Went there for Saturday brunch. We had a reservation, but it didn't seem necessary (they thought so, too, I got an email halfway through brunch that the reservation was canceled). The waitstaff were all very kind and attentive. The food felt very overpriced for what we received. The brunch fruit bowl I received consisted of four thin slices of strawberry (not even one strawberry), two pineapple chunks and no more than 15 blueberries. The ham and eggs Benedict was borderline flavorless and the egg white was cold and runny. I love a good poached egg, but it was more liquid than poached. The tequila sunrise was musky and the flavor of the tequila overwhelmed the rest of the drink. I really wanted to like this place! However, I spent $35 on a pretty pitiful brunch meal. The restaurant seating area and decor were all nice. The bathroom had no music and is small and cramped (you can't get paper towels without either blocking the door or a stall). So much potential... Luka was a solid waiter. The peach cobbler was very good...we took it back to the room and enjoyed it. That is both stars. My wife and I ordered the mixed green salads. Hers had a half cherry tomato that had a visitor in it. Images below. I ordered the pork chop and it was only half cooked. It also had the sauce on it even though I requested it on the side. I asked if the cooking temperature was correct and the waiter confirmed it was not. They took it back to the kitchen, butterflied it and recooked it. It was fine but less effort than should be provided. The manager never came by to ask any questions or discuss the three issues. $134 and a very poor effort. We went for Mother's Day Sunday buffet. There was more than an hour wait. We did not make reservations and the place highly encourages one. We needed a table outside and not all tables have an umbrella. Today was an exceptionally hot day and no one would just sit comfortably in the sun. The servers were super sweet and friendly. Most of them came and pet our mini poodle. They also bought water off the dog when asked. The biggest was quite eclectic. There were cookies and round rock donuts, then there were fruits and 2 types of pastas and broccoli with cranberry . (Cold) friend fish, fried chicken, seasonal veggies, mash potatoes, baked mac and cheese. Lots of meat options I didn't check. Over all the place was bustling. The food was okay. Drink was okay. The buffet comes with pancakes or waffles. We were told for pancakes you have option of plain, blueberry or chocolate chip. I ordered chocolate chip and then found a charge of $1.50 for that on the bill. Would like to not have been offered that or be told there was a charge. No wait time. We were seated right away. The ambiance was inviting with nice decor. Plenty of TV's. Our sever Paulina was fantastic, with plenty of personality plus. She is the true definition of Customer Service. She was always checking in on us to make sure that we were okay. She gave excellent suggestions. We ordered Just Winging it Lemon Pepper Wings with Blue Cheese dipping sauce and Salmon Street Tacos. Oh my goodness the food was exceptional, it was served her hot and flavorful. Just delicious. First visit to this restaurant. Parking very limited unless you use valet or hotel garage a block away. Area was largely unoccupied and 3 of 4 nearby restaurants in the same vacinity were closed. Food order taken by her thereafter was challenging when questions about sides arose. Took almost 30 minutes for a salad and 3 sandwiches to arrive and restaurant wasn't crowded. Different person delivered food. Salad was a taco salad but had a white creamy dressing on it - tasteless - and field greens on a taco salad - huh? . A tiny bit of cheese, 3 slices of avocado and small cubes of chicken - skip it. Reuben was ok - ample meat and toppings. Should have been sweet potato fries instead of waffle fries and asked for a correction. We were finished eating when the sweet potato fries arrived by a third person. At least they were reasonably warm. Monte cristo was very well done and other sandwich was more bread than fillings. No other options other than fries w sandwiches. Took a very long time to get a to go box (for the dog) and the bill. Service was terrible and mediocre food. Mid range price for bar food - $20/pp. Peach cobbler was tasteless canned peaches in a sauce with ice cream. Thought it was apples- skip this too. It's a great spot to people watch and is in the main concourse of the area that has games and a green space for families to enjoy. We had one of THE BEST waitresses that you can ask for! Her name (I believe) was Haley (sp?)! We ordered the fried mushrooms with ranch, Chicken Picatta and, the New York Reuben. The mushrooms were unbelievable!!!!! There is a light and crispy breading that doesn't take away from the mushroom flavor. I'll post a pic, but we had already started digging in. The Chicken Piccata was better than I could get at an authentic Italian spot. The chicken was moist, lightly breaded, and juicy. The sauce was light and flavorful and, the pasta was perfectly al dente. My sister ordered the Reuben and it was fantastic! The only unfortunate part was that the sauerkraut was missing from the sandwich. We didn't complain as it was still wonderful!!!! This was one of our top ten places to have a nice Saturday lunch. Avoid unless you like tasteless food. A vegetarian in TX never a good combo I guess. Selected this place next to my hotel for the beyond burger and guac. Guac is tasteless mush no seasoning and chips just ok and overly salted. When I went to order the beyond burger they said they don't have it anymore just haven't taken it off the menu. When I asked about other vegetarian options I was told I could either order a salad and remove the protein or they will make veggie enchiladas. I ordered the enchiladas and they were horrible with no flavor or seasoning. I