I can't believe I hadn't reviewed this place, so let's fix that. My wife and I have visited a number of times over the last couple of years, so we're fans who will continue to return. The interior has almost a diner type feel to it, but it's also modern and spacious. The staff are very helpful and the service is in the "Southern charm" realm. A selection of desserts is available for takeout in a refrigerated case at the checkin area, and while on that topic: as others have mentioned, this is a "get on the waitlist when you get here" kind of place, but trust me, it's worth it. First order of business for me is always coffee, and their cuppa is a good, straightforward, comfort food pour, tasting great no matter how you take it. Of course, you can get adult beverages as well, and the bloody Marys in particular are a treat. Moving on to food, I've tried a number of things here: Chicken and grits - Featuring chicken tenders in a nice, thick bowl of yummy yellow grits, adorned with egg and bacon, it's a flavor party in your mouth. I added some Valentina sauce for spice and it really satisfied. Biscuits and gravy - Tender, flaky biscuits smothered in warm white cream gravy with chunks of sausage and coarse ground black pepper, these gems can indeed be a meal by themselves. Ask me how I know. :) Carrot cake - Tried this on our most recent visit, and wow. It's a three layered affair with dense cream cheese frosting, and the cake was super fresh and moist. Big walnut chunks were visible throughout, and it was just a knockout, through and through. Finally, one other thing completely unrelated to food: The restrooms are the awesome unisex "row of single seater rooms" that just remove any weirdness or "more girls than guys" issues. They're super clean as well, and you know, we all gotta go, and these are probably second only to Buc-ee's in terms of greatness. Kudos to the designers and the staff that keep them in top shape.

We had a late breakfast at the Monument Cafe for the first time to celebrate getting our license to commit marriage. So we decided to take a trip back in time to a 50s-style diner. Monument pulled off chic Happy Days kitsch with aplomb and an upscale touch. Despite wanting a slice of pie very desperately, I settled for the daily special of Pecan Pie French Toast. My lady went with the far more traditional and beloved hamburger and onion rings plate. Because nothing says breakfast like crispy cow and root vegetables. Rachel, our waitress was prompt, and attentive. Unfortunately, she had to be the bearer of bad tidings. They had just served the last order of Pecan Pie French Toast. I'll bet they had more Pecan Pie. They just weren't going to waste it on my French toast. So we ordered a flight of margaritas while I pondered the menu. My near-wifey and me--not the waitress and me. And ate our free biscuits. As we were told, biscuits are Monument's answer to tortilla chips. They just don't crunch the same and they don't come in a basket and there are only two of them. Otherwise, identical. While we were waiting, Rachel came up with a substitute breakfast of the day: Gingerbread French Toast. I really wanted just a pancake, but French Toast was calling my name, so I changed my mind. And then my order. In that order. The margaritas were "interesting". The flavors confounded each other. We agreed there were two we liked best and two we liked least. So we drank those first. We saved the best. It was really hard getting out with the margarita glasses in our pockets without spilling, but we did it. My wifey's burger was great. She even let me taste an onion ring. I got more than a free lick. I got a whole ring. Which she will get in a few weeks. My French Toast was piled high with whipped cream and sprinkled with a crumbed gingerbread cookie and powdered sugar. I missed not having syrup. Wifey said it was offered, I was just starstruck by the whipped cream on the French toast. Unfortunately, the gingerbread cookie just left me longing for the pie I lost. That's how the cookie crumbles. Now how do you get 5 stars out of this experience, you ask? Because of the pie I didn't eat. My wifey forbid it. So I saved calories. All joking aside we had an absolutely delightful experience here and would come back in a heartbeat. Rachel was fantastic and made up for the menu omissions. I'll manage to sneak back by sometime on my own for that pie.

This restaurant is always top-notch. From the service to the food, the cleanliness, the friendliness, the tastiness, the affordability!!! They have fresh pies for sale, along with coffees and teas and more. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is my favorite place to go to lunch and breakfast.

