Great location, about 3 blocks from the northern escalator at Du Pont Circle. Plenty of room to spread out, it was just my wife and I but 6 could get cozy in here and 4 could be comfortable. The basement apartment is self sufficient, so we did not have the "bed and breakfast" experience of sharing, but that's OK for us.. Our host, Dana, was very friendly and, since our sight-seeing plans were kind of up-in-the-air, gave us lots of good advice on places to go and things to see. The room was really cute and clean. The bed was amazingly comfortable -- one of those adjustable tempurpedic mattresses. I'm not sure if every room has one or if it was just our room, but it sure made it hard to want to get out of bed. There is free wi-fi and continental breakfast downstairs in the morning. This place is a great alternative to the pricey hotels around DC -- it has a private, relaxing feel and yet is close enough to the Metro that it is also pretty convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Harris Teeter, Safeway, CVS, and FedEx literally 2 to 3 minutes away (walking). It was super convenient and we were happy. Most importantly though, management is wonderful. The owner, Steve, really cares about the tenants whom he call friends. It was always a delight running into him! So, we were absolutely thrilled with our stay at this hotel…read more We usually stay around the corner on Pennsylvania Avenue, at the Melrose hotel... Which is fancier But because we were staying nine nights, it appealed to me to take a hotel that had apartment styled rooms . I don't like Airbnb, because I don't wanna be responsible for Housekeeping... But we definitely wanted to have what we thought would be a kitchenette We took a one bedroom suite, which turned out to be a fully functional one bedroom apartment... A spacious king size bedroom, normal relatively small New York style bathroom which was absolutely fine, and a full living room with the dining table and a small kitchen We utilized every aspect of that hotel, including the laundry room that was available for a small charge, Trader Joe's which was a five minute walk away, Whole Foods which was a five minute walk in the other direction, and most important... The Foggy Bottom metro station. Within 20 minutes you can be anywhere, including Ronald Reagan airport... A direct shot on the blue line For those unfamiliar with Washington DC, foggy bottom is the closest metro station to Georgetown... Which is a leisurely 10 to 12 minute walk from the hotel to the center of the and dining district. The metro couldn't be easier to use, and the people at the hotel will help you find your way if you're unsure... And remarkably... The people who work at the metro stations are also incredibly helpful and patient... Quite a change from San Francisco where I live or New York where they pretend they are an idiot if you can even find them Another thing that makes the metro system so easy to use is that you can just click your phones and do auto pay if you have Apple Pay Google pay or something similar. I don't like other cities where you need to use that to charge some type of transit card... You can just directly do it there. Our tickets, no transit cards, no nothing just in and out. Back to the hotel, the restaurant was disappointing. The appetizer we served was so much of a joke that we didn't even eat dinner there. We just went somewhere else for dinner... But... And this is a good Butt... There are many restaurants within a 15 minute walk, including some of our favorites. And because we love to eat it happy hour there are several happy hour options available, including two branches of Founding Farmers We are a bit older, so we don't stay out that late in the day, and we don't care if we eat relatively early. So we usually enjoy loading up unhappy hour and moving from there. The Melrose also does a happy hour on cocktails and a few appetizers at all again for around the corner The front desk staff was astronomical, with the front desk manager really being a superstar. We were very appreciative of the excellent service by guest services manager Brandy, and her senior receptionist Jasmine. Service was excellent all the way around, with another set of thanks going to Saif , one of the bell/ door staff It's fair to say the hotel is not fancy nor the rooms elegant... But it was just so darn perfect for our knees and we would not consider staying anywhere else Also, the Watergate hotel is a few minutes walk away, so if you wanted to do something a little fancy or camping, you can go there for a drink. We did and had a nice time. I'm not sure I would want to stay in the place. The hotel is gorgeous but the rest of the Watergate is deteriorating So, a review, thanks to Brandy and her staff, the exceptionally large accommodations, the full size apartment at a very affordable price, and the location, I can't imagine staying anywhere else It was as far away from being a "corporate "hotel as I could've imagined

