When we were there the egrets were nesting and raising their babies. There is a gravel path around the pond that only takes about15 min to walk around. There is a covered shelter for gathering f under and sharing a little picnic lunch At the one end there are numerous bat boxes and at the other end there are swallow(?) gourd homes. There are also numerous benches around the pond, and volunteers to answer your questions. We made a quick stop here, before heading to the beach. If you know your stuff, I'm sure you would enjoy this.

Made a special trip to donate new unused plumbing parts and hardware with some lightly used tools…read moreand at 9:30am I was lifting the boxes from my trunk to place in their donation area and a worker who was sweeping the driveway barked at me "Hay, donations not accepted until 10:00am" and then barked at another guy that had several very nice lamps and some appliances. He waited until I returned my boxes to my trunk. I left, will place on Craigs or Facebook for free on curb, and won't ever need to make another trip back to Habitat for donations. The other fellow left with his stuff and I'm pretty sure he won't be donating to Habitat in the future. I'm not sure why the employe was so insistant about 10am when they were open for business, but since the "rules" seem to change from time to time, I can't make the trip there only to be turned away.