Considering we have been to Georgetown many times, we had never eaten here.. until we did!! Wow, wow, wow! From the wait to the service to the food.. it did not disappoint. Sure, we went an hour before closing, but the place was still somewhat packed and people were still being seated. The menu offers a wide variety of food, which is good since I am a vegetarian. The staff was friendly and were very patient in some requests (I had asked if the broccoli cheddar soup had any type of meaty broth, she went back to check and told me it was vegetarian friendly). I ordered the grilled 4 cheese sandwich which came with a cup of soup, plus a side (I got French fries). He ordered biscuits and gravy ( said they "are the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had outside of MO), chicken sandwich, and onion rings (not pictured). Will we ever go back again? You bet we will.

This is a well run operation. Think small town diner that has standardized and made more efficient the process of delivering a delicious meal to your table. The kitchen prep, the cooking griddle, the prep counter, and the customer counter stretch from one end to the restaurant to the other. Food comes out hot and well presented. We came here two days in a row and even brought family with us the second day. The first time here, my hubby and I both got Eggs Benedict. He went for the classic with ham. I opted for the Florentine, and they were kind enough to add tomato to my Benedict. The second time I went for the seasonal French toast with peaches and cream. It was filling and scrumptious. To avoid the hour wait for a table, we sat at the counter the first time. We were able to get a seat immediately because we arrived well before the church crowd on a Sunday. On the Monday morning when we came, my hubby went a half hour early to put our names in the list. By the time the rest of our party showed up, our table was ready. There is down time here since there is a large retirement community here. The place is always busy, but they are consistently good at providing a delicious hot meal.

Pancake! Not sure if it was worth the cost of one pancake. The syrup was amazing, the pancake was good.
    Kiana R.

Service was amazing! About a 30-35 minute wait on a Sunday, but it felt like the time went by since we checked out the super cute local bookstore around the corner and the antique store across the street. We got the eggs Benedict, our waitress recommended a side of spinach instead of potatoes and it was great! Especially because they already give complimentary biscuits for each person at the table. The biscuits were warm, salty, and paired great with what I believe was some homemade jellies. My husband got the chicken and biscuits with gravy. He got extra gravy for 50¢ and loved it. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're driving through like we were.

Nice atmosphere and good breakfast food. Waitress was super nice. If you're going through Georgetown it's a must stop

Heard a lot about this place....and it lives up to the hype. My wife had a pancake; very good. I had the corned beef has w/ over-easy eggs, plus a side of biscuits and sausage gravy. They make the corned beef in house; the biscuits are exceptional. You must give this place a try!!

My sister is a foodie and every time I'm in Austin, TX, she always gives me a list of places she says that I need to try. I had to go to a doctor's appointment in Georgetown, TX. While there my sis said to go check this place called Monument Cafe. It was about a 10 minute trip from my doctor's office. First off, the minute you walk in, it feels like you're in a movie from the 50's. The decor reminds me of New York; it has subway tile all around, with dark mahogany wood floors and booths. They have a unique bathroom setup. I thought it was so clever that I took a video of it.

Second visit here, I've only tried the breakfast sandwhich & biscuits. The grits were flavorless and they added entirely too much cheese . Not impressed with those however the sandwhich is great and so are the biscuits . The jams offered with the biscuits are well rounded, I enjoyed the blaackberry the most. We brought some family in they had a salad and a Turkey sandwhich - they enjoyed them both. The Wait for a table can get long depending on the day and time you go. Our waitresses name was heather and she was awesome! Very upbeat , kind, and knowledgeable! She paid attention to detail and ensured we had everything we needed through out our visit!

Food: I ordered Eggs Benedict Florentine, and it came with a side of grits. The eggs and spinach, and it was delish. I only had a little of the grits because I was already full after finishing the eggs. The server brought biscuits and jams, and they were delish. Service: Our server was super nice. Ambiance: I liked the decor and this place was hopping when we got there. It has a family-friendly vibes. Parking: They have their own parking lot. Street parking is also available.
