She's a Color Genius. Same for micro links. Pretty soft curls and cuts check Lillie out. Braids, crochet and extensions, Natural hair care, protective styling, and Brazilians check for Monet and Debi. There are more stylist I know I'm leaving out. Monet is my master stylist and she never disappoints. No matter the vibe she can work it out. Definitely recommend coming here! The environment was very calming and welcoming. I booked an appointment with Bryanna for my daughter who is nonverbal and autistic! My daughter wanted her hair braided (4 stitched braids). Unfortunately who ever braided her hair didn't do a good job. She has hair knots sticking out and they're not even tight braids. It's unfortunate that I sent her to a salon to do work I would've done. Never again, she'll go back to her old braider even if we have to drive out to OC. read more

First time coming here I did foils to touch up my roots (I'm a fake blonde don't tell my bf), my hair came out super pretty (see first pic). Last time I went I couldn't decide whether to be lavender or pastel pink, Chelsea mixed an amazing toner for me and it came out flawless, 2nd pic posted is the day I got it done, 3rd pic posted is 2 weeks later. Well . . . I didn't think that spending hours in the salon was my idea of fun, but 2nd avenue salon definitely has changed my mind. I came at an interesting time of owners seeking switching and i even got the meet the new mother daughter owners! They were both super sweet, and the salon has a very family type vibe to them. I've been holding off on this review simply because i was really hoping Carrie would have gotten back to me and fixed the areas i was not happy when she did my hair . I had about 3 sessions with Carrie , 3 separate hair appointments... my first one i was a new customer in 2022 and she did wonderful i told her what i wanted and she delivered, went in a second time for my touch up and again i was happy, the last time i went in was to touch up and add more blonde , since coming to her back in 2022 i've been letting my natural hair grow out and there has been no box dye it all has been her work so my hair catches pretty well and had no issues . I'm not sure if it was because she rushed through doing my hair as she normally will start doing my hair but works on other clients at the same time while she works on you and that's might be why this time around i was just not happy with my hair. I noticed she did a lot of chunky blonde highlights toward the front of my face and there was a lot of bleeding of the bleach where there shouldn't have been , there was a dark root with the middle lightened with what bled from the bleach and then of course the bottom was dark so it looked funky and blotchy it didn't look right, i had hair regrowth that she didn't touch up and started a new strand and it just didn't blend in well . This isn't personal as Carrie is a sweetheart i never had a problem however i decided to put this review because i reached out to her about my hair back on February and it's now June and she never bothered to get back to me about going in to get it fixed . I expressed to her and even sent her pictures and she said she would let me know, i even let her know that Super Bowl weekend was coming so not to feel pressured if she couldn't have me go in sooner , im not sure if she thought maybe i was expecting her to fix this for me or what the issue was because i never said i wouldn't pay to get my hair fixed as i was already expecting to pay her to fix it i was not expecting her to feel like she was supposed to book me and fix it for free? NOT AT ALL , i understand time is money but i would also have appreciated if she would have understood where i was coming from as a client who wasn't happy with my hair and actually took the time to take my concerns seriously. read more

I've been going to Chelsea for like a hundred years... followed her around and then she took over ownership of 2nd Avenue and I continued to see her for all of my hair needs, but I live in Escondido and it was getting a little challenging, so for the last year and a half, I've been to quite a few other hair people, trying to find someone who can do as good of a job as Chelsea, but the truth is, no one has met the challenge. My office recently moved to Ontario and one of the positives of this move is that I'm back seeing Chelsea again, now that I'm only 10 minutes away! Hooray! Chelsea is excellent at color (and if she gives you advice, you should listen because when she says you can't just go from red back to blonde, she knows what she is talking about is just trying to help you - those people that do it anyway are just crappy hairstylists!). She also does those brazilian blowouts and everything else in between. I like that she can give a nice trim without leaving with my hair 3 inches shorter. She is really experienced and will do a great job. Her prices are reasonable for the services you are getting. I do recommend that you make an appt ahead of time because she is so nice, she will definitely try to fit you in, but if you're getting fit in, you might have to wait. I hate waiting, so just be cool and make your appt ahead of time, like me. Our Girl Scout troop went to the salon today to earn a badge and just have fun getting their hair done together. As the mother of a thick, long, curly haired African-American child, I was a little nervous and considered not letting her participate. It turns out that they have a black stylist. Debbie was great! All the girls were just getting cute quick curls and up-dos but Miss Debbie took time with my six year old. This was my child's first real salon visit. I have been getting my hair done by Kandice Gonzalez for almost 3 years and I feel terrible that I have not left her a well deserved review until now. I have gone dark to light, bangs (which was scary for me) and I have loved every phase my hair has gone through. I don't trust anyone else with my hair and I will wait until she's available to do my hair (even when I've had to wait a couple of weeks.) She is popular! What I will say about Kandice is, hair for her is a passion before it is her job. Even when she has had the opportunity to make more money to perform a specific hairstyle, she will opt out of it if it means maintaining the health of your hair. It has taken me a year to get my hair light but I didn't mind the wait because she ensures your hair is still beautiful in the process. She is up front and direct with managing your expectations. If it is not going to work, if it will not suit your skin tone or if it's impossible, she will be upfront with you and let you know. How many times have we brought in a picture of a hair style we wanted, have the hair stylist enthusiastically tell us they can do it, only to find the final product isnt even close to what we wanted. I'd rather have my hair stylist, in this case, Kandice, educate me on why the hair style wont suit me rather than waste my time and confidence. On the flip side, she will give you options or get it as close as possible to what your hair will allow. I respect when the expert of their field educates me on why something will or will not work. She's charismatic, warm and has an appropriate sense of humor. She's flexible with her schedule and goes out of her way to accommodate you. I highly recommend Kandice for a cut and color any day!
