My husband and I have stayed here three times and every time it is one of our favorite escapes. If you're a fan of quiet unique places off the beaten path with friendly and kind staff, this is the place for you! Each time we stay, we pick a different room/adobe - we hope to check off most of them one day! Make sure you factor the restaurant into your stay (it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays I believe) as the food is delicious. We always make sure to get the sautéed mushrooms and our server recommended the carrot cake for dessert, which was soo good. Also, maybe this is a weird thing to comment on, but the soap they have in the bathrooms? Smells amazing. I've definitely bought a little trio of soaps from their gift shop before. The location is right next to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, too! All in all, a great spot. I hope other people give it a shot a love it as much as we do!

What a gem hidden in this inn near Joshua Tree National Park. Gourmet finds in a casual atmosphere. The space is tiny with about 12 tables indoors and outdoors. Service was top notch. I had the steak and shrimp which included an 8 oz. ribeye and 5 large shrimp with a delicious chimichurri sauce. The steak was perfectly grilled. Came with a side of red mashed pots with the skins still on. So good. My husband tried the vegan option of carrot osso bucco which was braised carrots, onions and mushrooms in a red wine sauce over rice. It was a beautiful dish, but slightly bland. Needed a little spice or citrus zest to give it a kick. Lovely option worth the stop. But check to make sure it is open as only hotel guests can dine in the Winter.

A dream stay for any lover of the desert. Given it's fascinating history, I've wanted to stay at the 29 Palms Inn for many years and was finally able to do so this spring. It did not disappoint! Each accommodation is unique and cozy. We stayed in the Forget Me Not bungalow, and loved all the original features. The fireplace was perfect for the rare snow day we arrived on, and having a private patio space to relax and soak up some sun was wonderful. Can't wait to stay again during our next visit!

We enjoyed this place! Not your run of the mill Inn. Definitely added to our Joshua Tree Experience! X Room Nice and clean Comfortable bed A/C kept the room cool in 108 degree weather Gravel floor patio area (if it wasn't so hot, would've used the area for sure) Pool and Restaurant COVID made things different than regular Clean pool Pleasant staff Excellent food. Worth the small wait. Location Footsteps from the Joshua Tree National park Close to fast food We can't wait to come up in the winter time and try another bungalow!

I was here for a wedding in late September with my boyfriend and his family. My review is solely on my experience here which did not include booking or paying, and sadly we only got to spend one night here, but oh my gosh I loved this place!! My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the rooms with the patio by the water. It's connected (by the bathroom) to another room, which is a really nice setup for a family, friends or couples. It was very comfortable and clean but outside is the real seller, imo. Maybe it's not impressive to someone who lives around the desert or has more experience in it, but I was absolutely enthralled by it. I loved looking at all the different trees and cacti and critters they have out and about. I actually had scorpions up where I lived in Oregon but it was still a treat to get to see one a little bit bigger in the desert! (pics are from us capturing & relocating him as safely as possible because we didn't want him to get smushed by anyone as he was wandering around the reception). This was a beautiful place to hold an outdoor wedding and I'm so happy I was able to experience it! I already want to come back here someday and to spend more than one night.

    Love the vibe here

Food was delicious & service was great! Troy was a fantastic server. We will definitely be back the drinks and food we're to good.

We only stayed for one night but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in instructions were sent via email and there's a code to unlock the room. The grounds are very pretty, perfect for a desert wedding or party. There are great views all around and there aren't any neighbors nearby. It looks like they own a lot of acreage nearby. The room we stayed in was the Onyx room. It was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. There are lots of nice additions in the room to ensure you enjoy staying in from wine glasses, a wine fridge, record player with a record collection, bath salts, star gazing area outside with a mattress, and comfy robes and slippers to use during your stay. If it were warmer, I definitely would've tried out the outdoor tub and shower but it was too cold at night to even think about it. There's also a large community pool in the works. As mentioned earlier, this hotel is about a mile from the NP so it's an excellent choice for anyone going there. It's also not too far from town so you're not too far from stores and cafes. I am definitely planning on staying here again!

There's only two rooms but each are beautifully decorated w so much attention to detail! Both have their own private outdoor area that is huge. The outdoor area have their own shower and tub which has a window that you can open to view the sunset. There's also a queen size bed outside for stargazing or tanning. Don't worry there is an indoor bathroom as well with an amazing shower. Everything was so well thought out! Each room has a fridge that is stocked up with large bottles of water, k cups, teas, creamers and sugar. They give you plenty of towels. There's also bath salts to use for when you enjoy the outdoor tub. They make sure the check in process is smooth and easy. There's also housekeeping available (free only if you stay 3 nights or more). There is a beautiful common outdoor area with a fire pit, swings and seating. There is also a common area with a large living room that has a microwave. I can't stop singing praises about this place! Sacred Sands absolutely rocked it!

