the hotel is absolutely top-notch -- stylish, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. One of our favorite parts of every stay is the homemade biscuit basket delivered in the morning -- it's to die for and such a sweet way to start the day. The beds are also unbelievably comfortable -- we melt right into the mattresses and sleep like a dream every time. We love spending time at the outdoor fire pit and relaxing on the front porch of Room #1, which offers the perfect view for a Hill Country sunset. The TrueHeart has become a special place for us, and we'll continue to return again and again. Highly recommend!

We had so much fun staying here for the weekend. The room was so cozy and tidy!! The bed was so comfortable and I got some of the best sleep of my life. Our room had an indoor and outdoor shower, along with a large bath tub. On Sunday morning before check out, we had a biscuit basket delivered to our room and they were so delicious and filling! It felt like they didn't miss a thing on the property. I can't finish this review without mentioning how incredibly helpful the staff was. Anything that we needed help with was truly cared about. We cannot wait for our next stay at Trueheart!!!!

Stayed here last weekend. Booked this place for our Fredericksburg trip based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Charming little hotel with excellent staff and awesome location. Recommend getting the hot biscuits and fresh squeezed orange juice delivered one morning during your stay, it's a wonderful treat.

My husband and I just relocated from Los Angeles to Austin and were looking for a unique stay in Fredericksburg as one of our first weekend getaways. Joe and Cody could not have been more hospitable- we arrived a bit early and Joe recommended a nice lunch at Vaudeville across the way while he ensured the room is ready - he would text us. Lo and behold, our room was ready within the hour and what a fabulous room it was. We chose the Prairie Willow and it was utterly Amazing. Here are a few highlights why you should stay at this bed and breakfast: -Centrally located to Main Street -Plenty of parking (and safe) -luxurious accommodations including the linens, amenities and grounds -delicious breakfast -WiFi, TV and AC spot on better than most hotels -friendly and hospitable innkeepers We had such a memorable stay, we cannot wait to return! Thank you.

I'd give the "bed" part a 5, but the "breakfast" part a 1. Location is great, owners are super friendly and the place is charming. Enjoyed sitting at the outside fireplace, joined by the outside cat. Room was very nice. But, we were sooo disappointed to get to breakfast only to find standard hotel continental fare. At this price point, really hard to understand. Should be an easy fix, if owners want to make this a true 5 star B&B.

The service has been impressive and the Atmosphere is phenomenal. We stayed at the "Hawthorn suite" at Sugarberry inn. The design was perfect for us and I doubt that there is a place in town that can compare to the attention to detail. Macy, our attendant was so very helpful, courteous and sweet. We arrived knowing exactly where to go and what to do thanks to this top notch service:) My wife loves it and we are looking forward to the rest of our trip! Off to a great start! two thumbs way up!

The 2 Queen bed suite we booked had plenty of room with lots of seating areas for my family of 4 to spread out in. I wouldn't be surprised if a family of 6+ felt comfortable in this room as well. The pool area was very large and also had a ton of seating. My kids loved the pool area for its water slides and "waterfalls" around the small lazy river. As a mom, I loved that there were a couple toddler play areas of the pool for the kids to barely submerge and still play with the water. The complimentary breakfast had everything we needed with a picky eater in the family. On our next trip to Fredericksburg, we will definitely be back to this Hotel.

This hotel was worse than the last. When we got there, we checked in our room and there were poop stains in the toilet. There was also no cord for the phone so we couldn't even call the front desk. That made me think that the rest of the room was not cleaned. I called the front desk. They were not apologetic at all. They said that the cleaners were gone for the day and they would have to come in and clean it. I asked for another room so they gave us another room on the third floor. We went up to the room. Our key did not work so now we're standing outside with our luggage looking like we're lost. I called back to the front desk. She acts confused when I tell her that the key doesn't work. She comes to the room and opens the door with her master key and there is another family in the room already so now we're really looking lost, so all of us go back to our original room and she goes to get some supplies to clean the toilet. Determined to not have a bad trip we left to go visit the wineries while she cleaned the toilet. When we got back later on that night, the poop stains were gone, but the ring around the toilet was still there. I will not ever stay at this hotel again and I recommend everybody don't waste your money go somewhere else and have a great time. This hotel is not worth it.

The shower has a higher head and we liked the new laminate floors. We liked the two lounge chairs, chair and desk along with the microwave and mini fridge. Pretty much the previous review still stands, but I added a few more recent photos and comments So why still the 3 stars? The walls and ceilings are quite thin where you can hear someone tromping around upstairs and snoring in the room next to you as well as upstairs. People are allowed to bring their pets to the rooms which means you can listen to them bark in the room next to you. My morning shower was set to hot, but it was barely warm. We pulled back the sheets and the mattress pad where there was a small blood stain, hairs, and an oily stain near the center of the mattress. No room safe. Breakfast here is pretty much on par with the average Best Western except that the buffet room is very cramped and indoor dining is tight. The outdoor dining area is actually quite nice weather permitting. I personally would like to see either the breakfast eliminated and we pay less for the room or for it to be an exceptional breakfast and charge a little more. By being at the level of mediocrity it just inspires you to go somewhere else. Even the coffee was weak and watery. With all of that said, our 2 day stay was less than $480. For a comfortable relatively clean room with no musty smell, it seems worth it. If you want to enjoy your time here, stay on the second floor and have breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants. 31/2* for the money for an acceptable visit.

Upon opening the door, I fell in love! This beautiful room was decorated with antique furniture and just felt cozy! The bed was so comfortable that I got the best nights sleep I've had in over 10 days! The shower was huge and the best water pressure! There is body soap, shampoo and conditioner provided that is made locally at their herb farm. I wanted to purchase from the office, but we were running short of time, so I'll be ordering online! There are robes for your use, that were soft and comfortable! I want one of those too! There is a keurig, microwave and a small refrigerator with a freezer.
