Unlike the others I'm pretty happy here. It might be a bit confusing for some who are used to…read morehaving immediate access to a live person at their doctors offices. I like the telehealth option, which requires some self management. Phone calls if not answered do have a 24 business hour return which can be up to 3 days if you do the math. I believe that's because they have a good system via email and online scheduling to help yourself. Emails are almost always returned same day. If I had to guess dealing with psychiatric patients over the phone is just overwhelming, but I am able to get to a live person when needed, and billing always picks up immediately. Billing was willing to 3 way call my insurance to get everything covered. Thx!! You will need to know how to schedule appointments online at their website and in advance, this isn't the place for people who wait for the last minute. I've only been asked to drug test once I got on schedule (I,II) meds, and honestly doing outside drugs will affect your treatment; so I get the policy. My only confusion was when they let an NP go, she just sort of disappeared and no showed my appt. But I returned to seeing Dr A, and he is very invested in my care and is an active listener. He's empathetic to side effects and it's been nearly a year of stability for me which is unheard of. I'm so thankful.

I got a new doctor and my prescription will be in the mail on Monday. One more day to go. The brains zapps are intense, vomiting, and diarrhea are not so good. Thank you Notre Dame behavioral health for this mess. Unfortunately, the biggest mess was caused by the bookkeeping department, but the psychiatrist didn't care or the bookkeeping department wouldn't let me get in touch with her.

Pool of Bethesda Psychiatric Health - The phone call marathon to confirm an appointment. Fun fact, the office "didn't know why it showed five calls on my end."

The great-doctor-bad-office situation is one of the most frustrating entanglements to deal with in…read morehealthcare. I became a patient here in July of 2023 and I was immediately kind of put off by the office staff calling me "ma'am" and using the "Miss" prefix to my name. Everyone communicates differently though, so that was manageable. One of the prescriptions that I receive is difficult to find in stock. When I first raised this concern to the office staff, the receptionist/whoever it is that texts patients/not a prescriber suggested a different drug to me. That drug did not help much and gave me worse side effects than what I am prescribed.....aside the fact that suggesting things like that doesn't seem like something a receptionist should be doing? Another issue that I had was the office calling multiple times to confirm appointments. As in, back-to-back-to-back. I would get three, four, or five calls in a row during work hours to confirm an appointment. This would be in addition to a text received in the same timeframe, so just massive overkill all around. I decided enough was enough when I needed assistance locating a pharmacy that had one of my medications in stock. I was told on a few different occasions by my provider, Shawn, that the office could assist in this situation. I was apprehensive to ask for their help after the receptionist's previous DIY attempt at pharmacology, but I hadn't refilled my script in two months, my attempts at locating the prescription on my own were fruitless, and I was desperate. It was a Saturday and the receptionist was able to locate the drug, but that was kind of moot, as the prescription could not be moved or called in anywhere else until a prescriber was in on Monday. The next text I got from the receptionist was curt and pointed. There is clearly some kind of disconnect between the office and the provider, as well as a gap in the fundamentals of customer service. I had zero issues with Shawn as a provider. I thought he was very professional and pleasant. He was more in depth than previous providers I have used prior to moving to Arizona and I found him to be very thorough. I am sad to no longer have him as my provider, but I can't justify working with this office any longer.

Pool of Bethesda Psychiatric Health - Not sure who Aira is, but I assume she is not a provider nor is she qualified to make suggestions like this.
