For many years, I have visited Montreal and I remember that 3 Amigos used to have all kinds of good deals and specials. This visit, I noticed they were offering a CDN 11.95 fajita special on Wednesdays, so I decided to check it out. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30am and I was the first one to sit outside on the patio. A very nice waiter brought me water, chips and salsa. I ordered the steak fajitas and he asked me how I wanted the meat cooked...I said medium....good question... The food came in a sizzing iron skillet pan and it was well seasoned...a bit salty for my taste, but nicely done...corn warm tortillas came with the meal. I've been going to the one downtown for over 25 years and let me tell you, the started cheaping out on the home made hot sauce, used to be very good and they changed it a few months ago, to the point where it is completely tasteless and just hot without any taste, just burning hot, it's orange watered down liquid and looks like Franks hot sauce you would buy at the super market. Bring back the other sauce and stop being cheap with your customers. read more

What a great night ! We got a table inside near the window because it was way to hot to be outside. Food was amazing but salad could of been better if they cut up the chicken to smaller pieces. It was raining. We were hungry after a day of sight seeing. We saw 3 Sombreros and went in. Boy! Was this place a surprise. I had Grilled Chicken Breast Quesadillas and my friend had Tacos. I shared one taco, it was good. But the Quesadillas were my favourite. Flavourful and fulfilling. They give you a big plate of Salsa chips before bringing your food out. After my previous experience, I wrote to 3Amigos and I was contacted by the restaurant manager within 1-2 days. He addressed all the points I mentioned - my previous visit was on Grand Prix day, an extremely busy day in Montreal. And the waiter I was attended by was extremely tired after day long work. I can imagine that and am appreciative of 3Amigos that they went above and beyond to "correct" my bad experience. The manager provided me a gift card and asked me to try 3Amigos again. My wife and I went there last week and had a great time. We had tostada which was awesome (and hot). It was quite big and my wife and I were full after one dish. We then tried "2 amigos" size frozen margarita and it was pretty well. There are rooms for improvement there - the margarita had more ice than it should have. But overall, it was alright. My favorite part of 3 Amigos right now is there chips and salsa. The salsa is one of the best I have ever had. In summary, I really appreciate that the management took my complaint about my previous experience seriously and did everything they could to provide me a good experience during my 2nd visit. read more

A few months ago, I went here for dinner with a female colleague after work as I was in the mood for some Mexican food and my colleague and she didn't have any objection. Went inside and was quickly seated. Not sure of the name of our server but he tried to make a few jokes which I personally didn't find funny nor was it objectionable. I ordered the combo of the beef taco and beef burrito dish along with a beer. We were served some nachos. I don't remember what my colleague ordered. I thought that the food was good. When we informed the server that we were done, the server brought out one bill without asking if we wanted separate bills. Since both of us were going to pay with our credit cards, we flagged him down and asked him if we could have 2 separate bills. He then tried to be funny again by acting as if it was an inconvenience and he jokingly made a comment that we should have mentioned it before he printed out the bill. I'm not sure why he made such a comment or tried to be funny about it but I then told him that he should have asked before he printed out the bill whether we wanted 2 separate bills or the same bill. I tipped him accordingly for his "comedy" and not sure how much my colleague tipped him but I feel she probably tipped him more than I did or more than he deserved. read more

The food is good, but nothing amazing. They come in generous portions, although they sometimes taste a little bland. The drinks are fun, as they come in varying sizes! They have special weekdays when they have specials, so definitely try to come on those days. It's a nice place to hang out with friends, but there are better restaurants on that street. read more

First time I went to 3 amigos was last year, surprisingly around the same period, end of November for a birthday celebration. That day I showed up late and unfortunately only had time for a drink. Which was great from what I remembered. I went back the other day with a friend and I had the chance to live a full Mexican experience. Zamantha our waitress was very friendly offering suggestions, very polite, caring. I had tacos which arrived with a side of rice and salad and ti be honest I wasn't expecting that big portion for less than $15. It costed $12 or 13 I'm not sure however it was definitely worth it. Food was very tasty and drinks amazing. My friend had a mojito and on God I swear it was the best mojito I had. I eat here all the time but today is the last time! My girlfriend ordered vegetarian tacos and I ordered meat. However, the 6 tacos came mixed together. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and so she asked if they could make her tacos again and put them in a separate basket (the tacos come in a small basket). They obliged, but returned her vegetarian tacos in a basket that had meat inside of it which leaked into her tacos. We asked for her tacos to be changed again, and the kitchen flat out refused to remake her order. Even after talking to the manager her food was served in a basket with left over meat inside of it. As we were leaving the table next to us who had ordered 2 cokes, asked that they forget bringing the drinks since they were finished their meal and to just bring the bill instead. The waiter brought the bill and charged them for the cokes, saying that they can't cancel them at the end (even though they had been waiting 30 mins and never received them). read more

Covid 2020 takeout review: I'm very impressed with the quality of their takeout dishes. Everything was still warm by the time we brought it home and the salad was served in a separate container so it didn't get mushy from the warm dishes. They also gave us sour cream and guacamole in separate containers. The vegetarian tostada is the best dish here. It's like a healthy pizza, loaded with veggies.. ok and there's a bit of deep fried shell and it's loaded with cheddar cheese. Still healthy enough due to all the veggies and the rice here is perfect. My 6 year old loved the toastada as well, as for some reason he found his tacos spicy? They offer delivery with 3rd party delivery services or you can order in person (not over the phone or online). It's SO FAST to get your takeout food in person, we ordered a couple of dishes and our order was prepared in around 5 minutes. Fast, efficient, and very good quality. read more

