Found this little coffee cafe along our way back from the El Centro Blue Angels Airshow and wanted give it a try. Very clean establishment. They have lots of different flavors of coffee and they pride themselves on being an independent roasters in the valley. We tried their passion tea sweetened and it hit the spot. Next we sampled the avocado toast with bacon, "tasty " my girl tried the English toast- might want to ask to have the toast a little more on the warmed up side but she still enjoyed it. I tried the savory sausage breakfast burrito. Very flavorful and the homemade salsa was delicious too.

The Mexican Iced Coffee with creamer and the blueberry scone are so good! I'm normally not a huge fan of scones either but I'm glad I tired this one. The Mexican ice coffee was also very good. The drink wasn't too strong and had just the right amount of creamer. The service was very good and the inside was very clean. The noise level was average and they played some pretty good music. 5/5

One of the best caramel macchiatos I've ever had. Trendy, clean and surprisingly spacious. I will definitely be stopping by more often.

    Is there free WiFi?

Yes! I routinely do work there.

Any chance the place will get some baked yummies to go w those drinks? A few vegan & gluten free options would be great too!!

They offer homemade scones and cake pops! Not sure if they are vegan & gluten free though.

We took a DAY TRIP to Borrego Springs from San Diego…read more We went to the Anza Borrego Visitor's Center FIRST, and went on their short PAVED WALK through the Desert Landscape. We then headed to RED OCOTILLO for Breakfast. It was utterly FANTASTIC, from the service to the food. We had as our server GLORIA. It took us a couple attempts on the LOOP to get the right EXIT. We walked in and were directed to a table by our SERVER GLORIA. We got a great table right up front by the window. She started, by taking our drink orders. We looked over the menu, admittedly looking at it the night before. I selected the HEUVOS RANCHEROS, and an Arnold Palmer. As for my partner, he had a CLASSIC DESSERT BURRITO. We added Chips and Guacamole, made fresh on the spot!!! It could not have been a BETTER EXPERIENCE!!!

While not all Mexican food is created equal, I do tend to think that it's a type of food that is really tough to completely ruin. Unfortunately, I was proven wrong with this visit. I decided on a cup of the tortilla soup, and I ended up only having a couple of bites them throwing the rest out. The chicken was full of bones, which was so gross and not normal or expected for this dish. There were mixed feelings among the group I think, but those who were seating near me did not enjoy their food across the board.

Don't you just love it when a restaurant gets things right?…read more Owners Roberto and Rina ("Reina") Perez have figured out how to prepare and present home cooking in a commercial setting, and, in doing so, have shown that they understand the importance of "home" in that construct. Some of this is no surprise to me. Reina is cousin to Rodnia Attiq (nee Navarro), who, with her mother Rosario Sotelo owned San Diego's El Borrego for almost 25 years, until they closed their business at the end of 2025. Having been welcomed and fed many times with homely care at El Borrego, I'm not surprised that the family connection - and the warmth and hospitality included in it - extends to Cousin Reina. If you're having a bad day, it's worth dropping in for a bite to eat just so you can say "hi" to her. Between the food and the greeting you'll receive, you'll leave feeling better about things. So what to eat? Depending on the time of day and how hungry you are, you'll be pleased with Cazuelitas; Pozole Rojo or the herby Guerrero-style Pozole Verde; hearty Tlacoyos; large Enchilada plates; or probably my favorite Mexican dish, Mixiote de Borrego, which is lamb that's spiced, marinated and slow-steamed until it falls off the bone. I've eated most of those things and seen the rest on my fellow diners' tables. Especially now that El Borrego is gone, if El Centro wasn't a two-hour drive from my house, I'd be a regular, so that I could continue sampling the superb and wide-ranging menu at Antojito Como En Casa.