The company also offers some other furnished apartments in DC as well but I can only speak for the one in DuPont that I stayed in. Although given what I have seen, i would imagine that they are just as fabulous. I was between homes for a 2 weeks and looking for a place to stay in downtown DC. I happened upon DC Digs. They were fantastic to work with. I was able to do everything over e-mail. They sent me photos of the apartment I would be renting and were very reasonable for DC. On move in day, I was given the instructions to pick up the keys and was able to do everything without any hiccups. The apartment - is beautiful. The photos I was sent not only matched reality but exceeded it. These are mostly one bedroom apartments - so not palatial. However all of the space is tastefully and cleverly used. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking implements and sundries. The apartment comes with satellite tv service and internet/wifi that is included in the rental. Linens and bedding are provided as well as a cleaning service. Laundry machines are in the building as well. You can see that the owners really took their time and decorated the place with care. Location - can't be beat. It is less than 1 block from DuPont circle itself and all of the cafes and restaurants. Close enough to the action but the street itself is kind of quiet. There is limited parking and depending on availability, DC Digs sometimes can provide a parking space. But as I said this is based on availability. They were very up front about it but were able to come through in the end. If it wasn't for the fact that I have to drive to Virginia for work, I would have left the car and stuck with the Metro. There is a WholeFoods, a Safeway and several pharmacies (including a 24 hour CVS!) close by. I would use DC Digs again in a heart beat and recommend it to people looking for a short term stay in DC - but don't want to stay in a hotel. You can cook when you feel like it or head out and take advantage of the nation's capital.

The the restaurants on the Circle, 17th Street, and 14th Street offer great food and great variety. The neighborhood is safe and beautiful. Perhaps most importantly - the owners and staff of DC Digs are wonderful! Any questions we had were answered super fast. And Lamar (one of the owners) was incredibly gracious. When we had a little problem with the TV, he reached out to us and moved us to a different unit - and he was just incredibly gracious about the whole thing. We honestly can not say enough about how great DC Digs and the whole team was. We travel a lot and this was BY FAR our best experience. In reality, I was placed in a basement under the owner's house, which had originally been a storage room converted into a rental space -- something they never disclosed. The unit was uninhabitable, with a mechanical room beside the bed producing over 70 dB of sudden industrial noise, making it impossible to sleep or live normally. They offered no real assistance or service, and when we were forced into a constructive eviction, they only mentioned an alternative unit far too late to be of any use. Worse, they lied to my bank, falsely claiming they had provided services and issued a refund -- none of which ever happened. I paid $6,030.24 for this experience. They then cut off all communication, refused any refund, and are still insisting to the bank that they owe nothing. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. This company operates with deceptive advertising, no accountability, and total disregard for consumer rights. Be extremely careful -- this is a business that causes real harm to its tenants.

I'm hovering between 3.5 to 4 stars for this company. This company does long term housing leases…read morefor people coming to the DC area for work assignments and I stayed for 3 months. Cons: 1. I didn't get instructions on how to get into my property (has two electronic codes) until the day I checked in. I had warned them previously that my company will be sending the money by Thursday or Friday, and I needed to get into the property by Sunday. I also told them twice that I wanted this information because my flight lands at 9:00 PM and I may not arrive to the property until 10:30 PM due to baggage claim and other logistical things. As a woman in an unfamiliar city, I want to make sure I can get in and not linger outside. Luckily I got the codes, but I was little frustrated because it would have been good if they gave it to me by Saturday so I didn't have to scramble Friday (during work hours) and Sunday morning to try and get the info. 2. One of the electronic gates didn't end up working. It locked me out twice, and worse, it's at 8:00 PM (week of 10/24/2022). I called the after hours service and while I know I sounded frustrated (because I was outside in the cold for 30-40 minutes trying to get the door to unlock), the lady wasn't the most empathetic. When I told her I needed someone to come asap, she just spoke to me with a patronising tone. However, I was legitimately scared. It's surprising because as a woman, you should understand why another woman doesn't want to be locked out in the dark in a new and unfamiliar area. The service man, Demetrius, came to save the day multiple times. However, that door never got fixed properly which is concerning because anyone can enter that gate and a punch the apartment door's glass window (the door has an electronic key pad) to gain access to the dwelling. I was just told to not bother with the first gate anymore to prevent being locked out, so I did. I only lock it when I'm inside the apartment. 