I went here with a large group (10) on Sunday last weekend. We went during Happy Hour (3-6p daily) when their margaritas/beer/wine and appetizers were all $2 off. This is a very scenic and modern upscale restaurant near the heart of downtown Georgetown. The interior is nicely appointed and understatedly elegant. The inside and outside restaurant and bar areas are expansive but easily outstrip the provided parking. There is also street parking nearby, but don't be surprised if you wind up walking from nearby public lots or garages. I can easily see this place being packed. We had a reservation and were promptly seated and offered water service. As with most Mexican restaurants, there's an expansive menu, so we ordered drinks while we perused the menu. I found the Encantada margarita to be quite tasty, but it was a bit expensive. At $11 for a single serving with house liquors, closer to what we've come to expect locally for a Mexican martini (theirs was $18 with house, $24 with call). That's a bit over-the-top IMHO. We were offered complimentary chips and salsa; I remember the chips to be excellent, and the red salsa just right for my taste, but others remarked that it was too spicy. Our waitress (Paulina) joked that the only thing less spicy was their ketchup. They also have a green salsa, which is even spicier, but that we all skipped. The food menu has a lot of chef-inspired offerings. I tried the Grilled Chicken Tacos (Grilled Chicken, Cilantro, Onion, Fresco Cheese) at $16. I had one on flour and one on corn to taste the difference in tortillas with the same ingredients, along with a side bowl of black beans. I found them flavorful but also on the small side for the price. Additional tacos are $5 each. No rice was offered. This was one of their least expensive plates. We had a great time and our drink and food service was nothing less than excellent, but I couldn't help but come away feeling that, for a check that tabbed in just under $100 (with tip) we should have had a fuller tummy. Would we come back? Maybe. We'll have to explore their other options and perhaps graze more off the appetizer menu; however, less than $5 separate most of their appetizers from their plate dinners. This is a place to go for a culinary and visual experience, not an everyday meal. read more

I went to this restaurant a bit skeptical because I had heard it was just okay. I noticed they had changed their name and thought they might have made some improvements, so I decided to give it a try with my family. We went on a Friday and had about a 45-minute wait, which wasn't an issue. I would recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go on the weekend. Once we were checked in, our experience was great. I sincerely wish I remembered our server's name--it was something like Jeane or George--but he was excellent. Truly some of the best service I've experienced. He went above and beyond, recommended popular dishes, and even guaranteed that if we didn't like them, he would take care of it. To my surprise, he was absolutely right. All the appetizers and entrées were great. I ordered a burger, which isn't what you'd typically expect at a Mexican restaurant, but it ended up being one of the best burgers I've had in the area. My wife had the fajitas, and we also shared queso with chips and a sampler of chips and dips--everything was excellent. Wonderful spot for upscale Mexican food. The bar is top notch, with several craft cocktails, and also doing great job on custom orders. We had shrimp tacos and the pork belly toast, started with the Dip Trio. Everything is fresh made, lots of flavor. The jam on the pork belly toast was great, the cinnamon jalapeños on top were delicious! With multiple seating options, and very attentive staff, you have a wonderful experience. Beautiful outdoor courtyard/patio dining with nice views - perfect for al fresco dining on a cool evening. The outdoor/bar seating is first come first served; order at the bar and they bring the food/drinks out to you. Not traditional table service like the indoor seating, which we've never been able to experience due to long wait times. Food is just alright - pretty mediocre Tex Mex fare. Nothing special and pretty expensive for what you get. The ambiance and drinks are the reason to visit. Also conveniently located in downtown Georgetown. read more

We came here around 5 for happy hour! although we couldn't sit outside we were sat inside right away. Our server was super nice. The ambience was happy hour vibes which we enjoyed. The food tasted great, I had the shrimp tacos and instead of fried they let me have them blackened. The Paloma was probably the best one I've tried in a long time. The only thing I think could be changed is the women's restroom handles to wash your hands they are encrusted in mold or sediment. We went to Encantada Cocina & Cantina in Georgetown for their Valentine's Day brunch event and the experience did not disappoint! I had such a fun time with friends. We made a reservation ahead of time and it was SO well worth it! When we arrived they had a lphoto station at the entrance with Valentine's Day props by Howdy Shots Photo Co. (huge shout of Howdy Shots Co. as well for making our experience extra memorable!) the photo station was equipped with items like red and pink cowboy hats and heart-shaped sparkly glasses so you could take cute photos, which came out looking adorable! Then we were escorted to a darlin igloo-style dome. Inside our enclosure there were roses hanging upside down, along with cute hanging lights, heart-shaped champagne glasses and heart shaped plates, which set the tone for our great experience. They also provided us colorful markers so we could each decorate a wine glass to take home, which we had fun with! Our waiter was kind and attentive the whole time. We were instantly greeted with a mimosa tower and small bites such as waffles with maple syrup, mini pink cupcakes, granola, chocolate hearts and yogurt served on a magnetic heart-shaped charcuterie board . We also ordered French press coffee that tasted so delicious and came served to us nice and hot with the freshest side of wiped coffee cream I have ever seen. The presentation as a whole was on point! Altogether, the entire experience