did not any of my food or my Paloma mule which was all mix and not enjoyable. This was the first restaurant I tried after checking into my hotel across the street. The restaurant was packed, they have outdoor seating and it's a great place to sit and have a few drinks. There's an outdoor bar, fire pit, and cornhole. If I wasn't so tired, I would've sat outside and relaxed. I got mama's fried chicken, fried pickles, and peach cobbler. I was tired so I order the food to go. I would bathe in the gravy that smothered the chicken if I could. It was the best meal I've had in a long time and this place set the bar high. I frequent the Sunday brunch often rotating guests .. introducing new people to the establishment .. my bf is a restaurant owner himself has made simple request and eaxh time the same lady rejects them .. first request no bacon on a turkey club sandwich she said that wasn't possible secondly he asked for a as pitcher of water only because he drinks a gallon daily faithfully and she refused to allow the server to bring a pitcher .. the server came back and stated that she was not allowed to leave a pitcher (no reason provided ) she then said I will be back often to replenish for you though but did not really do that . One of the few places still open past 10pm in this area, we decided to check it out since it was right next to our hotel. It wasn't very busy on a Sat night but it's most likely due to the holidays. Our bartender was super nice, gave a great suggestion on what we should order and it ended up being the best late night layered nachos we've ever had. It's served as an appetizer but with the amount of shredded chicken and beans squeezed between each layer of chips and cheese, it felt more like an entree. This is my first time trying this restaurant as I walked in I got greeted from the hostess and we sat down in a booth. The server greeted us right as we sat down. I will say this place has excellent service. The ambience was really nice not a lot of people, so it wasn't loud and you could really enjoy a meal. The short rib was tough and I guess the sour creams on the side was because of the spice but I really didn't like this dish. 4.5 Chicken piccata pasta (my sisters main dish)- so I actually tried this dish I liked it. The pasta was really light and the bacon gave it a good amount of flavor, but my sister didn't like the capers it was her first time trying them lol but this dish was 6.5 Kids nachos come with beans and cheese the tortilla chips were cooked perfectly but they should have refried beans on top of them 4.5 This place has so much potential. David was our waiter and went above & beyond taking care of the needs of 16 ladies! It was fairly crowded for a Tuesday night, but our food and drink orders were timely, delivered hot, and with no mistakes. David followed up with us and provided whatever we needed. The service was definitely 5 star!! My calamari was ok, the sauce was good, but I wouldn't call it diablo. The French onion soup was good but a little greasy on top. Some of the things my dining mates ordered looked really good, but I didn't personally taste them, so I can't comment. I will definitely go back and try some other entrees and appetizers. When you arrive here the big problem is trying to find a place to park. If the spots along the road are filled, there is a free parking garage on Woodlawn Avenue next to the restaurant. The spots on the street are for 30-45 minute use. If you decide to dine out doors, they have some nice outdoor seating. When starting out, they do have a decent selection of cocktails, margaritas, wine and five craft beers. If you come here for lunch like we did, there will be a simple one page menu and a menu page for apps and salads. You do get a good 12 ounce beer pour, but I was underwhelmed with the $8 four ounce frozen margarita, so I switched to the Cadillac Ultima which was just slightly better at almost twice the price for 6 oz. We had the calamari Diablo app which was not spicy at all, but it did come with some fried pickles and Parmesan and was cooked perfectly. I got the French dip, and was not happy with the cheap white bun that desintagrated as I attempted to pick it up. It should have been served on a firm crusty baguette. The waffle fries were Ok, but I would have preferred another side choice. The veggie burger was good, but not made with black bean, although the gluten free bun was exceptional. The almond encrusted chicken salad was well made. We did decide to finish the meal off with the apple cobbler dessert with scoop of vanilla which was good. When it comes to the final transaction, they will not bring a handheld device with a tip screen waiting for your immediate attention. You'll have time to decide on the tip when you sign the bill. 5 stars for the food!!! Stumbled on this place on a nice Sunday afternoon to watch some football and look forward to coming back to try other things on the menu! We only wanted something to munch on and The chicken tinga nachos DELIVERED! The is a delicious , elevated twist on nachos and I highly recommend asking for fresh and grilled jalepenos!! My buddy wanted to go check out hard count earlier and I'm glad he suggested it. They had most of the nfl games on and said that usually, they only have game sound on at the bar for the Texas teams, which is cool. Yvonne at the bar was great. Friendly, funny, and she made some delicious drinks. I had a few micheladas, blood Mary's, and an electric jellyfish on draft. The micheladas were Pacifico beer which was ideal and only $7. The bloody Mary and jellyfish were both $5 each which is a great deal. We had the fried mushrooms, which were plentiful, and I had the burger with the fried egg. I was full from the quail, quac, along with chips and salsa. However, I did attempt to eat most of my burger! The patties on these burgers we are juicy and delicious!
