Let's say I enjoyed my time here today. It is a large place with lots of seating. It looks great and even has clean and nice smelling restrooms. The food was great, not exactly what I expected, but maybe better than I expected. I ordered the True Southwestern Omelet. It comes with taters, aka home fries. They were cooked very nice, with just the right amount of salt. The omelet flavor was great as well, and it tasted fresher than I expected. None the less it was delicious. Finally, the orange juice is freshly squeezed and very good! The hostest was sweet and friendly showing us to our booth. Then came our server Sophie. We've been here several times...occasionally can be hit and miss. If you sit at the bar, the bartenders are always very friendly and you can order from the menu there. The place is very spacious, but not too noisy. Their brunches are absolutely fabulous. my husband gets the steak and eggs almost every single time. This last visit I had the banana pancakes, which I would give a three out of five rating as the bananas between the pancakes were a bit brown. The fluffiness is fabulous. The maple syrup is fabulous. I just wish that there were more caramelized bananas in the situation. I've also have had the Benedict here and it was on point and one of the skillets with sweet potatoes were also fabulous. The food is fine. However there are few wasteful things. When I need refill the water and the waiter brought extra glass of water and straw. I already have the straw in the first glass of water. Why would you bring extra glass of water and straw? It's a money waster and more landfills. Why cannot you simply use pitcher to pour the water to refill? Second Mothers day luncheon for my better half with her son and his wife. Never heard of this place prior to our visit; living west of Austin we don't exactly keep up with Georgetown doings. But, 2020 MSK (abbreviated) did a nice job overall. Service was attentive as we caught up with the newly married couple. No appetizers for this visit but the usual trendy dishes were available. I liked that both the main menu and the brunch menu was available instead of only having a half page of choices. I'm normally a fatty ribeye kind of guy but went for the tender Filet Oscar. A carefully subdued chipotle hollandaise paired with the lump crab won me over. Taters and asparagus deserved equal and accommodating praise. Temp on the meat was close to perfect. She had the Pecan Chicken salad but I'm moving onto more important matters as it's brunch. Bring on your finest biscuit and gravy! Yeah, when your the country bumpkin foodie it's hard not to revert to my 2008 Yelp roots. You're saying it's just a damn biscuit! Yet, each one is different. Gravy I would expertly say about the same. Butter? No butter? Chicken stock? Beef stock? Milk or heavy cream? I did this one in two parts as it's served separate with butter and house made jam. We went for happy hour and our book club gathering. We ordered the Fire Roasted Brussels Sprouts to share and they were not my favorite. They usually are but we got mostly the outer leaves and were a little to charred and that is because we got mostly the leaves. I won't mark them down for this as I know they are good. They just need to be sure not to give the guests only the charred leaves. I then had the Texan Pecan Salad and that was very good and plentiful of it that someone ate the rest of my salad as it was too much for me. I had the 2020 Classic Margarita and it was very good and would have it again. What I liked the most is that we stayed longer due to discussing our book and they were fine with it. There were no stares or coming by making us feel we had stayed too long. We were served by Gracie S. Even one of the managers complemented us that we were there for a book club and he was hoping to start one at the restaurant. Needed a place central to Georgetown for dinner with my mom, who needs some healthier options and choices. 2020 has updated their menu since they first opened, slimming it down a bit but maintaining good variety. She opted for the seafood enchiladas with vegetables, I opted for the dry rub ribs. We started with the spinach artichoke dip. Everything had great flavor and was cooked exactly right, but the dry rub ribs came slathered in BBQ sauce, which I don't understand. Why not serve the sauce on the side when the ribs are expressly listed as Memphis dry rub? Great service, and that was the only quirk. Delicious burger -- so juicy that it dripped all over my plate (a plus in my book). I had the mushroom burger and really enjoyed it. Super friendly service (our waitress was great) and very pleasant atmosphere. Both baby and