I stayed here because of the convenient location near Joshua Tree National Park, but unfortunately,…read morethere were several issues with the property that made the stay disappointing. The floors did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. The closet in the main bedroom was dusty, had dead crickets on the floor, and contained random pieces of furniture that made the space feel poorly maintained. The bathroom flooring was also peeling/coming up in areas due to water damage. While some wear and tear is understandable with an older property, the condition was unpleasant to look at and gave the bathroom a neglected appearance. There were also barely any trash bags provided for our stay. I eventually found additional bags underneath the kitchen sink, but there is an active leak underneath the sink that appears to have been neglected. The trash bags were wet and had a strong mold/mildew smell from being stored in that area. That is particularly concerning when you're providing supplies to guests. The biggest concern was the condition of the pool. The pool surface is extremely eroded, particularly around the stairs. My kids scraped themselves simply going up and down the pool stairs, and I experienced the same issue. This is a safety concern and should be addressed rather than treated as normal wear and tear. The outdoor furniture also needs significant attention. Some of the lounge furniture is ripped, discolored, or rusting. The umbrellas provided for shade were broken and had to be propped up against the gate surrounding the pool, which is hardly an acceptable setup for guests. Security was another concern. The property does not feel particularly secure because people from the street can seemingly walk directly into the compound. There is also a café within the same complex, so people who are not hotel guests can enter the property area. I would have expected better control over access to a hotel property. The main positives were the location, which is very convenient for visiting Joshua Tree National Park, and the fact that the pool does not appear to have restricted hours. Unfortunately, those positives do not outweigh the cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security issues I experienced. The property has potential, but it needs significant upkeep and attention before I would consider staying here again.

But once you see the palm trees in the distance, head down the little dirt road, you feel like you have entered a private oasis. The house and property have quite a story to tell. We found freshly baked cookies upon our arrival, along with chilled water and coffee in the dining room/sitting room. Peggy was so friendly and helpful to us, as was the rest of the staff. We stayed in the Sunset cottage at the back of the property. It was nice and quiet and very private. We had a little porch out front that looked off into the desert. Our cottage had a kitchenette with a mini fridge, sink, dishes, microwave and plenty of counter space if you are going to heat up leftovers from one of the restaurants or fix a small meal. In the kitchen was a table for two. The queen size bed was very comfortable and the living room cozy. There were plenty of windows to let the light in, and at night step out on the porch for views of stars. The bathroom was huge, and everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The property is large, with outbuildings and cottages, a game room near the pool and a pool house where you will find towels for the pool. Each morning between 7am and 9am you will find a continental breakfast in the main house dining room, sitting area. We had coffee/tea, pastries and muffins, along with sausage, hard-boiled eggs and egg casserole muffins. The perfect start to a day in Joshua Tree National Park. Each afternoon we found warm cookies back in the dining area. It truly was an incredible stay. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Twentynine Palms. The Campbell House Inn and staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming.

Driving up to the Campbell House is like going back in time. I could imagine driving up that dry dusty bumpy road in a Model T covered in dust. Seeking out the health benefits of the dry climate that were touted by medical practitioners at the time. The last time we visited Campbell House was probably in 2012 or 2013. Our lives were much different then but we still had find memories of the place. We arrived around 2:30 and made out way to the main house. We opened the large red door and walked across the creaky floor into the small office. The main house has a lot of character. The smell of stale furniture polish and old linen permeates the air. The walls are thick and made up of stones that I can assume had been gathered locally and painstaking bonded together to form a desert architectural masterpiece. Check-in was easy and we were assigned the Artifacts Cottage which is another stone structure on the outer perimeter of the property next to the cistern which is no longer used. The cottage was pretty spacious. It had a queen size bed, a modular couch, and a kitchenette complete with an actual fridge. The bathroom was surprisingly large. Outside there was a small porch with a table and chairs. The views from the windows were incredible. My only criticism is the wifi was spotty and there weren't any USB chargers. Continental breakfast is offered in the main house. Hardboiled eggs, sous vide egg bites, and bacon are just some of the items available. The dining room, which I believe was probably a living room at some point, was beautiful and relaxing. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The day we arrived staff was setting up tables for an event that evening so there were lots of things scattered around. There is a pool on the property as well that looked very inviting.

You're doing an amazing job, and we appreciate you! Our family is on road trip & traveling through Joshua Tree and on our way to Sedona, AZ. I found this motel from an app that has a great rating system. This app gives me a sense of security that we won't end up on at janky place & end up with a negative experience. I also look up on Yelp and filter through the reviews before making my decision to book. Our family are experienced travelers. We've stayed in $20 hotel in Vietnam to staying in 5 stars luxury resorts. So you have an idea of our perspective of value. We arrived to Joshua Tree at 3pm, and checked in. The reception staff was an Angel. She was very sweet and helpful. The first thing she mentioned was for us to check out "Joshua Tree Rock Shop N Imports" - side review, this place was awesome! We got a bunch of beautiful crystals & jewelry. High recommend for you to check out The Rock Shop! Ok back to Harmony Motel - The checking in process was easy breezy. We're traveling with our five years old, and he had a great time in the pool. The pool was clean, didn't feel like there was a bunch of chemical in it, and the view of the mountain background was just gorgeous. Pool was awesome. The room, we got room 1 - it was clean, enough space for our family, shower worked fine, AC worked reallllly well - it got really cold at night time with the AC on at 60. Let's see... there's a cute table with two chairs outside our room, it was nice to sit outside to watch the sunrise this morning. Wow the energy in Joshua Tree is on another level. As an intuitive healer, I'm very sensitive to energy & I couldn't sleep all night because of the energy that was coming through during my sleep. I can see why spiritual seekers & outdoor nature people like to visit Joshua Tree. My husband brought up a good point that getting a motel in LA is diff than staying in a motel in Joshua Tree. You get our point. I got the pleasure to meet Ash at 7am in the morning when we checked out. Grateful for the encounter because I got to personally thank her for our great stay and sharing my feedback with her. I honestly think we got great value for what we paid for & what we received out of our stay. Highly recommend!

The only other thing that I thought was strange- the room was called the Dark Skies Room, very enticing especially with that view. Unfortunately at night the exterior lighting of the motel prevented any real dark skies viewing. Overall this was a great stay, and a great deal.
