This place is a hidden gem truly!! I had no idea walking in that my socks would be blown off! The ginger drinks were phenomenal. The service was incredible and everyone is friendly! The gravy, I would love to buy a tub of. It's the best gravy I've ever had and that's someone coming from the south! Anything you do add gravy on top and you will not be disappointed. Then you get an old school dive bar feel, at the bar section, and see the pool table. Next you get a throw back dinner feel, when you walk to the other side of the restaurant. So there is a little for everyone here. I love that. There are five TVs on up high and around the room. They were showing spaghetti westerns, Bonanza, and National Geographic. The service was outstanding. Even with a short staff. The host, waitress, and bartender took care of everyone. The hostess, I think her name was Tabatha. Was taking care of new customers, cleaning tables, and checking on tables. She was hustling. Emily was my waitress. She was such a delight. She had a constant smile, and was so polite. She made me feel like I was a regular there. Emily checked on me multiple times, and gave great conversation. I ordered the Roasted Chicken. It was extremely juicy. It was also seasoned to perfection. Now they make this when ordered. Meaning it will take around 25 min to make. The chicken also came with asparagus. Now the asparagus was had a light crisp bite, and was also seasoned to perfection. The dish also came with mash potatoes. But I substituted for a house salad. The salad was fresh, had fresh Parmesan shavings on top. They have a variety of food for the whole family. The only con I would say. Is that the lights are very dim. Everything was delicious the service was great the ambiance was exactly as it should've given the name. Even the music playing in the background was on point. Two burgers were ordered, the Snakebite and the Western. Both were raved about. We got the fresh chicharrones as the appetizer most likely the best any of us ever had! Then we had the chicken wings. Wanted to check out a restaurant for Joshua Tree and this place came up. Lots of parking spots and got a table in 10mins. They have a bar where you can wait for your table. Everyone was helpful and polite. Promptly got our orders. We enjoyed the pork tacos and elotes (slightly spicy) however, the Snakebite Burger wasn't as tasty as I expected it to be. We ordered the snake bite burger which was good, the fries were unique. We also ordered the pork belly tacos. The tacos were spicy but seemed a bit dry & over done but not bad. The vibes were cool, the music from the live performance was entertaining. My main gripe was not being seen for so long & the table placement was less than ideal. The interior is really slick with an awesome bar (including a pool table) and a separate dining area with a counter and booths. The bathroom walls were papered with vintage rock n roll photos, which was really unique. We had a late lunch/early dinner after spending the day at Joshua Tree. It was quiet when we got there but picked up quickly. Our server was amazing and attentive. I had the western burger and my wife had the Joshua tree tacos (nopales, mushrooms, and potato). The burger was incredible and the pork belly was a major step up from the typical bacon. The onion fries were homemade and tasty. Honestly, all the individual ingredients were great and made for an amazing burger. The fries were great too. 100% I'm coming back! I chose the wings for my meal with a side of sidewinders and my fiancé ordered the Snake Bite burger. The wings were good and the side of sidewinders was huge! I probably should've just stolen a few from my partners plate instead of ordering a whole side. My fiancé said the burger was good but it was *drenched* in the dressing so much he didn't finish it . Note that you may want to request the sauce on the side as I'm not sure if that's how it's always served or if the chef just had a heavy hand that evening. Sometimes you want to like a place with the cute decor and bustling bar, but my party and I had a truly terrible experience. The food itself looked fine with dishes like the street corn, roast half chicken and snakebite sandwich, but the service was unacceptable. I understand that certain items such as roast chicken or steak might take longer, but it took more than an hour and a half for our meals to arrive. We were the only table sitting out on the patio, which makes it even harder to understand how we could have been so completely forgotten. There were no check-ins, no updates, and no effort to acknowledge the delay. When the food finally arrived, it was even more disappointing to find that our party's steak, ordered medium rare, was served undercooked and rare. To make matters worse, the "doggie chicken breast" we received was heavily seasoned and salted, hardly something appropriate for a dog. The prices here suggest a higher quality of restaurant, but the service, attention, and basic care for the food did not come close to reflecting that. For a party of 7 on a Saturday night, we were seated fairly quickly which initially felt like a good sign. Our order was taken soon after being seated which seemed promising. WRONG. We waited over AN HOUR for our food. One friend ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer which came out 40min later. They were so salty she couldn't eat them. There were no updates from our waitress about the delay, no explanation for the long wait, and not even water refills. When I got up to ask about our food, I saw three waitresses standing around on their phones. The back of the restaurant was empty, and the front wasn't busy either. At that point, we were seriously considering leaving. When they finally did bring out our food it was SO SALTY inedible. I got wings and fries: SALTY, 3 different pastas: SALTY. One friend's chili was brought out incorrectly despite being clearly requested without cheese or sour cream. The corrected version took another 15 minutes, and by then the rest of us had already "finished," leaving her to eat alone. The only thing the restaurant did right was removing the automatic party gratuity -- but only after we asked. Given the service and food quality, there was absolutely no justification for it.