was really amazing, so much fun and honestly unique. I would definitely do it again. I also loved the feel of the restaurant's overall environment and atmosphere and loved the indoor/outdoor seating areas. It works great for couples, friends, or groups. One of the best dining experiences I've had in Georgetown. Top rate dining, atmosphere, menu! We had a large group for lunch and our waiter was attentive and unruffled. He kept the chips, salsa, and drinks filled and gave great menu recommendations. I had the prickly pear margarita which is my #1 favorite cocktail and I loved it. I had the street corn with sriracha aioli and the flautas. Both were great for lunch before walking around the Square. The fajitas looked amazing but on my next trip I'm getting the arrachera tacos. In the long debate of where to go for dinner the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the Tex-Mex from Encantada in Georgetown seemed to be worth a shot. As we walked in, we learned that sitting outside required a brief wait, so we headed to their bar and waiting area to get some chips and queso and a drink to get the night started. I ended up opting for a Carajillo while my friend got herself a Mojito. The bar is pretty on top of it and it is cool they have a full bar menu separate from the main dining room that allows you to order drinks and eat without having to wait for a table to open up. The outdoor space and garden area for the bar is vast and very cozy. I love a good Carajillo and the one here was pretty solid. Watching them make it in front of me from the bar, it is clear it is well-crafted and balanced and it is great that they have multiple coffee-based cocktails for me and me alone. After munching through some chips and queso, it was not too long until our table was ready. The outdoor section we were seated in faces the south fork of the San Gabriel River which on a nice fall evening really builds a great atmosphere to dine at. Our waiter was pretty attentive through our visit even on a busy night where there was barely any parking. Looking at the view and the menu back and forth, I ultimately ordered the San Gabriel Plate which had a choice of beans, rice, and two enchiladas I got with queso plus a beef taco I got on flour. As a whole, it was fine. It was pretty simple Tex-Mex and was nothing that blew me away. It was maybe a little more pricey than the average Tex-Mex meal, so it is a little sad when you cannot taste the difference too much. The views and the drinks really make the place special compared to their food. If you are looking for the best Tex-Mex in Williamson County, this is not it even if the flashy atmosphere and beautiful aesthetic might pull you in. Just try not to be a moth to the flame. This replaced El Monumento. Such an improvement! I ordered the Cheese Queso enchiladas. Weird name, huh? These were DELICIOUS! Rice & black beans were a refreshing change from common sides from many Mexican restaurants. Chips & salsa are not complimentary, which is a huge bummer. But $5 for a salsa flight that includes a green, spicy red salsa & smashed back beans made the sting a bit less. Chips were excellent. Those smashed black beans were devoured! So good! Unfortunately this is the last time dining here. The prices are absolutely outrageous! You can go to downtown Austin and pay less. The taco order comes with two for $17.00 and they charge for rice and beans. The manager said they include them now. We ordered jalapeño poppers they brought out 5 small ones. It's like wow ok did someone eat the 6 one? $15.00 for 5 small jalapeño poppers. I saw the managers response to other peoples comments about prices. I cook a lot and go to the store probably twice a week I know how much things cost. You can buy a giant bag of jalapeños for 3.00 or less. We are a family of 3 we each ordered just the tacos and the appetizer. After tip it was $75.00. We have eaten at the domain for less and got more food. I was coming to this place when it was El Monumento, so when I searched for it, I was disappointed that it said it was permanently closed. Little did I know, it just changed owners and name. I love coming here and enjoy the views from the bar detached from the restaurant. The decor is the same. Things haven't changed that much which is a plus. I came by for a little bit so I didn't try the food this time. However, if the chance of owners is between family members I don't think the food has changed that much. The drinks are amazing though! I talked to the staff and they said the change has not affected anyone. All staff is pretty much the same. New items in the menu, but main dishes conserve the previous essence. Decided to give Encantada a try since it's change in family ownership. The new entrance is a little confusing but once inside, the vibe is very similar to the original El Monumento. The hostess and our server did a great job, very friendly and welcoming. The menu was updated and the beer/wine section was very good. We enjoyed the salsa flight and queso blanco to start. We ordered take-out one Sunday afternoon in October. The establishment is beautiful, located right on the San Gabriel River in the heart of GTX. There are lovely plants all around and a nice deck with outdoor seating that overlooks the river. We also saw several Monarch butterflies enjoying nectar in some of the bushes near the parking lot. I had the quinoa bowl, and it was satisfying both in flavor and size. I'll return, hopefully to dine-in or out next time. read more

I picked up take out. I didn't know what meat of enchiladas I was going to get with the San Gabriel platter because no description in the order process however they were chicken which consisted of a slice of chicken breast and a slice of cheese topped with some sauce. The sauce had already turned bad in the container. The charro beans were not fully cooked, hard and raw. The crispy tacos were not crispy, totally soggy on one side and could not eat a whole taco. The chips and salsa were ok. I went here when it was El Monumento, which was better. I won't be back. read more

