It was quick and easy to make an appointment on their website, and it didn't require a security deposit either. I arrived to get my conch piercing at 5:30 pm and I was out by 6 pm. I was a little nervous and had lots of questions about the piercing itself and the after care. I also had not gotten a piercing in years, so I was worried it would be painful. They were kind and allowed my two friends to come to the back with me to hold my hand (I know... I'm a scaredy cat). Mitch walked me through everything that was going to happen- for example, "okay, you're gonna feel a small pinch first and then you'll feel some pressure." He also said that my only job was to keep breathing. He had me take one deep breath in and then exhale out right as he did the piercing, too. As you can tell, the team is very patient and kind here. This is a great spot for anxious girlies or for your first time getting a piercing. Their piercing and jewelry pricing is all fair. My conch piercing costed $45 plus the 14K gold jewelry I chose. Unlike other shops, they had a huge selection of yellow gold and rose gold options that were actually cute- flowers, stars, moons, etc. On average, I saw the stud earrings were about $60-170 each. They also tallied up my total prior to actually getting the piercing, so there weren't any surprises at the end when I paid. They sent me home with a detailed after care guide too. I've already told friends and family about this shop being a great option for them when they come visit Utah.

In my opinion though, the best customer service comes after the initial piercing. A few weeks after your piercing, they will text and check up to make sure everything is going well. One of my piercings had to be taken out (my fault, not theirs) and they were super helpful for the entire process. They responded to my texts promptly and let me make same day or next day appointments to check out my piercing. They told me what I was doing wrong and switched the earring to one that could better fit the swelling. I ended up taking the piercing out because I didn't want to deal with the swelling anymore but if I had stuck with it, I could have gotten it down with the help from the piercers at Iris. That experience alone has made me want to come back to Iris. The only downside, in my opinion, is that you have to get pierced with a piece of jewelry purchased at Iris. They have a large variety of jewelry that you can be pierced with, which is good and they offer a few on the cheaper side. You just can't bring in your own jewelry to get pierced with unless it was previously purchased from them. This makes the piercing more expensive so just keep this in mind. If you're swapping out a piercing you can bring whatever jewelry you want. The shops itself is clean, calm, and has a good feel to it. There's lots of lights and piercers are available to help you through every step of the process. Overall, I'd highly recommend getting pierced at Iris. While it's more expensive than other places, the after care customer service and the service in store makes it totally worth it.

They have a wide selection of jewelry to choose from. They are by appointment, which is fine, but I was able to secure one same day. It was easy to find street parking and find the studio itself. 5/5 stars for me, no complaints. I was there for probably no more than 15 minutes. I believe they have a system where they follow up with you and see how you're doing, which is neat.

I went to the Classic Tattoo Convention on Friday and met Jacob from Sideshow Productions. While…read morelooking through his portfolio, I saw a Seahawks piece and asked if he could do something similar for me. I showed him a reference photo and trusted him to recreate that style. What I ended up with looks nothing like the reference. The line work is rough, the proportions are off, and the overall design doesn't match what I asked for at all. The background in particular is completely different from the reference and not what I wanted. On top of that, I was originally quoted $100, but ended up being charged $155 -- and that extra cost was supposedly for the background, which doesn't even resemble the picture I provided. This is the first tattoo I've ever genuinely hated, and now I'm stuck having to look into fixing or covering it. I won't be going back. If you're considering getting work done here, I'd strongly recommend making sure you're completely confident in the artist and getting your price confirmed upfront.

My story begins with me paying my favorite artist to finish an owl scribble of hers, that I loved. Upon finishing this piece I knew I wanted it as a tattoo. I started my hunt and was not having any luck with any artists that I felt comfortable doing this in SLC. My BF has been to 27 before so I decided to check out their current artists. I stumbled upon Mason Attlas and immediately fell in love with his work. It was stunning, his color work was amazing and I'll never forget that whale piece that sealed the deal. I knew he was going to be the perfect person for my tattoo. We talked about what I wanted, what I wanted done, any ideas I had and so on. To me, what makes a great artist is freedom and while I knew what I wanted, I wasn't going into it close minded. I trusted Mason to do this well and let his artistry shine. Watching him do this tattoo was magical and was truly amazing to watch. To see him use color is like watching someone paint canvas. He is a true artist through and through. I know that in the future, I cannot wait for more tattoos by him. He is the best, hands down, and every tear I shed was because of how much this meant to me. This is the only studio I feel comfortable being tattooed at. Every artist is amazing and uniquely talented. They keep their stations clean, organized, and sanitary. They won't do just any piece for you, because they truly care about the quality and integrity of their work, which I appreciate. Erin Campbell is my lady. It may have taken a few months to get an appointment with her because her books are often closed, but I can assure you that if you want a beautiful tattoo the wait is absolutely worth it. During the process of my half sleeve, I got to know (and trust) Erin so well that I felt comfortable letting her take control of the piece and giving her the freedom to do what she does best. I now have three separate pieces from Erin and I adore them all. Two of them are memorial pieces for loved ones who have died, and the care and support she offered during those sessions made the experience so much more healing and cathartic than I was expecting. I first found Masons page on Instagram while researching tattoo artists in the Salt Lake City area. After browsing his online portfolio, I knew that I loved his work/style and want to see if he could fit me in for a consultation. He was very quick to respond to my message on Instagram, and got me in for a consultation the next week. The consultation went great! He went through the pinterest board of ideas and styles I had prepared. He had me explain what I liked and disliked about each picture I had saved, which helped him get an idea of what I was looking for. Mason is friendly, talented, and he made my tattoo dream a reality. I had three sittings for my tattoo (2-3 hours each), and all three of them were positive experiences. The best studio in state of Utah. I've been tattooed by Erin and Vic. My wife and my sister have been tattooed by Erin. A couple of my friends have been tattooed by Rick. I probably refer 3-4 people to the shop every week because I get so many inquiries about who does my tattoos. Every artist at the studio is extremely talented. The shop is safe, clean, an extremely high-quality (from the artists to the art to the equipment to the shop itself). It's worth noting that some artists are booked out months at a time. That's what you get when you have so many amazing artists. Be patient and and proactive and you'll get in with the artist you want soon enough. read more

Most places I've reached out to are by appointment only, and are booked out months in advance. Or, their books are closed and only re-open a handful of times a year or once a month. So when we walked into Lonely Hearts Club Tattoo, we weren't expecting that we would be able to get tattooed right then and there - but we were! Chuck & Berrett did an awesome job. We had a simple design that we wanted (numbers in Old English font), I showed them a reference picture, they drew it up quickly, tattooed us quickly, and we were in and out of there in maybe 45 minutes tops? By the looks of their shop and their Instagrams, they specialize in the traditional tattoo styles - bright colors, minimal shading, fonts, etc. Super clean shop, very professional experience, located right in the heart of downtown. We weren't originally anticipating on getting a tattoo that night, but it was a tattoo that was very meaningful to us, that we had talked about for a long time, and it felt right in that moment to finally get it. I'm so glad they accepted walk ins on the day we visited. They put a second skin on our tattoos, we left it on for the recommended 3-5 days, and both of our tattoos have healed beautifully. However, they can do a lot of different work, so don't feel limited by that. All of my pieces have been wonderful pieces of art I cherish. They are friendly and welcoming, so if you're new to the tattoo game, don't be intimidated. They'll take good care of you. My oldest tattoos from them are going back several years now, and all of them have aged well. Really love these guys and can't recommend them enough.
