Relatively clean and pleasant place to do laundry. Also a little more affordable than another place I tried in Phoenix.

The washers are $1.25 and the dryers are 25 cents for about 10-15minutes (i noticed it varried). There is a small section off to the side for children and Tv's are located inside as well. It's really clean and hasn't been too busy the times I've gone here. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. read more

Wow! From the moment I walked into this laundromat, I felt safe and welcome. You may think this is a silly thing to say and I've been in some seedy public laundry facilities. After collecting items from the car using their handy rolling carts, I changed my $20 bill into quarters, which can be done at the change machine on site. I then browsed the washer and dryer selection to make the best and most cost conscious choice. In addition to front loading and top loading machines, there are commercial washers to do several loads at once and/or tackle the big stuff like bed comforters. While you wait, there are several comfortable seating areas, free WiFi, and plenty of televisions. Even more important, the people working here were helpful and pleasant. They answered my questions with professionalism and offered some much needed advice regarding which machines to use. Love this place! The staff are wonderful!!! I wish I could name of them each by name but it doesn't matter if it's 2-3 in the morning or 5 in the evening, they are always so nice and wanting to help out any way they could. If you enjoy homeless sacked out inside and outside this is the place for you. If you enjoy baby making rub you up and down lyrics pounding over the speakers this is the place for you. Half the washers and driers are being upgraded, but having to endure the over head radio music selection and the interesting non-laundrymat smells is too much for me. I asked the attendant that was standing outside smoking for most of the 2 hrs I was here, why this selection of music he laughed !! I told him it is innapropriate. Again a laugh. Hope the right people watch the 20 or so cameras all over in here or at least remove the radio and put music that is all ages appropriate. Attendants cleaned the machines with bleach and I place my bedding just in machines not knowing. As a result, my brand new bedding went from Lavender to Brown. After showing the attendant the only response was a sign saying wash at your own risk. I called and they cussed me out. My only option is to sue for the cost to replace. My daughter uses fluff and fold services. Her stuff had bleach damage the week before. They offer free drying credit for positive YELP comments. Zero accountability or customer service! What's Good About It: The best laundromat in the area, no contest. Want an actual bathroom with a lock on the door? Yes! Soap and TP too, just like uptown. How about a bill-changer for $20s to $10s and $5s? Reliably working dollar changers? Community bulletin board? Yes! And cute little maternal signs everywhere ("Don't forget! This machine dispenses two groups of quarters a minute apart - don't walk away until you get all your money!") Even surveillance cameras that are actually connected. Full bottles of soap if you can pay the understandably huge markup. Wash and fold service too. Someone's looking out for you here. Laundromat seems continually staffed by people who treat their job like an actual job. Also 40% fewer crackheads than the other area Laundromats, though I'd still watch my back here.. no one has stolen my soap or my clothes yet, like they have at other laundromats. Floor is clean enough, lint filters never seem clean enough though in the dryers (clean them first before you put your clothes in. Takes a minute, saves you money and the Laundromat energy). Non-working laundry machines and dryers are promptly labeled as such, and cheerfully give you back your money should you discover a non-labeled out of commission machine, which is more than I can say for other places around where the manager will argue about your last damn quarter and wrestle you to the ground for it. The attendants are all English-proficient, sometimes a little *too* friendly (I like my privacy, I'm here to do laundry, not make friends for life) and, miraculously there's wi-fi, the total cost of your laundry is noticeably less than elsewhere. No bullshit cards either to use (and demagnetize, or never get your money's worth out of) It's also a little less Bukowski than the others (in a good way). We'll keep using this place until we have our own machines. Suggestions: God-awful Stinky Grody Smoking: One of the only things I would change about this place is to dedicate an area IN THE BACK for smokers. I have asthma, and am very sensitive to cigarette smoke and it just drifts in the open front doors when smokers just simply step outside a foot or two to smoke. I work at a place where it's required to go away 20 feet from the front door to smoke. There's room in the back of the building to smoke.. why not there? Please, Please, Please, Laundry Basket, consider moving your smokers elsewhere. I hate coughing, getting a headache, having teary eyes,feeling nauseated & and smelling like a bar when I come home from washing my clothes. Please consider moving the smokers away from the doors, or at least improving the ventilation to blow smoke OUT and AWAY from the inside. Or arrange misters to mist the smokers until they are soggy. Or encase the smokers in an airtight Lucite box so they can get their smoke on and not bother anyone else. Just please do something, anything about that. Dirty Lint Traps: As mentioned above, the other thing the staff needs to do (or you, when you do your laundry there) is to CLEAN THE LINT TRAPS in the dryers. You will save yourself money and time by pulling out the lint filters and cleaning them before you start your dry cycle. The staff can do this too, but they don't seem interested in it. Oh, well. Do it yourself, like I do, when I'm here. No one seems to mind. Reading: Please also consider some cheapo magazine racks where people *can* donate their magazines for re-use. You already have a space for religious tracts.. why not a sort of place where there are lots of magazines for free that people can bring in, and encourage literacy? Crazy Section: A clever entrepreneur would lease the rest and operate a dry-cleaners next door; this area hasn't enough of them. A *really* clever entrepreneur would have a Suds & Duds (beer @ 70% more $ per glass), video machines, *and* a dry cleaner. And a crazy entrepreneur would chuck it all and have strippers do all our laundry. :) read more