Really nice looking building with a great patio but it's too large for the limited parking they have. The place is beautiful and the service is excellent. The food is just ok. The menu hints at an upscale Mexican cuisine but the flavors fall short. The saving grace here is probably that despite the upscale menu items the prices do seem reasonable. I don't like that they charge for chips and salsa, just not something I'm used to in central Texas. My wife wanted some queso though so we sprung for the chips and they were quite good. Alas another disappointment came quickly when we realized that even though we just spent $10 for a bowl of cheese, which wasn't all that great, that still didn't get us any salsa. They wanted another $4 for a salsa! I had the duck enchiladas. Not much flavor and it wasn't hot. Our food arrived so fast that I didn't even have to wonder... it's not cooked to order. I'm somewhat used to that in your typical Mexican cafe, but it's not the upscale vibe they are trying to pull off here. Oh, and I found bones (multiple) in my enchiladas. I want to start by saying this is my third Encantada experience. The first, the night they opened, the second visit was in mid February. The first two experiences truthfully, were disappointing. I was exceptionally disappointed because El Monumento was somewhere we frequented sometimes more than once a week. Always taking our out of town guests as well as a weekend spot for ourselves. At the grand opening things were all over the place, probably to be expected. A few months later when we tried again we were once again disappointed. It seemed like the fajitas on that visit weren't the best and it kind of gave the impression that they were still navigating a changing menu. After not having been in a while, craving one of our favorites and continuing to try and support a local business we decided to try again. I'm so glad we did. It really did seem like everything was the best it's ever been. My fajitas were cooked exactly the way I asked. Our waitress, Maddy, was excellent. It was exactly what we had been missing for months. I'm really looking forward to making this a regular spot again. I also have to admit that another big reason that we decided to give it another try is most of the negative reviews seem to be from the initial transition. It really felt like this got worked out. I also appreciated that the owner and their spouse are active on socials and it really seems like they're trying to make this restaurant a success. I appreciated some of their comments back to negative reviews saying they were going to work on whatever the review stated. All this said, if you haven't been in awhile, check out Encantada. This time of year it's a great place for a meal. The reason for only 3 stars was the appetizer and the greeters. The guacamole was very bland. Even a little salt would have been an improvement. I've been twice in the past 3 weeks. The venue has changed owners & the new owner is bringing a new flare! Not only is the patio decorated with amazing Dia de Los muertos murals, photo opportunities & sugar skulls, the food, cocktails & service were amazing! BOTH times! They are also now pet friendly in the patio for well socialized & well behaved dogs. HUGE bonus! Not to mention the live relaxed music while we enjoyed the complimentary chips & salsa, chicken flautas, with a side of Mexican rice & black beans. The queso with ground beef was amazing! I'm always down for a cucumber margarita with Tajine & the Mexican martini was excellent! The food flavor & presentation was awesome & we felt the pricing was fair for today's market. Just as great as it was before the new ownership and name change. Beautiful space and interiors as always. Their burger and duck enchiladas will always be my favorite. The mole sauce it comes with has a depth of flavor. Love their queso, chips and salsa, buffalo wings, strawberry tres leches, and their decaf coffee which comes out a beautiful silver tray with a pretty silver French press and HOMEMADE fresh whipped cream and syrup! We sat on the patio out back for brunch, and you can see the river and park right in front of you. The weather was also perfect that day. Unfortunately the service is very slow and staff seem to be just going through the motions. We had to wait a while before even getting greeting by the hostess and had to ask another server to get our server. Server was young and appeared overwhelmed despite it not being very busy. I came here yesterday for the first time since this restaurant opened. Upon entering the restaurant, the decor is very bright and cheerful and welcoming. I was greeted promptly by the hostess and seated in a very nice booth. They have both inside and outside seating. They have full alcohol service. The prices are a little steep. Chips and salsa are not complementary at this Mexican restaurant. They cost four dollars, but they are exceptional. The chips are freshly made. They are served with two types of salsa and some black bean dip. For my meal, I selected street tacos and they were $14. Most of their meals do not include rice and beans. Rice and beans are three dollars extra. I also got some black tea, which was also exceptional. One thing that they do at this restaurant, which is quite classy is they serve things on a silver tray . The water came in a glass bottle with two glasses on the silver tray. My tea was served in a nice teapot with 2 cups, and a supply of lemons on a silver tray. The silver tray is really over the top and quite classy. My server was Olivia. Olivia did everything in her power to give us an exceptional experience. She was a very good server. Now comes the reason for the four stars. My husband got steak tacos. Upon picking them up, the tortillas literally crumbled. I asked Olivia for new tortillas so he could wrap them again and Olivia instead ordered him a new meal, which was very kind. I asked her to double wrap the tacos and they did . However, the tortillas still crumbled when he picked them up. This was disheartening. They definitely have an issue with their steak taco tortillas. I will definitely be here again for more street tacos, but my husband will not be ordering the steak tacos. This is a great place to bring a date or to meet friends. It's a good restaurant to visit. The hours are different during the week than they are on the weekend, so make sure to check their hours before you visit. read more