toddler behaved here so that's a good sign! Parking was a little confusing at first since all nearby spots are limited to 30 minutes. There's comp valet but we didn't want to valet with two little kids since it's a whole ordeal to get them in/out. They have a great menu and have both options for lunch and dinner. There were 6 of us dining together and one person ordered the Ponzu Ribs-he said they were very good. Three of my cousins ordered Chicken Parmesan and all three continuously commented on how much they were enjoying their meals. My husband ordered a Shrimp Porto Fino, which he said was outstanding. I ordered Stuffed Trout and enjoyed every aspect of the dish. The trout was fresh, firm and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a compliment to the flavors of the fish, as well as the rest of my plate. Parking sucks. Let's be up front about the limited, ill-planned parking. Still worth the visit, but allow extra time for parking. Vibe inside is immediately modern and cool. Great looking and well stocked bar. Dog friendly patio. Family friendly place. We had a burger, salad, my wife's vegetarian option (which she loved but I forgot what it was), and the kids' meals (which they loved but I forgot as well). Sweet potato fries were yumtastic. Service was a bit slow at times. My drink ran dry and my wife's beer took a while to arrive, particularly considering they weren't crowded. Friendly service, great food and vibes make it 4 stars for me. But service could be more attentive. And parking sucked. If you've read this far, the locals reassured us that the nearby "45-minute" parking was actually good for much longer, so an hour-and-a-half meal while parked in "45-minute parking" was kosher. 2020 Scratch as advertised is a truly wonderful farm-to-table restaurant. We stopped by for brunch on Saturday and left totally satisfied. I ordered the Backyard Garden Omelette. It arrived loaded with vegetables, including portobello mushrooms, zucchini, squash, and spinach. The side of the hatch chile queso topped with queso fresco was on point, unlike any queso you would get in your neighborhood TexMex joint. My other side was the cheddar jack grits. I could have eaten a bucket of these grits. They have a slight spice, but I added some heat, which took them over the top. I dreamed of having these grits with shrimp for dinner! Plus one ordered the Southwestern Omelette. This omelet features ham, hickory bacon, hatch chile queso, and their wonderful pico de gallo, queso fresco. Her side of the taters were chunks of roasted potatoes and not your typical tiny tater cubes. How about $6 Tito Bloody Mary for an extra buck, you can access their bloody bar. I fully expected a short pour at six bucks, oh contraire this was a solid pour. There is a full bar with some decent draft brews on tap and a good-sized patio area. Lastly, the service was on point. The spuds were good, just way too much cheese and not enough potatoes for all the dip. The bread pudding was a huge disappointment. Just donuts mashed together, very little pudding as binder so it just fell apart into chunks. Bread pudding should be more custard like. The Oreo cheesecake was really good. It's been a while since we've been here, and came after the Georgetown lighting festival. We had a large group of almost 10 and two toddlers. It was the perfect setting for a large group! We unanimously agreed that it was the best bite on the table. Get this! $16 I had the "fiery fowl" spicy chicken sandwich. It was tasty, but not some thing I would order again. It essentially tasted like a buffalo chicken sandwich without the blue cheese. The chicken patty was thin for a $16 chicken sandwich. (See cross section photo) The Big Tex "burger" was chicken fried steak, 2 slices of bacon, an egg and pepper gravy. It was a good concept but the meat was on the chewier side and a smaller portion for a sandwich of that girth. $17 The stuffed trout was excellent. Great presentation, very tasty and fresh. It had mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with it. I would recommend this dish. $29 The key lime pie must have been great because I looked up and it was gone. (The fam offered me a bite but I said maybe later...) it was steep at $12 for a slice but enjoyed. Overall I'd give the food 3.75 stars because the fish, market spuds and sweet potato fries were great. Amazing! I ordered the shrimp and grits and when alongside a espresso martini ! When i say the presentation was great ITS WAS. The shrimp was blackened and the grits had an Orange Marsala type of sauce around it that was full of flavor. I ordered at the bar but the service was great very helpful and attentive.
