We stopped in around 3 p.m. on a Saturday to a nearly empty restaurant--only four other customers--while the restaurant next door had a waiting line. After this experience, I understand why. Our entrées arrived, but my salad never did. When I asked about it, the server said she thought I wanted it with my meal. I told her I no longer wanted it. She returned with who I assume was the manager, and instead of simply acknowledging the mistake, they stood at our table demanding I pay for the salad whether I received it or not because it was "already being prepared." I was even told that if I refused, the server would have to pay for it herself. They continued standing there staring at me, making an uncomfortable situation even worse, then offered to make me a "fresh" salad to take home. Fresh? Was the one supposedly being prepared 10 minutes earlier already old? The food was average at best, but the customer service was remarkably poor. With staff standing around in a nearly empty restaurant, this was completely unnecessary. I won't return. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Thai Basil in Villa Rica instead--the food and service are exceptional and 100% worth the trip. Left a 20% tip anyway is it will be the last cent the restaurant ever gets from me. read more

Fun spot on a Friday night! A local friend took me for dinner on a busy night and the atmosphere and service were great. We shared the edamame, spicy sauce on the side for her to enjoy, and it was a little overcooked and flavorless without it so a pass for me. I enjoyed my Volcano roll with the CA roll base plus avocado, and the yummy eel sauce. Combined with my Dragon roll and her tuna, we had plenty of leftovers! Nice meal. read more

Crab dish is $26 with a very small portion of crab over fried rice. Must not sell very well because it made my son in law sick. He thought it smelled ripe but trusted the restaurant kitchen. What a joke. Called to speak with Manager and she referred me to the owner. Of course, he never called back. I was dining there with my family 3-4 times a month and spending $400-500/month. My husband and I have visited this establishment twice. We highly recommend the sushi (we love the dragon roll) and I like the poke bowls (rainbow poke bowl for me). Drinks are very tasty (mojitos are very tasty). The service has been great each time we have gone. I do have to say this past visit the customer service went ABOVE AND BEYOND! Having a Thai restaurant in Carrollton has been long overdue--and a great Thai restaurant, for that matter, seemed almost impossible until Bangkok 202. I can recall the restaurant's remodeling stage and was beyond impressed with the selection of quality seating and upscale yet electric design. During the beginning of 202's opening, service was definitely on the slower end; however, wait times for food have significantly improved. The waiters are high-energy and helpful, and the kitchen staff are experienced in authentic Thai cuisine with a menu balanced by proper proportion of Carrollton flair. The bar is heavily equipped with classics, fun cocktails, and imported alcohol. Despite its steeper prices, serving portions are ample, and the food is phenomenal! Dishes range vastly from sushi to curries to unique seafood entrees, all dressed with exciting presentations. Since I am a raw fish fanatic, I must note their extensive collection of nigiri and sashimi options. I have dined here on multiple occasions and find that the beef teriyaki, deep-fried rolls, ginger salad, egg rolls, wontons, and pork belly are fan favorites. Love, love, love this place! It was very hot in the inside. The host set us next to window and had to ask to be moved to some where cooler. After waiting 5 minutes someone came to our to table and we were finally served. Server was nice and knew about the menu and gave us many delicious choices. The sushi was good. Rainbow roll was banging with the fried shrimp. The noodles were decent not spectacular. We came in to try somewhere new. And we left doubting that the restaurant truly knows its own identity. Decided to try the Tomatsu Ramen, and the other members of my party both had fried rice. The broth was just okay. The pork belly was good. But, overall the ramen itself was lackluster at best. One of us had fried rice with crab, the other with beef. Apparently, when we brought up the fact, the beef was dry, gray, and flavorless, the beef is steamed and not cooked in the pan with the rice. The crab tasted old and spoiled. Our server was very non chalant about the poor food and acted like it did not matter. We did not bother asking for a manager. Please make sure you think twice before coming for mediocre food. I like to check out new-to-me places at lunch because of lunch menus -- not here; expect to pay for and get large dinner-sized portions. Cocktail selection was great and was very happy with my drink. Tried a panko fried sushi roll and it was also great. After that, the meal took a nosedive. The nam tok was inedible; the meat was grey and it smelled terrible (we were told it was the rice vinegar they use?). Tried a bite despite its unappetizing smell and looks and were met with off tasting, tough beef; we sent it back (and if it matters to you, was not offered a discount). We ordered something else to replace that meal. Also tried some curry and pad Thai. Both were subpar, lacking in depth of flavor, but at least edible. Service was ok, though food for table did not come out at same time (why? I hate this!). Lunch was over $80 with tip. I might try this restaurant again but stick to cocktails and apps. read more

Service was excellent. Wait staff was personable, friendly, and informative. Food was very tasty but a little americanized. I've tried 7 different dishes, and all have been excellent. Be sure to tell your server how spicy (hot) you want your food; heat scale runs 1-5, 4 is "Thai Hot". My last trip to Bangkok I ordered Drunken Noodles with shrimp, heat level 3. It was just right for my taste, causing just a mild sweat on my forehead. If you've not tried 202 Bangkok, it's well worth the adventure. Mine came out 10'minutes later. My wife ordered Lobster. It didn't come out until 45!minutes later and the Mgr came out and apologized. She asked if she could do anything. I said " Yes, comp her Lobster." Well she didn't. She lied and said she would. They don't cook as per table. They cook items as they come in to the kitchen. NO MORE! The place is very un organized. We walked in on 8/16/20204 for an anniversary dinner at 7.15 pm and were seated outside and told by the hostess that she would bring us a menu. No one showed up for 15 min, so I walked up and asked for a drink and food menu and a server to come to our table. Finally the hostess came out and asked if we had been served? She assured us someone would be by and took our drink orders. Come 7.38 pm, no one showed up. In the mean time, 2 parties were served after us. Told a server in the vicinity if they could find who could help us and she said she would let our server know. The hostess never came with our drinks and we decided to walk out @ 7.48 pm after being completely ignored for an over half hour after repeated attempts for service. We let the manager know who just stared at us and said sorry but did not offer any explanation or solutions. What an unpleasant experience for an anniversary. Two of us visited 2023 Bangkok in Carrollton, GA for the first time on a Tuesday evening, 2.13.2024. When we arrived at 5:20 there was only one customer in the place and in spite of that the hostess gave us the worst seat in the house, right next to where two doors enter and exit their space. We asked to move and she said no. I eventually asked another staff person and he kindly moved us to a spot away from the doors. On the only plus side, our server was attentive and he gave us good service. WE were served in good time and the food was good and hot. However, the food was not great. Miso broth for the ramen dish was so salty it was inedible. Street food with pork and chicken drumsticks and sticky rice was Ok, but not exciting. The restaurant was extremely cold and the canned music from the speakers was so loud we could barely hear ourselves or the server. We ate as fast as possible and hurried out which was very disappointing as we had hoped for a peaceful, relaxed night out together. We were excited initially to hear about a Thai restaurant near us but sadly we won't be back. read more