Pretty coo spot, but its a really small place so if u not here at the right time it sukkz cuz u ain't gettn no washer. Alot of peeps come here to wash. No! Went here because of their website. Loved that the prices were listed there so I could plan. Got there and it was packed. Understandable because its Saturday night. What is NOT acceptable is for it to be 102 outside and the laundromat does not have AC!! They had the doors propped open and all the customers were red & sweaty. I was gonna take my chances & went in to make sure the big 6 load washer I needed was available. It was, however it was 5.75. The website said it was 4.75. Its only a dollar, but on top of how hot it was in there, it pissed me clean off. read more

Came here yesterday morning to do my laundry and saw they had a weekday service to do it for you for .99 cents a pound. I am very busy and the option to have help in such a time consuming task was incredible. The guy working, John Michael, was really nice, accommodating and really really cool. All of my clothes came back neatly folded, smelling great and in less than two hours. I would highly recommend this place. Location is a tiny bit scary but for a laundromat it was clean and staff was super nice. Cost me a total of $35 for all of my clothes, comforter and sheets which was totally worth it. read more

I looked to Yelp for reviews on laundromats before heading out to do my winter bedding. Ha- yes there is winter bedding in AZ! All the reviews are true. Wonderful! I went during lunch on a Tuesday so wasn't sure how it would be when I got there. It was busy but there are more than enough washers and dryers to accommodate that. I needed the larger units and found them available. The really amazing thing is that I washed and dried 4 pillows, a queen mattress cover, two queen duvets, a queen massive comforter and a queen electric blanket for $24 in 55 minutes!!! Everything came out perfectly. They are open 24 hours if you have a weird schedule. I don't think I'd want to go there at night or any weird hours unless I was just dropping off or picking up; but perfect for a day-trip (or rather an hour-trip) to do some big stuff. Carrie, one of the attendants, was so sweet. In the midst of doing laundry for others who dropped off, and cleaning equipment as people left; she took the initiative to be sure I knew the little ins and outs of the dryers I was using. She was so nice. Made the time go more quickly. Everything is kept clean. There were two attendants on duty. All the machines take quarters and there is a change machine. The really big dryers were more than I needed so I used the next size. Really large as well. They were .25 for 5 minutes but on medium heat they got everything dry in under 20 minutes. So, I live way on the northeast side of the 101 in North Scottsdale. Decided to make the drive to West Central Phoenix because of the reviews. Definitely worth the drive. Definitely recommend. Clean and friendly employees. A busy place but still plenty of machines to use. I ran 4 loads at the same time and was out in less than an hourish time. I went to wash out comforters, pillows and my son's stuffed animals. I will definitely be coming back. Our house was being remodeled and our laundry room was not operable for four weeks so I had to drop off clothes to be laundered which I dreaded. The location of this place was not the best area but they had good reviews and they were the closest laundry place that did wash and fold. It wasn't the neatest but it wasn't nasty or anything. The girls inside that work there were nice. They laundered everything for us clothes, towels, sheets everything came back clean and folded. I used them twice during our construction and was pleased. This place is great! I've been coming for months and I love the accessibility of the machines, the cleanliness of the place, but especially the hours. I've always received quality customer service, but none better than the other morning with Carrie. What a great and caring employee she is. She took it upon herself to assist me with my blankets and explain the benefit and cost savings of using the bigger load machines in the back. Carrie then provided a better option for drying my blankets than I usually use. As someone who works in customer service, I appreciate when employees take the initiative to help people that may not realize every solution to their situational needs. And that fact that Carrie gave me a more cost effective option instead of letting me put more money into the business is the best thing of all! She is a valuable asset! read more

