I called around to a lot of offices and left voice mails with someone even telling me they would call me back. No one ever did. Julie's office got back to me that day and set up an appointment to meet the next week. Julie was very welcoming and took lots of notes to make sure she got the gist of my case correct. She was able to work with me on a payment schedule and kept in touch with me weekly via email in regards to what her plan was with my case. We decided to go for pre-trial probation and Julie had written up a letter to the ADA in order to let them know that is what we would like to go for. She kept me informed that an ada had not yet been assigned to my case. The day of the pre-trial conference, she met me at the Court House and she was very professional in letting me know what would be happening. We agreed to a 6 month pre-trial probation with 10 weeks of anger management classes. Due to Julie's work, the Judge ruled only 1 month of pre-trial probation and no anger management classes (which would have cost me around $500), so I am forever thankful for that. I will recommend Julie to anyone!

Avoid this lawyer please! She only cares about money and f*cked up your case. After I paid her…read morelawyer fee and H1B lottery fee listed on contract, she said I had high possibility of RFE so she needed to offer more services on my case. She could directly asked for more money rather than pretended to be in a difficult position. She gave me a 2 minutes call, and then charged me extra $400 consultation fee. Oh I have to mention that she said her throat was painful and 2 minutes was her limit. Impressive. Then she asked me to get a diploma evaluation from a New York agency, which charged me extra $500. I didn't understand why I need a professor from nowhere to evaluate my diploma of a Top40 university, but I still paid her. Now you get it, what she needs is only MONEY. How about my case? Oh I'm sorry after I turned down her another money consuming service, I barely heard from her. She even asked me to print out the electronic files for her, so I doubted if their office do have a printer. Then I never heard from her until the H1B returned notice. They won't return your money even you're not selected. Wow. Trust me, you deserve better lawyer and service. Not this one.

Yanran Pan is horrible! Seriously, avoid this place for your own sake…read more She seems to be a nice person when I first talked to her, as a Chinese, I would prefer to have someone I can communicate, and with good price, I chose to hire her. That was proved to be a huge mistake. After I paid her. she would not reply to my email as fast, ignored my request, simply because she is busy, she only cares about money. The service was so poor that my employer would not give her information of the company because they don't trust her, and my HR told me Yaran could not even put correct English word in my application. My H1b case got Request for Evidence from USCIS, Yaran started to ask for add-service even it is clearly stated in the contract that no extra charge for RFE. And of course, after refusing to pay extra, she ignore my request until the last minute. BTW, her assistant is still sending me virus through email now, I'd rather pay more fees to someone who is at least a decent person.

I rarely write 1-star reviews but strongly feel this is necessary…read more My husband and I met with Jennifer Deland to discuss estate planning, and the meeting it was extremely unproductive and frustrating. Jennifer requires a $400 non-refundable fee for a consultation fee unless you sign on with her within 30 days - this was our first mistake, but a good (costly) learning for us. First, we sat in a tiny, dingy room that barely fit three as she struggled to find usable space on a whiteboard that was stained with marker. Realizing she couldn't erase the board, she opted to use someone else's faded hen-scratches to "guide" our discussion. She jumped from topic to topic erratically, and our specific questions seemed to throw her off. She repeatedly referenced what other clients have done rather than provide guidance on what would best suit our needs, which is why we were there! We came prepared with a 1-page Asset Summary that she barely read through and asked where our "receipts" were. Why she needed proof of our assets is beyond me - this was supposed to be a consultation. She did, however, pull public records of our home in advance of the meeting. As it became apparent that she wanted us to "pick" an approach and sign on with her, we pushed back, citing that we were in no way prepared to select an approach given our minimal understanding of our options. She then leaned into us and rudely blurted out, "Well, what is your objective?" Stunned, we responded, "to create a plan". The conversation was maddening. After a few unsuccessful attempts to convince us to sign on with her, she said, "OK, let me make one last-ditch effort" (were we buying a used car?) She began typing frantically on her laptop, explaining that she needed to make thorough notes about our meeting and said we'd be receiving a letter with "curt language" in the mail, but we could still change our minds within 30 days. To wrap up, she asked if we had a "little check for her". Sorry, $400 is hardly little. We paid her, took our asset inventory and left.