I always get the burrito and taco combo which comes with a large cheese-covered burrito, two tacos, salad, mexican rice, refried beans, a fried corn tortilla and sour cream, for around 18$. They serve complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. Their cocktails are HUGE, colourful and super sweet. If you come on your birthday, you'll receive a free dessert and sombrero. I did this two years ago for my 18th birthday, it's really fun. Service is quick and friendly. Location is nice, near Concordia. I have been to this place before but never have I had such bad experience. My friend has been a client for over 20 years got it bad like i did. We both ordered the chicken fajitas and mexican rice. The plate didnt even have that much chicken. She asked for another one with chicken and to be hot he got her burned plate with less chicken and she asked for another one which also wasnt great. I found hair in my rice when I told the waitress she started laughing and it wasnt a nice thing to do. Even the manager wasnt great he didnt even care what the plate looked like or whatever. In the end we didnt really enjoy the experience felt we askd for the bill while in reality they should have let us eat for free du to these many mistakes. Worse part is the ladies next to us got the same as us and got perfectly made plate with perfect quantities of chicken and rice we asked to not pay the rice and i didn't even of give a great tip cause bad service i felt so unhappy watching everyone have great plates delicious food while ours wasn't so not going there ever and this has been like a bad celebration since we were supposed to be celebrating an event there read more

Wow! This is probably the worst service and meal I've ever had in Montreal in all my years of living here. There was not one positive aspect of my visit to this restaurant last night. After my partner and I were seated, we waited 10 whole minutes before the waiter came to check on us and take our order. I asked about the ingredients inside the burrito and tacos because I cannot eat tomatoes and peppers, however the waiter could not tell me what's inside because he didn't know, and it wasn't listed on the menu. I decided to take my chance on it, and tried to look past the waiter's irritated demeanor, but that should have been a huge red flag at that point. After the waiter rushed away, I realized that my knife was covered in hardened food and was not properly cleaned. In addition to that, every table around us had water, except us. I waited for the waiter to come back so he could get me clean silverware and some water, and he finally showed up 5 minutes later and said "ok" to my request and rushed off to help another customer. After an additional 5 minutes I realize he had forgotten my request, so I had to ask the manager. Eventually the food came, and it looked pretty good! After I cut into my burrito however, I was beyond frustrated. The beef burrito is essentially their "fajitas" wrapped in a large flour tortilla. Beef with PEPPERS, and onions. I can't eat peppers, and I specifically asked the waiter if peppers were inside of the burrito and he didn't bother to find out. In order for the meal to be edible I had to tear apart the burrito and pick out the peppers. At that point it was just a sloppy mess. I didn't want to send it back to the kitchen because I knew it would take another 20 minutes for me to get my food back and at that point I wanted to leave ASAP. To top things off, I was being attacked by mosquitos the entire time I was there. I was seated next to a pole covered in rope, and mosquitos were SWARMING around it. I don't really go to 3 amigos, but when I do I usually take the same dish since I don't want to bother and look at their menu and bug for 20 minutes. Anyhow, It was a family type of date. We've had their Wednesday special. I liked their chicken wasn't that bad. I didn't like their type of taco that had cheese in it. It was very dry. I wouldn't recommend this dish to anyone unless you're drunk and need munchies or if you're on a budget. As for their drinks we L O V E D it. It was a big type of piña colada enough for three people. We honestly couldn't even finish it, me, my brother, & his gf. We had to go to the restroom since it was a lot of liquid. It was sweet and the amount of alcohol was okay. Gets you tipsy enough. One of their night workers was tipsy and was amazing to us considering he's also Bengali like us. We were all getting along and having a good time. Got to know him and he got to know us. I tried back to back Mexican and that is probably why I didn't enjoy this place as much. I had heard a lot about this place and the authentic Mexican food, I wasn't too impressed though. The service was rather poor, our waiter kept disappearing for prolonged periods and didn't even smile. The drinks were good (I'd recommend going here for a few drinks but not actual dinner), I got myself the lycée sangria which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the chicken burrito, the portions were absolutely enormous. It wasn't as flavourful as expected. My husband ordered the enchiladas which were better. I would give this place another try and maybe order something different but I would not recommend this to anyone looking for good Mexican food and in Montreal for a shirt visit. The decor is too flamboyant from the outside, but the inside I find poorly lit and a bit run down. Must mention their spicy sauce is extra strong but it is very different from the regular and I would suggest to try it for sure. read more

Being from the southern US this is a very decent Mexican place. Comparable to any other Mexican-style restaurant in Montreal, it is by far the best value for the portions. The food is very good even if you know what real authentic Mexican food should be. It isn't fancy, but the variety and flavors are there and the food quality seems very good. All in all, my family and I really enjoyed our meals and we left full. The service was fantastic and Sabastian, our waiter was clearly happy to be doing his job. He took extra time and precautions to help with my wife who has food allergies and everything was handled with professionalism. We will definitely be coming back here! read more

This was very interesting.....I came in cause it was the only thing open at this time of night. We sat down and already it felt really weird. It was quite uncomfortable. We were looking at the menu when my friend thought to see what's popular on yelp. We didn't realize the 2 stars but we decided to eat there anyway. (Idk why maybe because we were hungry haha) so we got our food and to us it looked like they reheated it. The rice was dry, the beans were weird and the salad was very sad looking. The chicken was kinda nice but that's it. In the middle of the meal I felt a little weird. Now that I have left, I feel like I'm going to throw up. I don't recommend this place.