I believe that a laundromat must be, by nature, more than simply a facility in which clothes are washed and dried. The reason is that, like a restaurant, there is a market service provided that requires a medium-length waiting period in which it is impractical to leave and return later. I will elaborate on this point later in the review, but let's get on with examining the seven pillars of a laundromat. 1. CLEANLINESS. A dirty laundromat is death, because nobody wants to reach into their pocket and pull out a cockroach. Fortunately, this place is kept exceptionally clean. Whenever I go in and the place isn't too busy, I see the attendants mopping the floors or wiping off surfaces. I cannot recall seeing anything that I'd consider dirty. I see the attendants in the parking lot as well, and it is clean out there too. The layout of the facility also falls under the category of cleanliness. I am pleased to say that the layout is very simple and symmetrical. When you walk in the entrance, you are in the center, and the left side mirrors the right side. There is a 2x3 grouping of washers in the center, with sufficiently spaced aisles. The dryers are found along the 2 side walls. Other services (e.g., vending/change machines) are found in the corners. 2. LOCATION. This point depends on where you live, but it's impossible to say that it's not in a good location. It is at the intersection of Camelback and 19th Ave, two major streets. It is near the light rail's end-of-line. The light rail is also somewhat of a disadvantage, however, because reaching the laundromat while traveling north on 19th Ave. requires a U-turn at the stoplight on Colter. One of my major complaints is the lack of an identity on the laundromat's sign. What is the name of this place? There are literally five possibilities. Is it 75c Wash 25c Dry? Wash & Fold 99c/lb? Laundromat & Drop-off? Laundry Basket? Coin Wash? When (if) you figure out that it's Laundry Basket, it's still such a generic name. It does tell you enough (barely) about what to expect from the place (laundry service), but if you're going to roll with a name like Laundry Basket, you've got to promote that brand. At least make a logo. 3. EQUIPMENT. There are 50 washers that cost 0.75. The wash lasts about a half hour. The laundromat is in the process of upgrading to new washers. The brand new ones are near the entrance. Anyway, there are 30 normal washers on the left side (10x3) and 20 on the right side. Behind those 20 are 10 high-efficiency front-loading washers that are priced at 1.25. At the back wall are 8 commercial washers that cost 2.75. Along the side walls, there are 40 dryers (20 per side) that cost 0.25. There is also a gigantic dryer that can handle 6 loads and the price is 0.75. In my experience, they all work well. I have two serious complaints about the equipment. The first is that the machines are coin operated only. In 2012, I expect to be able to pay by credit/debit card. And within a few years, I expect to be able to pay by smartphone as well. I imagine a single machine that allows customers to use cash, a card, or a phone to acquire laundry tokens. My second complaint is the omission of essential equipment. Here I will return to my opening point. My number one complaint about this laundromat, and the reason that it will not receive five stars, is that it is lacking entertainment to pass the time. There is an effort, yes. There are newspapers and copies of Phoenix New Times available. The radio is playing easy-listening tunes. There are also plenty of quality seats. But there is really nothing to do but wait. A bored person might attempt to strike up a conversation with a person who is, let us politely say, not interested. And what are kids going to do for a half hour? They're most likely going to run around the laundromat. Slap a TV on the back wall, stick an arcade game like Pac-Man or Tron in the vending corner, and advertise Wi-Fi at the tables out front. Then you've got an awesome laundromat that people will be talking about. 4. ATTENDANTS. The attendants do an excellent job. They keep the whole area clean. They are friendly enough to acknowledge your existence but won't bother you excessively. They offer helpful tips, like when the new washers were first installed. 5. PRICE. I am very pleased with the nearly unbeatable prices of 0.75 for a good wash and 0.25 for a dryer. The price is one of the primary reasons that I use this laundromat. 6. SECURITY. Inside the laundromat, there is a monitor that shows 16(!) security cameras in use. The facility is open 24 hours, every day, with an attendant on duty. The attendants go outside and ensure that the parking lot (which is a rather laissez-faire area with room for about 40 vehicles) is secure as well. They are serious about security here. 7. BATHROOM. A bathroom is available to customers. You must ask an attendant. I haven't used it. Overall, top-notch laundry service, but it's a boring wait. read more

I went to Laundry Basket a few weeks ago to do my laundry, and found it clean and well run - but it's really really hot in there. Miserably hot. So, I spied the sign advertising .99 cents a pound laundry service. Voila! It's a self-indulgent little thing to do for yourself, but oh so much more rewarding than a mani-pedi. It made me very happy. It was done in 2-3 hours and done well. The towels were folded with the other towels, jammies with jammies - and stuff was folded so well that it cut my ironing in half. Plus, the people there are nice. I am disabled and needed help to get my stuff into the car and it was willingly offered. I will be back to Laundry Basket. To hell with the mani-pedi's! read more