3. Apartment itself has a lovely structure. Great kitchen, solid granite/rock flooring, washer and dryer, and a modernish bathroom. The problem is the furniture. The settee couch has rips. The blue/grey sofa also has rips and a huge indentation in the middle where someone sat for too long. The bed in the one bedroom is squeaky and the pillows are poor-- some feathers are popping out. The mattress should be switched to a memory foam one for less noise and better sleep. The blanket has some stains, but luckily there's a duvet to cover it. 4. Some pest issues that were resolved. I found spider beetles, sow bugs, centipedes, and roaches once the exterminator went through the first time. I had to get them to come because I was bitten at night while sleeping (probably by the spider beetles). It wasn't bed bugs because the bites were too big and spread out for that. Luckily once the exterminator came a second time, all the bugs seem to be held at bay. These bugs are just quite persistent to staying around because it was a basement apartment and because of evolution. Pros: overall a responsive team. The leasing and sales departments (Karla in particular) were always very prompt and responsive. They helped with the bug issues quickly and responded to my needs to get different style invoices for work reimbursement. They also did any service calls fast. The apartment itself (which I found out later on) is not in the worst neighbourhood, but it does border some sketchier streets and there are some issues with mugging in the area, though nothing too terrible. I would recommend the company to others coming for long term stays and I even would recommend the apartment. Just do your research into the neighbourhoods in DC and definitely understand that basement apartments here have some pest control issues regardless.

This B&B is ranked #2 in DC on tripadvisor's website (#1 is owned by the same company) and I can totally see why they have such excellent ratings. The B&B is exactly what I was looking for. Right on a metro line (red about a block away, unless you take the elevator which is even closer) and had a number of things to do within walking distance. We arrived around 3pm on a Thursday and checked in and was given a quick tour of the place. Our room was the bay window room on the second floor. It was quite nice. After we checked in we went for a stroll around the zoo (three blocks up the road on the right). Then headed down towards Dupont Circle and got some great coffee (Filter) and some gelato! That jetted tub was supposed to earn its keep. The room: genuinely beautiful. The technology: aggressively dated. The vibe: a 90s time capsule, complete with missing doorknobs. There was effort here, but it felt like the hotel was holding its breath, afraid any real investment might trigger the next recession. What they got right: The bellhops were fantastic. Warm, personable, fun. Truly the highlight. Most staff we interacted with were polite and willing to help, which made the gaps elsewhere even more confusing. What they got wrong (beyond the dated room and tech): For a hotel that loudly advertises luxury service, the customer experience fell flat. Outside of the arrival bowl of fruit, nothing felt elevated. Night two, we ordered pizza and planned a cozy Home Alone movie night. The technology made streaming impossible. Fine, cable it is. We called the concierge and asked for two plates. Just two. The answer was a flat no. We were told to walk down to the lobby restaurant and see if they might have plates "to spare." I'm sorry, what? The next morning, room service arrived... with someone else's order. It was corrected, but for a luxury hotel, that kind of miss is surprising. Housekeeping came through, but only halfway. The coffee and minibar were never restocked. In a suite. At a luxury hotel. This is table stakes. At 9:30 PM we stopped by the lobby circle bar. It was immediately clear the bartenders did not want to be there. I get it, service work is hard. Still, opening our interaction by warning us about last call at 11 set a strange tone. By 10:00, one bartender disappeared for 45 minutes. No refills. No check-in. No bill. Breaks are important. Coverage is also important, especially when you're selling a premium experience. Beyond the bellhops, much of the staff felt irritated to be present. Front desk to concierge, the energy was less "historic luxury hotel" and more "counting down the minutes." The hotel was also clearly prioritizing weekend tea and brunch revenue, to the point that the historic lobby was clogged with extra tables and largely unusable for actual hotel guests. Bottom line: this was not a luxury experience, and I would not recommend it. I'm only posting this publicly because I reached out directly to hotel management and never received a response. At that point, a review feels necessary.
