The food is exceptional, and the service is excellent from start to finish; whether it's the valet, check-in team, or restaurant staff. Everything feels thoughtful, polished, and effortless. The hotel has a way of making you feel like you're on a little getaway, even if you're not far from home. I've even run into a few celebrities here, which only adds to that special, elevated feeling and makes it feel like an escape from everyday life. Whether you're planning to dine, stay, or do both, I absolutely recommend it.

I found the hostess and checked in. I asked about a seat at the bar, it was jammed so I was seated at a table. The place is laid back with lighting on every table. It's on the busy side for a Saturday evening. My waiter brings the menus and wine list. I decide on a Merlot and move to reviewing the bill of fare. Lots of steak cuts...even Wagyu. The wine arrives and I put in my order for the hangar steak, cooked medium. I'm just enjoying the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant. After a bit the wine is gone so I order another glass. The steak and French fries with three dips arrives shortly thereafter. I have never seen three cups of fries with three different dipping sauces. I wanted to wait a few and let the meat rest and try the fries. The meat is very tender, cooked exactly as I ordered it. The seasoning and cooking yield a very tasty piece of meat. The fries are crispy and sauces are all good; I like the one in the middle the best, tangy and a little sweet. Everything is disappearing and I'm truly satisfied with the meal. The waiter comes by and I get and pay the check. Definitely a location for a perfect steak and nice glass of wine. The French fries were icing on the topper of a perfect meal.

Before hand, there was an option via the website to check-in early for a fee. I did opt for that and once physically there, the kind staff found us a room for early check-in. I think the line used to be an old church and you'll see remnants of this throughout the hotel. The room was simple and reflected the time period of the building, though the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern. The door slams if you let it shut on its own and it's quite loud. The venue for the party was on the opposite side of check-in and there is a large stairway leading to the party. It was a great space. The location in DC was also convenient to several restaurants within walking distance.

It's super walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee spots, tattoo parlors, nail salons... you name it. It almost feels self contained, which I loved. The only downside to the neighborhood is that on Mondays and early Tuesdays, quite a few places were closed, so options were slightly limited during the start of the week. The hotel itself is beautiful. It's an old church that's been converted into a hotel, and the architecture is stunning. High ceilings, gorgeous common areas, warm lighting, herringbone floors, and lots of character. The decor is clean but still cozy, and I loved the little details including vintage books in the room. It feels thoughtfully designed, not cookie cutter. There's a bar, restaurant, and seating area where people are always milling around working or relaxing, which gives it a really nice energy. Everything was very clean, and the staff was incredibly helpful. At one point I locked my key in my room, and someone personally walked me up and let me back in which I really appreciated. A couple minor inconveniences: * The in house coffee shop/restaurant doesn't open until 7am. We had early meetings and had to leave around 7, so we weren't able to try it. The only early breakfast option nearby was McDonald's around the corner (convenient, but not exactly the vibe we were going for). * Valet parking is the only option and runs $55/day plus tax. * There was an occasional odor in certain areas (hallway near the elevator ramp, sometimes in the elevators, occasionally outside our fifth-floor room). It moved around and wasn't constant, but it was noticeable kind of a sewer like smell. That was honestly the only real complaint. I actually stayed here about 10 years ago, and it felt just like I remembered clean, stylish, and comfortable. Despite the few minor issues, I would absolutely stay here again. Great location. Great aesthetic. Helpful staff.

Freddy was our time share sales person. Freddy was very professional where he did not use tactics to keep you and pressure you to purchase anything. He kept it real. Overall the hotel was nice and I had the best experience ever attending a timeshare sales presentation! No pressure and straight to the point! I stated I already had a timeshare and I did not need another one. He acknowledged and understood that it was out of my budget. He then lead us out of our way to accept some gift rebates. Kudos to Freddy for being real and understanding. Mark the presentation host was the best I have ever seen from the many years I have experienced. He was direct and professional not to mention funny. Kudos to all of the team. If I did not have a timeshare package, I would of bought that day! They all made logic sense to do so. Not rocket science but true facts presented. This was the first time we booked one in the U.S. and it felt like a totally different chain. From the lackluster service to the uninspired decor in our room; the usual "WOW" factor I associate with the Park Hyatt brand was replaced with more of a "Huh?" factor. It's hard to narrow down what the biggest miss was, but ultimately the lack of genuine friendliness was probably the most notable difference. There was only one lady who worked the desk who would give a friendly acknowledgment. For all the other employees, it was like we were ghosts. As far as the room was concerned, it didn't feel Park Hyatt caliber. We got a suite and both windows faced a brick wall and there were multiple instances where our room reeked of sewage. We alerted the hotel to this issue and housekeeping opened the windows for us and put in a fan/ air purifier. It helped, but the smell came back. The decor in the room was uninspired. It was like a cherry blossom meets DC Craftsman and it was a bit puzzling. The suite had seen better days I'm sure, but there was just so many indications that this room needs a refresh. The blinds in our bedroom were mounted unevenly and there were holes in some of the wallpaper. The housekeeping did the worst job out of pretty much any hotel stay of any chain. They didn't bother to wipe down the sink in our bathroom and we had rings from where the water had dried along with diluted toothpaste dotting our counter throughout our stay. There was also no towel rack or hook in the powder room, so once you washed your hands, there was no place to dry out the towel used to dry your hands. I don't think I've ever seen that at any hotel. This is pie in the sky, but this Park Hyatt needs to do an exchange program and send some of their team to other PHs abroad to get a sense of what level those properties are operating at. Staying at a Park Hyatt is such a special treat and I still cannot believe how hollow this experience was. It was such a let down and while I still hold the Park Hyatt in very high esteem and respect, this location is an outlier and I hope not indicative of the chain in other American cities.

To start, I was promised a room with a view and instead was given what can only be described as a jail cell--staring directly at brick walls. For the price per night, that alone was completely unacceptable. I was then moved to a different room on the 10th floor, which turned out to be even worse. There was a loud, persistent banging noise coming from the ceiling throughout the entire night. It went on and off constantly and made it impossible to sleep--I genuinely got almost no rest. The next day, after explaining the situation, I was offered only a minimal refund, which felt completely inadequate given that I had essentially paid for a sleepless night. I was then moved yet again to another room, where the shower drain was so severely clogged that I couldn't even finish washing my hair without the bathtub starting to overflow. Overall, this was an absolutely miserable experience from start to finish. For a hotel at this price point and reputation, the level of quality, comfort, and service fell far below expectations. Extremely disappointing and not at all the standard I would expect from what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. Also worth mentioning--booking this hotel was a frustrating experience in itself. When I called to make the reservation, the representative was incredibly slow and made what should have been a simple process unnecessarily difficult. I provided a corporate code to add a personal night, and she couldn't seem to process it correctly. I ended up being stuck on the phone for nearly an hour just trying to book a basic room, which is honestly ridiculous for a hotel of this supposed caliber.
